@@GA-wq8xq Yes. I know. Note that I had two pre orders and have also been waiting a very long time, but I do feel very fortunate. This is one reason that I have decided to produce as much content as we can to share our information and experiences with others and hopefully encourage others to consider EVs.
Jimmy Chang! What a nice surprise to see you here and not on your EUC. I’m really looking forward to test-driving a Rivian when they’re out. Yes, I wish there were a handle on the A-pillar, too, but there’re still the grab handles above the doors. Much better than the handle-free Tesla.
Can't wait for my 2024 delivery now. I have been waiting for this kind of review from actual owners. Especially when you mentioned about you coming from Tesla which I currently have two of them now, your opinion was spot on to my assumption that R1S will be far more superior than the comparably priced Model Y(performance) for instance in terms of power, space, functionality, etc. Of course, model X Plaid might be faster and more luxurious. However, with prices taken into consideration between the two, R1S will be the best bang for your buck if you are one of those early days reservation holders. 4x Motors with 800+ HP for $75K? That's just insanely cheap! Thanks for your video.
Just a reminder, I am also keeping an eye on upcoming SUV EVs from Kia and Hyundai. Should they arrive in the US market sooner than my RIVIAN order and priced cheaper with all the things compared, I will change. Until then, RIVIAN is King of the Hill for now.
I would buy one but need to check if that will fit garage as I hate to park outside.
Once the price is more in my lane, I’ll be getting one!

Man Rivian really knocked it out the park with this one! Sadly, Tesla isn't interested in making functional changes anymore since people keep buying them despite the poor quality and horrible service experiences. I'm speaking from experience lol
Until the Tesla Cybertruck comes out though these are all amazing products from *EVERYONE* at the moment that has the potential to truly dominate the entire US Auto industry. Right now ironically enough that wholesale domination is coming from Toyota which is hardly a surprise from anyone who has had to try and survive The Big 3 Years 1985-present of Ford, GM and Chrysler so I definitely understand and respect those embracing clean sheet work!
Great coverage on the OneWheel disaster here and here only... something Doug Demuro simply is wholly clueless about as he is so many other matters not least *STILL* being Tesla.
Investors in Rivian and Lucid have been absolutely annihilated since their respective IPOs whereas Tesla has made people absolutely gobsmacking rich despite the massive 2022 sell off indeed crash in point of fact.

The future of pure BEV I think excepting Tesla still remains stand up scooters which have profoundly changed the US economy and for the better with still a lot of innovation and improvement going on there would be an understatement. In the meantime the Revenge of the ICE Platform now clearly well underway.
How do you like the ride of the 22” wheels? Any plans for a snow wheel package?
It's only shorter because the example of the R1S you have has street tires. If it had the all terrains, it would be the same size.

I can’t wait for my R1S due this summer in Limestone just like this one. I have watched countless videos on the truck and in every video the carpet on the back of the second row always looked bunched up and isn’t lying flat. Can you comment on this? Is this something Rivian has acknowledged? Is it an issue when you try to slide in long items?
I'm concerned about the 3rd row leg room. You didn't really show it before you moved the 2nd row seat up so far that it couldn't be used. Could a 6 foot tall person have sufficient leg room to go 10-20 miles comfortably? Thanks

@riviandad made a comment about the bouncy suspension compared to the R1T. Is this very noticable to the point of discomfort for the rear seat passengers?

Sounds and looks wonderful... then I looked up the price. Turns out you have to be a DR or lawyer or TH-cam personality to own one... Considering the complexity of an IC motor, my opinion is that electric vehicles are way over priced. One hopes they at least come with a decent warranty of 15 to 20 years.
No digital rear view camera? Smh

There is a small storage space under both front seats. Not quite a glove box though.

i mean its not as big or roomy as a tahoe cause its smaller than one. i agree, there are some things that i would prefer for the climate control to be manual and have buttons. some things where you have to go through 4 menus to control just shouldnt have to

I wish they would come to Mumbai
Why would they? The us per capita is about 4.5% of the world's population yet our auto market consumes 22-25% of all vehicle sales annually.
Plus the average selling price can support something like rivians existing price points. With the average middle class income will allow them to sell the r2 series vehicle's from 2025 easily.
To get into India? They'd need a under 25k vehicle if not even cheaper. They will likely never make anything in that far down of a price bracket.
Damn. This is like $40k over my budget ☹️

When are these non-Tesla EV manufacturers going to make a sedan? As someone with no intensions of having a family, I don't need something that can carry 7 people; just me, my SO, and the dogs. I'm waiting for further innovations in the low-profile EV space before I consider getting a car.
