    Rx5 carbon is 4.4 lbs? What the hell is the point of going carbon if it weighs the same as any bowtech, mathews, pse aluminum lol. Plus it costs $700 more. Thats crazy

    • @JsBlazIN
      @JsBlazIN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BOOMER-rs5qn I'm blown away right now. More expensive same weight plus more vibration. They will say you'll save a lot of weight since you don't "technically" need a front stabilizer but come on. That's assuming everyone like 6" or less front stab or that that little thing is as good as an actual 6"-7" stab. What happens if I want to run a 12" do I attach a 6" to that little thing to make it 12" or do I put it on the regular hole and now I have a 12" on top and a 6" built in on the bottom lol 😆

    • @Thisshitcrazybruh
      @Thisshitcrazybruh 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The point of going carbon and retaining the weight, is to be able to build the bow more solid, while not bringing the weight any higher than other bows on the market.

    • @JsBlazIN
      @JsBlazIN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Thisshitcrazybruh what are you talking about. My accesories weigh the same no matter what bow they are on. If my accesories weight 1 pound and I have a 5 pound bow it will weigh 6 if i have a 2 pound bow it will weigh 3. Or are you trying to say now that I buy a $1800 hoyt carbon i have to also buy the hoyt specific accesories so that I can save 1 or 2 ounces lol.

    • @JsBlazIN
      @JsBlazIN 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Thisshitcrazybruh the point of going carbon is only to save weight, besides that there are no benefits. If they can't do that then what's the point, im going to pay $700 more just to say my bow is carbon and has a cool spiral thingy on the riser lol.

    See a lot of people complaining about the weight it makes sense with the built in stabilizer will add more weight to the bare bow the built in stabilizer is cool but would like to see it offset for the weight of the accessories on the side of the bow

    Watching this video couldn't help my self of thinking what follows...
    It's a binary cam Hoyt!!! Very close to the Pse's of 2018 as far as cam design.
    The increased wall of the right side of the cams, besides the reason you are describing, is also there to prevent the string from derailing since in a system of three track binary, (with no yokes) there is always a bit of cam lean caused by the tension of the
    roller slide.
    (The shot is not affected anyhow).
    The let off of 80-85
    is not a significant one to be described as a (price raising) feature.
    At that price the different draw length modules should be both Icluded,(something that is not clarified).
    And (this is my personal opinion)
    a hunting bow should be able to be
    as vibration free as possible otherwise by added stabilization and dampening, is loosing the advantage of low weight, especially a carbon one wich weights more than 4 pounds.
    Sorry couldn't help it.

    I still have my carbon spyder turbo from 2014, just haven't seen anything that impressed me that justified spending 1800$ for a new bow that isn't worth it. I paid 1200 for my carbon spyder turbo in 2014, the price has risen 600$ for a bow that hasn't incorporated any "new" technology, they are using the tech that's been on other bows for years, so why such a rise in price. I think I'm switching to pse.

      I shot the used nitrum since 2017. The guy at the club sold it bare for $600 with the rest. Bought rx 3 for $925 with Shipping came to $1007 quad rest in January when the new Hoyt dropped and all the pros hyping up the new rx5 and ventum; so every dude bros ran out and bought one while putting their rx3 on eBay. Sold my nitrum for $450. I got the bow basically for less than $600. Will spend the extra saving on a gas string set. I do like the rx3-5 riser design though. Wider limb pockets slightly larger carbon tubes than rx1 and carbon spyder and carbon defiant predecessor. Solid through and through

    Proud owner of a Hyperforce, the thing is an absolute work horse, tac driver, and speed demon. As a Hoyt customer, I really think they should get away from the carbon fiber riser thing as a whole. Aluminum bows have been around forever and have more than proved their worth and the difference in weight isn't that great. But other than that, Hoyt are outstanding bows.

    I was under the impression that one of the reasons as to why people buy carbon bows is to reduce weight. that just tells me PSE is a true winner when it comes to building carbon bows as well as the new expedition bows being much lighter. Now I’m not a hater I do like Hoyt bows, And they have some great technology especially the big changes now. but still if you can’t produce a carbon bow that’s light, why those prices.😔

    • @taylerlarsen5549
      @taylerlarsen5549 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The weight of carbon is not the only benefit. Not having an ice-cold riser when hunting in cold conditions, rigidity under extreme stresses, and mass distribution for better handling of residual vibration frequencies on the shot are just a few. The main takeaway with the RX-5 should be that, with a better weight distribution away from the grip, the carbon is more efficiently stabilized and accessorized -- ESPECIALLY with the new accessory systems introduced this year. Overall, you will be much lighter than other bows once they're fully accessorized.

    The new hoyts look nice. Glad to see Hoyt finally told the truth on the weights of the carbon bow, but with them weighing the same and essentially being the same why pay $700 more?
    They lengthened these up after the RX4 Alpha disaster, and when Hoyt figured out they can’t make a short bow and went to a mod system.

Binary cam, spacers (top-hats) flat forward riser, the front down dampener all technologies used by Mathews and bowtech for years. Now the side bar mount. Excelent so if I want to use my old side mount. I can’t use it. I have to buy a new one with these bows. The carbon riser on 4.4 lbs? What’s the point on a carbon riser. There are plenty aluminum risers that has the same weight... yes the speeds are awesome. Another thing do any one notice how the bow wombles every time pj riley draw the bow? That tells me the bow is unstable. And you can torque it easily.

    • @VuNguyen-tg7dn
      @VuNguyen-tg7dn 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mass is entirely different from weight. Mass is a scaler quantity and is is a measurement of inertia of a body. Weight is a vector quantity. It equals mass times gravitational acceleration. You should really review your physics before you write something like that.

      Let's make it simple. The bow would weigh more on earth than on the moon. However, the bow's mas is the same on Earth and on the moon. Hence, weight changes with gravitational acceleration. The earth exerts greater gravitational pull on the bow than the moon's gravitational pull on the same bow.
