I,ve been watching your vids for a while, gosh your children are growing up so fast. Good to see especially the young lass getting involved. There are heaps of wax eye birds around my place too, they love the bird bath.
I used to work for a boat trailer manufacturer. Every trailer was fully welded up then sent for hot-dip galvanising. A customer traded in a 21 year old luanch dolly and it had no rust at all.
Always a good Saturday morning on the west coast of the US when you can have your coffee and watch Marty T fix an old trailer and have an outing with his family.
Marty may not be a world leader, but he is a giant among men in his love devotion and care he lavishes his precious little family with. Bravo Marty! We admire you greatly!

This video must be "the best all-rounder" of anything currently on TH-cam - -and New Zealand to boot. Thanks a bunch for allowing us this privilege; Marty. -Rick from New Zealand
As well as grease theres a product availiable here in NZ called Res-Q-Steel. For any nuts bolts etc going either near or in saltwater its 100% top of the pile in protecting the threads. Better than anything in the anti-seize family. Seen nuts n bolts underwater for 20 years just unscrew like new ones would. Bit $$$ to buy but oh so worth it. No good near heat like exhaust manifolds etc but near or in salt water theres nothing better. And a little goes a long long way. My brother when he was an apprentice marine engineer bought a 4 litre tub and it lasted him just on 25 years.
Hi Marty, this video bought back some great memories of going out in the Queen Charlotte sounds fishing in the boat with my mum and dad at about the same age as your kids ( 50+ yrs ago). We had a bach in Ngakuta Bay. Probably the best times of my life were had there. Thanks Marty.
Beautiful family, beautiful part of the world to live, I was going to say you're a lucky man but I can see that you've worked hard for what you've got. Good on you bro.
Good job restoring that trailer Marty, saves a few dollars for sure. You need to make a small seat, for your tractor dog. 🐕Tie the boat off to the trailer mate, that way no wet gumboots. 🤣 The kids are growing up, when they can catch their own dinner mate. 🐟Teaching the little skipper early on.🛥 Great save on the little bird. 👍 Enjoyed this one mate. All the best to Jeanine, and the kids. Take care, stay safe.
I really do love watching your videos mate it just amazes me how you know so much on everything you do NEED MORE. Many thanks. For sharing your experience mate.
You are tempting the gods. How dare you not utter the magic words at the end? "Well that's not going anywhere!" Cheers mate, thanks for another great video. Good to see that you managed the whole project without getting paint on the mutt. 😂
awesome I used to enjoy the days when I used to go fishing with my sons, that is some good bonding time buddy they'll remember that their whole life. I see you got your new skipper on board steering the boat, I'm positive she'll remember that for the rest of her life. All of the children love that kind of stuff I used to let my son drive a big box truck. On private property my God he loved it
Marty so good to see you and your sweet little family. Those magical moments at the end especially were heart warming and brought tears to my eyes. Love you guys you are the the salt of the earth. Please give us more great content like this. Watching you with those precious children is priceless! Much love from Mobile., Al USA!!!
We are so fortunate to live in N Z you are in probably the most beautiful part of the South Island. I envy your location. Lower Hutt is not Kenepuru sounds. Thanks for the video awesome as usual. 😊regards
Nice work, Marty! That trailer should be good for many years to come. I love to watch you transform some old piece of iron into a functioning, "better than brand-new" tool for work or for your own personal enjoyment. 😊
Excellent video Marty. Never seen you move as quick when the boat hit the water 😂 Loose rope from boat to trailer would solve that problem. Well done for not cutting that moment out. There's an idea for a video, "Marty's bloopers " Keep it safe in that wonderful country. Looks like paradise 👍🇮🇪

The freshly greased roller launch really brought back memories of my old supervisor! After he greased the rollers we had to launch our RHIB and in a similar fashion it unexpectedly flew off the trailer while backing down the boat ramp. Unfortunately the tide was really low and there was no water to cushion the transom.🤦♂
The shot at the end with your kid driving the boat instantly brought back very fond memories of my dad sharing the operation of the boat with me when I was a rather small kid.
The Kenepuru road is looking rough. Great to see you on the water with the kids. I recognise the boat ramp location. You had more luck than me at that fishing spot at the heads.
Good one Marty T got a story for you. I was offered a 20ft boat trailer from steel recyclers for $50 the middle roller area was rusted out. I looked at it for ages and ended up cutting middle out completely, shortened the draw frame suitable for a 16fter. Went to buy a boat for it in Whakatane only to find another guy beat me to it. He had a tandem tipper so offered him my rebuild, we swapped and later sold it for two and a half grand.
Ahhh, that explains why you weren’t ready for it to take off when I watched the short video. Your kids are having the best life. Well done to both of you. Cheers, Stuart.
Nice job on the boat trailer, I enjoy seeing the family in your videos they look to be growing, healthy and happy! The Bull terrier is really looking delightful, and seems to have there typical fun loving behavior sitting in your spot on the tractor seat!
I like the bearing buddies. Back in the 1980s we just left our dive boat trailer bearings a bot slack, since slack bearings tend not to seize up; which is the last thing you want when diving in the outer Hebrides in Scotland. great videos John
I really love watching your channel you don't talk a lot you show that with a little Ingenuity and elbow grease and the want to do it ,It can be done without a pro doing it.
Beautiful! Wow! Thanks for sharing. Family time in paradise. It’s funny with all the work you did on the trailer (and fantastic work at that.) just a cord can be overlooked. I’m glad it didn’t cause a problem. After that is fixed it will be like brand new. Your knowledge amazes me. It’s wonderful that you and your wife are with your children. Not just in the same room but spending time teaching them so many things. ❤
Marty your children are getting so big ,it seem that long ago they were babies , your trailer rebuild was the best I really enjoy your craftsmanship you know how to build things to last ,Well done Mate
As I can see, the chickens are very interested. It's the same thing at my house, every time I dig with my mini excavator, there is always a chicken in the way looking for earthworms. Beautiful restoring and superb fishing spot. Hello from Belgium
Job well done Marty, trailer should last for many years now, good to see you all having a good time fishing, only damper was having cold wet feet after wading in the sea. Lol.
Nice video and your kids sure have a nice childhood. Not as boring as the kids have to experience in an european big city. They get the 'adventures' only by smartphone.
Nice job on refurbishing your trailer, what a talent you have "Mr. Fix it " i would suggest you tie a long piece of rope from the trailer to the boat unless you like filling your boots full of water lol, i see you have spring in your feet chasing your boat, thank you for entertaining us. Larry
Been loving your videos for a long time now and I left a comment ages ago that am jealous of where you live and seeing this video am even more jealous! Thank you for sharing your life and seeing the family grow up good on ya 👍👍👍👍🤟

the look on your daughters face while drving the boat, absolutely priceless

Never.
Marty T has the perfect life.
Even Marty's 2stroke evinrude fired 1st flick, amusingly he seemed doubtful....
You would never hesitate to buy anything from him would you? You know it's always going to be 'straight'.
Didnt you see the Audi in the background...?😄
Nothing more down to earth than a father teaching his kids to fish 🙂
😂😂😂
that boatlaunch was perfectly executed. well done and indeed surprisingly hilarious with the running after the boat to catch it
for those who like to see it again 23:00 or the will it start at 24:00
I've had to swim. Once again .. much laughter from wife.... 🙂
I loved how smooth that launch was😂❤

All children ... well, most children know how awesome their dads are, until they become teenagers. Then all bets are off.
@@willdsm08 They do figure out again later, if dad manages to keep his sanity!

Thanks for sharing this Marty. Brought back my own memories of carefree childhood days on the boat. Oh to go back there now...
Very clean work!
The best part was seeing the kids fishing. Repairing the trailer was OK too😉

Well, I need a 1x8. Let's go out back and mill one. You are the man, Marty! That's some beautiful country down there! Well done.
Seeing the roads? Definitely needed a new axle. Good job on the repairs.
Yes that road was hammered by the recent flooding, it may never be the same
A bit of maintenance goes a long way. That trailer should be good for years to come. Nice feed of fish 🐟 too.
