When I turn on my motorcycle the Engine light stays On it doesn’t blink or anything the engine light just stays ON how can I check a fault on that ?

I got a CEL code “51” after installing an integrated tail light and TST signals on the front.
Does this seem likely to cause that problem?
I also have a NGK plug wire installed but never had an engine light till installing the turn signals.
CEL only monitors the DFI systems. but creating a electrical issue can effect the system and the code is not really valid to the actual issue. Need to dis-connect what ever you just did back to what it was before to rule out if the new lights are causing the issue or not. But you will have to do the 4-RIDE CEL reset before the light will go off. If the bike is running fine just disregard the CEL for now and see if the light gos off
@@kaweechannel3884 Thanks for the reply!Bike seems to be running fine (just feels like it’s running lean) with the exhaust and intake … I’m hoping the code will clear after the 4 rides.

I have 5 trouble codes on mine right now will only start when fuel pump primes then dies after 5 sec of running.....did you have to replace the sensors that were at fault? I'm thinking my ecu went bad... I just got all 5 of my trouble codes at once
1st do you have any aftermarket Mod's installed? 2nd what 5 #s did you get. I'll research it tonight and reply back
@@kaweechannel3884 hey there I have the same code as you do and am curious what it ended up being.. the idle valve actuator malfunction, I was driving in 103 degree weather in stop and go traffic and the light popped up and the bike would bog out, shut it off for ten minutes and turned back on and it ran just fine but with the code still being present also this bike has 1500 miles
@@elantran-8395 My code was because i removed the DFI and using a carburetor , But do remember something about moving it higher away from the engine heat somehow ? Not sure though . Test procedure in service manual on page 150 ..
@@kaweechannel3884 my manual doesn't go up to that many pages.. mine is the american version and doesn't say much about the issue, which is why I'm trying to figure it out.. the dealership was no help
