    I love this way of making a classic granny square.
    No chaining between stitches except in the corners. Everything is double crochet so I don’t have to go from dc to hdc to dc, again.
    Much simpler.
    I’m making a Rosanne-like blanket.

    Thank you so much for the learning lesson today. Your crochet is the neatest I ever saw. You are so right about the flipping with each row. It gives the stability to the project that I never got. I have only completed one baby blanket and it looks so so floppy compared to yours. Now you have given me reason to try another. Have you any tips about choosing your yarn texture and appropriate hook size. I have no time to experiment as I’m 95 y o……..Gratefully appreciated

I kinda got hints that after the ring was made, it was basically repeat of the first actual square so I kinda left you 🤣 I watched til the 3rd round to make sure but then I just went with it. I used bolder colors, bright yellow, orange, green, red and blue, and mind turned out beautiful!!!!! I'm not sure which I like better, this granny or the sunburst granny!!!

    Just seen your pattern today for the first time and I like it. What I’m doing I am working with one color with simply soft yarn in pink to make my niece a baby blanket. I like how you chain 2 at the beginning , I don’t chain in between , and the 3dc ch2 3dc on the corner I only ch1. When I turn, I turn and slip stitch in the hole between the 3dc, then ch2, and resume all the way around and sl st to the top of the 1st dc. 🧶❤️👍awesome this is my new way of doing it thank you for sharing your pattern.

    • @nautikrallcrochet
      @nautikrallcrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Nancy! Yes! Flipping the square is what maintains the perfect squared shape. If you don’t flip each round-as your square grows you’ll end up with slanting/twisting of the stitches.

    • @nautikrallcrochet
      @nautikrallcrochet  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You start with 2 dc because the starting Ch counts as the first dc (ch 2 + 2dc = 3dc total). It will not effect the round or the following round-I would go back and try again.
