I have it connected to the lighter port, but it does not power the scanner? I just got a motopower scanner off amazon, works in my car but does not work on my 2023 zx6 with the kawasaki adapter.
I have this problem in the UK on a 2019 zx6r. I'm using a foxwell nt301. It's dead on the light coloured connector but works on the dark one. It says it can't communicate with the bike and now the bike won't start. Any ideas?
@@barrada001 the only thing I can think of is either an issue with the 6pin converter you have or that particular model foxwell may only work on cars (maybe the bike does have enough juice to power it).
Did you figure out how to get it to work? I’m having the same issue, I plug in the scanner and adapter to the lighter colored plug and it won’t turn on. I plug it into the black plug and it powers the unit but it doesn’t read anything
Exactly same situation on Mine! Nothing on white plug. When connected to black plug the obd tool powers up but won't connect to ECU! Anyone found solution yet?
I think you already fixed the issue, but if you have not the scan tool hou can do it manually. You have to start the bike in neutral an let it run for 2 mins then ride the bike at 25MPH or more for 10mins, then turn of the bike with the key, repeat that step again for 3 or 4 times. In my case the 3rd time that i did that worked out.
What does ECC means? I am new to riding with a new bike

Same here. What's the solution for this kind of problem?
I have the same problem. did you fix this already?
Hi Dan, what adaptor did you use to connect the ODB2 scanner to the bike? Was yours a 6 pin or 4 pin?
AZscanners 6pin to 16pin OBD2 Connector/Adapter
you think this obd will work on a z900 2017?..thank you..
As long as you have the 6 to 16 pin adapter for Kawasaki's then it should.

no power to the unit even when the key is turned?
No power to the Foxwell on the. Light coloured connector whether key is turned out not. Lights up when it's connected to the darker connector

Thanks for reply. I'll look into it and if I sort it out I'll let you know

Off the shelf at Repco, here in Australia.
Can you please tell me which obd2 connector you used? I ordered the foxwell nt301 tester but the adapter I bought does not seem to power on the unit.
Make sure you have it connected to the right port. Mine is the Foxwell ET2707.

@@Gjallardong Did you have this fixed?
@@SCMBKR yeah I looked up the wiring diagrams for each plug, then I swapped the wires in my adapter accordingly and it worked
Where did you find that obd?

How can I do it if I don’t have a scan tool. I tried disconnecting the battery but nothin happened
I wasn’t able to do it without the ODB2 scan tool so I cannot confirm another way.
