I care about the environment but what sold me on this R1S was pure economics. I’m a business owner so I do lease, and I compared it to the Chevy Tahoe, BMW X7 xdrive40i, and Audi Q7 six-cylinder, and all three had higher monthly payments, and that doesn’t even include the cost of fuel. For example, for a well equipped X7 xdrive40i, my lease payments came out to $1,275, Chevy Tahoe z71 was $1,125, and Q7 six cylinder was a whopping $1,348, all with 12,000 miles per year and 36 months, with about $3K down for first month and taxes and fees. My R1S Standard Pack with 15,000 miles per year! came out to $951 per month, also with $3K down, granted I paid lower sales tax and received the federal $7,500 lease credit. The R1S is more spacious than the Q7, is similar to the X7, and of course is smaller inside and out than the Tahoe, but due to the frunk, the R1S has more cubic storage area than all of them! Now, let’s say you drive about 1,000 miles per month, with my local KwH rates, I pay $20-25 per month lol. Compare that with at least $250-$300 in premium gas. There is hardly any maintenance except for possibly faster tire wear due to the weight, but my goodness I am saving a lot more with the R1S. Also, I have the base dual motor which goes 4.5 seconds in 0 to 60, which outperforms the X7, Q7 and Tahoe. No brainer for me. I also like the fact that I don’t have any gas or soot in my garage. The R1S driving experience has thus far been great and I love that it’s a unique body on frame truck, so the payload is high. Actually higher than the Tahoe and way higher than the X7 and Q7 which are technically cross-over unibody structures. The roofload is also substantially higher. R1S is great value. Get them before incentives expire!
I agree, I hope rivian makes it to the “R2” (not the R 12 😂) But maybe one day they do make the R12, in 40 years. The good thing for you is rivian had years to work the bugs and glitches out of the platform and the software. Where if your a day one adopter it’s for sure not as smooth. I’m about to find that out. Getting my Polestar 3 Performance in 1 week. I’m Expecting bugs early on. But should be mint in 3-6 months of over the air updates

I don’t understand how they managed to stay afloat selling cars in a single market.
It’s called stock and VW bailouts
Wait, if this is a duel motor performance isn’t it 665 horse power? Not almost 800? Or am I wrong.
I swear you said duel motor. The quad is over 800
@@windowman9665 sorry, yes over 800HP Quad. Thanks for watching!
