For anyone playing along at home, the roller rack angle material is actually more like 60 x 60 x 6mm than 50 x 50 x 6mm (as I'm finding out the hard way ). Looks like I'm welding on some 10mm flat bar underneath the 50 x 50 x 6mm I already bought (and cut to length) to get clearance for the rollers over the cross-members. That aside, shout out to George and his team - amazing talent and generous donations of time, patience and sharing of knowledge. I am humbled. Also, top effort from Timmy to bring all of this to us. The work you put in, the time to set up, record, and edit. Thank you so much
If anything I have learned from this video series is that George is a living legend. Those lucky enough to have one of his custom boats has something truly special. The world needs more people like George and Australia is indeed a better place because of George and all that he stands for. With great respect.... Joe
George you are a not only the best boat builder in Australia mate you should be awarded Australian of the year for what your doing for Timmy! Big respect mate! Can’t wait to see the vids of this weapon in action!!
Could not believe how hooked I got watching this vid. At 1:30 I put it on one afternoon thinking I'd have a nanna nap for sure during it but couldn't stop watching. Great build and what an absolute champion George is! Good stuff!
Water in the main rails is a great idea, its not only a storage source but an alarm system to let you know if there are any cracking issues Porshe used to do this on their tubular frame race cars but used gas (nitrogen) instead, if the pressure dropped it indicated a crack and they could find/repair it before the frame failed.
Great videos from the masters, I suggest after the permission of George that the trailer body and the suspension plates to be isolated with rubber sheets. They are dissimilar metals and they tend to corrode. Thanks for letting the world know you gentlemen.
Just finished, loving the series Timmy, you are going to have a hell of a set up. I know this was filmed a long time ago, but I hope you have considered your tow vehicle and matching the wheels in stud pattern and offset and tyre size to your tow vehicle-which is going to have to be a large tow capacity 4x4. With matched wheels/tyres between trailer and car you have way more spares and options to get out if things go badly. You can also cycle your old car tyres when they are getting a bit worn out onto your trailer-there is very little point running fresh knobby mud tyres on a trailer, and it means you can keep fresher tyres where needed on the tow vehicle and get the last bit of life of your old tyres on the trailer. I’m guessing this boat and trailer are all completed right now and this is a catch up series which will probably launch you into your new boat life. Looking forward to it.🤙
That boat build is next level👌 Dunno about those fish plates on the draw mate don't think they are supposed to be cut on the middle you just bend them and weld around em, Old mate is full of knowledge can learn alot from him
When taking measurements, it’s usually measured from the bead of the tires and not the overall width. Could be why you didn’t end up with much clearance between the tire and frame. Love your channel and series, keep up the solid work! George, you’re the man!
Love the build mate. Bit late to watching the trailer and boat build ( brother showed me ). Best tyres on the market you got there, been running them on my cars for years and had barely any issues with them. Georges work is absolutely beautiful, second to none.
Hey Mate, we towed a camper up the cape this year and would very much recommend you get a stone stomper for your setup. We also put a full width mud flap at the front of the camper and smaller sections in front of the suspension to push the rocks down. The areas that weren't protected got some chips and damage. Will keep the trailer and boat nice after all of this work.
Been following your boat videos. Just started with the trailer. From the thumbnail I can see it will be A1 all the way. The entire team involved is top notch! Video quality the same. Congratulations! Can't wait to see the boat finished and in the water.
Love love love the series!! Was George wearing his cranky pants towards the end lol? Watching in Ireland and would love one of Georges' boats. They are a work of art.
hi guys been loving u guys & this Build , don't want it to end , would have loved to see the wheel guards come down to cover a lot of the top of the Tyre , so u can still change Tyre u just put it on an angle to slip it on , & get the guard that's covering the Tyre water cut with Timmy or sponsors names just an idea , u guys have so much work in to this cheers
I'm loving seeing you back on TH-cam and look forward to seeing some fishing out of this boat. Lucky its made out of aluminium because I would hate to guess the weight of the whole thing. Hope you car can pull it
Going in the salt water I would highly recommend to have your steel components hot dipped galvanized. Even high quality paint systems just don't hold up in the salt water. Might not be a bad idea to use a thin piece of HDPP (plastic) between the steel and the aluminum to isolate them from reacting together.
@@chats5957 doubt it, more likely they are referring to the useless super thin plating which gives it that yellow look. Same as the coatings used on fasteners. Plated with electrolysis not at all compatible to a true hot dip process. Not sure it can be effectively dipped once that electroplated has been applied.
@@douglasthompson2740 We'll have to wait and see then. If it's not galvanised, it'll be something better I reckon. I think you're referring to zinc plating when you talk about that yellow look. That's not what cruisemaster uses on those components. The coating they use is a Supa-Alloy 5 (SA5) plating system. The process is particularly suitable where hot dip galvanising may distort, damage or clog up machined features. This process protects weld rings, seal surfaces, wiring tubes and mounts which cannot be satisfactorily accomplished with galvanising.
@@douglasthompson2740 I don't think anyone involved with boat trailers would ever bother electroplating steel. It's either gal or go home. I do agree with adding some hdpe isolated though. Electrolysis will kill stuff quick smart once the salt gets on it.
Hey Timmy you should watch the latest outer line adventure video and see what happened to their trailer, they were heading to the cape. Loving you channel, awesome looking boat and trailer.
This is awesome! I had thought about doing the same, building a fresh water tank inside my boat and trailer to rinse salt water and such directly after launching and after pulling out. Great work!
Awesome build boys been wanting to know how to fab alloy draw bars love tutorial on the build. There a saying knowledge is not knowledge if it is not share a trademan said to me many years ago.
Nice trailer. id ditch the XO xtreme jockey wheel, they bend and generally fail with any kind of weight on them. Same with their off road hitches. I've experienced xtreme frustration with them. cant wait to see the setup finished and operational.
You can buy them at bunnings - called a 'multicutter' similar is sold under a few names by a few brands at most trade stores, pretty easy to find. They're no joke though - George makes an earnest warning on them in part 1 of the boat build series for good reason.
Another good vid George certainly knows his stuff, what are you going to tow the package with fully loaded fuel water & flushing water in the trailer I would think it would be over the gvm &gcm weights the can handle legally Comodore?
Great build loving the look of this trailer . How do the brakes work ? my tow hitch coupler has override to help my car brakes when stopping it looks like you are not using this is that ok with QLD regs ? ( RE the weight of the boat and trailer )
Nice trailer but most public boat ramps have a current which means the boat will most likely be loaded at an angle. You need heavy cuty boat guides on the back
How ya going buddy. I know bugger all about building a boat trailer. But I have noticed a weak link in your independent suspension. You only have one cross member on forward Axel's. And one cross member on rear Axel's. Should you have doubled them up. With all that weight. I'm not picking at your workmanship. Just saying. (Plus .Cross member are only welded 150 mm . That's the only thing holding all that weight. ) keep up the great videos. 👍 cheers.
Too bad George is on the other side of the world, I would love for him to build me a boat and trailer. George, you should talk to the people at Cruisemaster about offering their suspension mounting points in aluminum too. After seeing this video, I'm sure more people will want that suspension on their aluminum trailer.
having a dart while welding inside the workshop while TT is standing there. also noticed that wen doing the boat build. TT still wearing thongs. just wondering TT r those the special steel cap thongs lol. surprised YT or some do gooder hasnt said something n demonetized u TT. hopefully nothing will come of it in this day n age of the pain in the asses. luvin ur work George n TT n dont change a thing that u both do.
Pretty sure what we see is weekend and after-hours work on Timmy's stuff and Timmy is working for George full time. Also this series is spread over the last 12 months at least. We're just catching up over a month.

You don't even need to watch the video to know this trailer is going to be a master piece with George on it.
By far the best boat and trailer build series iv ever watched. Legend George cant wait to see next weeks.
George has inspired me to start Tig welding without a helmet. I can't even tell you how good my welds look now..
Think of all that tanning booth money you will save too.
I'm thinking maybe this is why he needed eye drops...
It’s MIG not TIG and welding without eye protection is not very smart.
Hahaha yes @Cool Blue. Thank You for your wisdom.
By "I cant even tell you", does this mean you can't see now?
Looking forward to the 3rd series. Custom tow vehicle build ;)
George makes these videos. Such a legend
Addicted to these videos watching the setup come together. George and Darren are masters at work, love it. You’re learning from the best mate 🤙🏼
George is a frigging legend a true craftsman his boats will still be around when he is not
George needs a sponsor from Winfield 😤 what a champion

George is an amazing craftsman. That boat and trailer are as sick as they come.👍❤️🇨🇦
LoL at 56:20! George chilling on the floor running the design through his head when Timmy barges in with the camera!!

George is both a genius engineer and an artist.
Loving the videos Timmy. So jealous of this boat man. Goals
Watching you and George custom making the trailer reminds me of the project binky ongoing development and engineering
This has been that good come a long way from your home made skiff well deserved

You guys are doing a great job.
loving every minute
Awesome series
I love Timmy’s Aussie safety boots! I do everything barefoot too 😂

They did mention that the steel was going to be treated. It'd be a safe bet that that means hot dip gal.

Definitely needs something between the steel and aluminium. Nylon board or rubber matting.
Just love the banta “put the camera down…”🤣
Great review.

Go the Aussie safety boots!
Love ya work
loving the boat and trailer builds. can you you tell me more about what the cutting discs you are using for the Aluminiumbin the angle grinder are.
You can buy them at bunnings - called a 'multicutter' similar is sold under a few names by a few brands at most trade stores, pretty easy to find. They're no joke though - George makes an earnest warning on them in part 1 of the boat build series for good reason.
The way this and the boat is built I'm not sure the old Paj is gonna tow it once it's rolling Timmy.
Is the boat going to be called pipe dream 3? Loving the build series can't wait to see it on the water
Hey Timmy, if those tires rub on the frame when you deflate them to ride over sand, get new rims with different offset rather than alter the mounts
Another good vid George certainly knows his stuff, what are you going to tow the package with fully loaded fuel water & flushing water in the trailer I would think it would be over the gvm &gcm weights the can handle legally Comodore?
if you need more clearance for the rims and tires you can get a rim with negative offset so it will sit out away from the trailer more
Great build loving the look of this trailer . How do the brakes work ? my tow hitch coupler has override to help my car brakes when stopping it looks like you are not using this is that ok with QLD regs ? ( RE the weight of the boat and trailer )
What a trailer this looks sick as I want George to build my trailer but I'm in tassy. What's a trailer like this to suit a 5.5 meter boat
George : I don't know I'm allergic to steel. LOL
You are going to need a new rig to tow this weapon timmy 😂
Should have put a cruisemaster DO35 hitch on that trailer....
You know George gets the shits getting asked questions twice. For the flash. I’m a welder. Panodol and Advil before you go to bed.
I've been following your build. Great show. What brand/ model cutting blade have you been using on the grinder?
Hi George, Great job for sure, Have you ever used a Auto dim Welding mask. Works Great. Nick USA.
Nice trailer, how does one get everything supplied at no cost? Love to know that secret ahe.
Great job, what is he making the templates out of, wood? What kind.

That’s a serious trailer guys. What are you going to tow this with Timmy? Not the old wagon?
Awesome episode. I know one thing for sure your not paying for that boat selling pics of your feet online...Put some boots on
Great video, What wheels are those?
Your gonna have to bloody buy a 300/79 now just to get this to the ramp 😂👍
Love ya safety workboots
Thought about a bigger offset on the rims themselves to give you more room mate?
Stupid question what brand of markers are you guys using they mark so nice ?
Is that a MIG welder set up for aluminum?
Turtles gonna need a new tow rig yeah?
Too bad George is on the other side of the world, I would love for him to build me a boat and trailer. George, you should talk to the people at Cruisemaster about offering their suspension mounting points in aluminum too. After seeing this video, I'm sure more people will want that suspension on their aluminum trailer.
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
I ASK AGAIN...!!!!!
WHAT blade is he using on that 4" angle grinder...????
It cuts like butter baby...!!!!
😎😎
Looks like an Austsaw rotary hacksaw blade
How were you still walking around barefoot? 😂 I fix ally saws everyday and the amount of swarf I pull out of my skin is crazy
I remember years ago I had flash burns from all the smoke my eyes were sore for 3 days
Now all you need is V8 diesel to toe all that if you haven’t got a sponsor already
chev/ GMC
If your tire is too close you can change the wheels they are on with a different offset.
Does Timmy get given a new car at the end of this? Seems probable
I missed George
Yeew
Yeah 🐢Sick trailer - got to take George out fishing - comment is for the algo 🫰🏽
R U making trailers in America?
I would go with a off road hitch, not a lot of flex with a 50mm ball.
DO35. Saying that, this was all done and dusted a long time ago, so constructive criticism is moot.
@@ontic2354 easy to change, bolt pattern is the same.

A trailer of that spec and a standard tow ball hitch ???
could you give the model number of the new welders?
Why do you fill the tudes with water?
Recon you shout George a bit a root up at the end he’s got a I need a root attitude
How are you going to towed the boat what vehicle
What welding plant is used
What kind of aluminum welder is that
Fronius
15 mm between the tyre and chassis may be a problem.
Do you have to pay for anything or do you get it all for free
