The reason I started composing (after watching Backdraft at 20 years old) and the reason I continue to compose in my 50s. Inspirational, supremely talented and humble above all else.
I would like to see him speak together to other composers. And let the interviewer present a problem that you can solve together. It would be interesting ❤
@@LearnCompositionOnline Is your angle that his music is simple therefore it can be emulated? To that I'd say check the concept of "The other side of complexity". There's a reason a lot of composers in Hollywood try to sound like Hans, but no one does it as good as him. He is the most innovative modern composer and has proven it repeatedly from The Thin Red Line to his collaborations with Nolan and now Villeneuve. And that's just to name a few.
It’s the mark of a genius to be able to convey their thoughts with simplicity. He knows how to cut through the noise & go straight into the meaning behind it.

He’s composed the main themes for Planet Earth II and III and Frozen Planet II. The composers for those shows are part of the collective Bleeding Fingers Music where Zimmer was one of the founders, so he most likely helped produce the albums and some of the music.
@@nickavenoso7851 As someone who knows the composers working at bleeding fingers. I can tell you he doesn’t produce those albums at all. Yes he wrote the themes but the way he goes around acting like he’s behind all the music is wrong.
I am a lover of music just about any kind of music really but when the music is louder than words being spoken… It sucks big time. And not everything in life needs to have music. I know it puts a lot of musicians to work and they get a paycheck which is nice but please do you know enough is enough.

@@thegoodgeneral critics are supposed to hate everything. Christian Clemmonson is his top critic, and HE is the real manchild. And also, who cares if he's a manchild? His personality doesn't have anything to do with his music. Mozart was a bit off but that doesn't make his music less great.
@@thegoodgeneral Hans doesn't compare to Mozart, I'll admit that. I was just trying to make a point. Honestly, Hans Zimmer is far from my favorite composer, but his music just has a special place in my heart. I hate that other composers try to imitate him though.

Beautiful human, amazing musician, a true humanitarian who mannaged to remain so humble, despite the world fame he enjoys.
Hans Zimmer is the GOAT
Despise your trendy acronyms
No he isn't.
@@ibanezman04 Yeah he is

Best inspiration speech for life😊
Well said Hans my friend!
Omg it's HANS!!!
Best motivation for life....❤
Believe me, one day we’ll be on stage together! ❤
Came for writing advice, stayed for the free philosophy lecture.
The *Maestro* Himself.
Best of all time
Wish the audio was a bit more standard
Idk why I'm not surprised that Hans Zimmer is an environmentalist
He’s not an environmentalist
This man is brilliant.
I love you Hans
Insightful and eloquent as always!
Hello everyone, good viewing🐼
Hello
Haiiiii
The word "Genius" is bandied about so much these days, but this guy truly is a genius. He hears, thinks and creates things others simply cannot.
You're spot on.
Hmmm Post some music here you think others can’t imitate:

I enjoy how simple minded he comes across as. A simple mind is the only method to ‘stay ahead of the curve.’ It gives me hope that I can be great to.

My favorite is Danny Elfman! 😊

Ok, if you want weird - I just totally demolished my entire music catalog ..
Great composer of ambient music. Mostly.
Good talk 🤍🥰
Great man, great words. Frustrating to listen to as a sound engineer. Make sure there's a different mic technique used next time please.

He doesn't even write the music for BBC Planet Earth, so how can he possibly give this TED talk on it?!

I hate the attempts to manipulate my feelings through film scores. Just let me watch the darn movie.
That’s the whole point of a film and its score, but ok.
Manipulating your feelings is the entire point of a movie.

This is only true for documentaries. Even though there is always an aesthetic manipulation
So to be clear, you'd prefer score-less movies? Interesting! I'd love both versions available.
