Mine was 54 rounds and measured just over 1 meter square but this size entirely depends on your tension. My tension for this blanket ended up being quite tight! And regarding ends, it’s entirely your own preference. I like leaving them to the end because I enjoy weaving them all in at once.

Yes you can make a rectangle, you start with a chain and then do the granny groups along both sides of the chain. I have never done it myself but I'm sure there will be tutorials out there that will help you
I know this is off topic, but I just want to say: you have really beautiful nail 💅 love love the shape of your nails. They look so neat and clean and overall healthy. And also I love this blanket, I'm hoping to try making this as a beginner who is horrible with granny squares although I love them so much
Is this blanket like the heavy one? Bc for this one you need 15 yarns and each is 100g so 1.5kg in total? you really did a good job expaining everything so I want to make my mom this blanket, so that's why I'm asking🌸I know the yarn you used is DK but I still don't get it since I'm new to making blankets📖🧶
I have copper teal plum and gold In stylecraft special dk yarn is this ok to start like that and add other colours as I go on with it please kindly confirm
Yes definitely! You’d need to go up to an appropriate hook size and I’d recommend checking out this tutorial if you are using the same yarn throughout and not changing colours every round: th-cam.com/video/wscK3pz33S8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6GjDjde9jA-wwFFw
No one can tell you this, it’s like asking how long is a piece of string, everyone’s crochet would be different due to tension, hook size, yarn weight, technique etc . I would recommend making one square yourself, then you can measure the size and weigh it. From here you can do some maths to work out the size of the finished blanket and the amount of yarn required. It’s called “swatching” if you need to google it to find out more about how to do it 🙂
Yes this is what I do, it is on my to do list to do a one colour granny square tutorial for TH-cam. I am filming later this week so will do it then. I have 2 tutorials on it on tiktok if you can’t wait but I do not turn these squares over between rows in these tutorials to keep them simpler as tiktok has time limits. vm.tiktok.com/ZGJHT697u/ and vm.tiktok.com/ZGJHTLEvF/
Okay no worries!! This was a great tutorial and super informative! I just got a little confused with how to turn it when not fastening off between color changes but if it’s the same as I would turn a normal row-to-row blanket then that makes sense!
@@boldergymnast42 there’s lots of ways of doing it with granny squares, as long as you stick to the same formula for groups of 3 double crochet it will work out 😁 I’m glad you’ve found this tutorial so helpful!

Thank you so much for this great tutorial!! I am planning to make this blanket for my next project! How many grams/balls of yarn would you recommend for a big blanket?
It depends on the size of the yarn and your definition of "big blanket". I find that around 3600m of DK weight yarn makes a blanket that easily covers a single bed with overhang, 4800m will cover a double bed, and 6000m will cover a Super King bed with overhang.

Hi I have a question. Do you still need to cut you yarn if u have a yarn cake with multiple colors while ending rows???
I know this is off topic, but I just want to say: you have really beautiful nail 💅 love love the shape of your nails. They look so neat and clean and overall healthy. And also I love this blanket, I'm hoping to try making this as a beginner who is horrible with granny squares although I love them so much
Do we have to turn it if we are using one color ?
Is this blanket like the heavy one? Bc for this one you need 15 yarns and each is 100g so 1.5kg in total? you really did a good job expaining everything so I want to make my mom this blanket, so that's why I'm asking🌸I know the yarn you used is DK but I still don't get it since I'm new to making blankets📖🧶
I have copper teal plum and gold In stylecraft special dk yarn is this ok to start like that and add other colours as I go on with it please kindly confirm
Use the colours you like.
Would I be able to modify this to make it a chunky blanket using Bernat blanket or forever fleece yarn?
Yes definitely! You’d need to go up to an appropriate hook size and I’d recommend checking out this tutorial if you are using the same yarn throughout and not changing colours every round: th-cam.com/video/wscK3pz33S8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6GjDjde9jA-wwFFw
How big would a 300 square c2c blanket be with a 3mm crochet needle with 3dc for each square. Could anyone let me know please
It’s called “swatching” if you need to google it to find out more about how to do it 🙂
If I was using one color would I still turn my work after each round and just work the opposite direction?
I’m not sure how big to make it! How many rounds did everyone do?
When you changed colors you chose a new space in which to start. If i am coing it all with one color, do i just continue with the next space?
@@lindyredmond9838 if you’re doing one colour and don’t want to cut yarn then you need this tutorial instead: th-cam.com/video/wscK3pz33S8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=oIdj-ee9E4TjhveJ
May I ask how many rows would u recommend if I were to make a full sized blanket
@@RTD15 I think mine is 54, and that made a blanket 1 meter square. This may be different for you depending on yarn, hook size, and your tension.
Tengkyu for the tutorial
Very easy to follow ❤
Thank you so much for this great tutorial!! I am planning to make this blanket for my next project! How many grams/balls of yarn would you recommend for a big blanket?
It depends on the size of the yarn and your definition of "big blanket". I find that around 3600m of DK weight yarn makes a blanket that easily covers a single bed with overhang, 4800m will cover a double bed, and 6000m will cover a Super King bed with overhang.
@@meemamakes thank you!
I found your other video which answered my question. Thanks.
Very very naic and beautiful thanks so much for your help ❤❤❤😊
How many rounds did you end up doing for your blanket?
