I like the fact that he has to recharge his cells. This creates more interesting battles. He's very "Earthy" or "Grounded"...I feel like he crash landed in the Kent's house and killed them from the impact.
I like the direction that the writers of the Absolute Universe are taking Kal-El, and the other characters. The Superman/Lois bit has been done to death, and beyond. That story is still there, for those who enjoy it. But, I would really love to see something different in the Absolute story arc, regarding Kal-El, and Lois. They can be their own characters, without always being together. Been there, done that.
@blerdwithoutfear in the panel with the bottled city, are those different colored smears and smudges blood stains from people trying to escape the bottle?
0:10 This new absolute universe has many opportunities to give many characters that most people might not know about a new retelling... The one that sticks out most to me is “ultra boy” which would be a good one… this new Universe has no restriction when it comes to past present or future characters so why not? Have an ultra-beast crash on earth and make a human ultra boy, or girl out of some science experiment or accident… Cyborg would be a good one instead of him being an accident make him a biocybernetic alien with Amazo-type ability or like Bastion from x men 97 human-sentinel hybrid... Makes me wish I was a comic creator with the ideas I would want to see
Seems like a pattern I'm liking in absolute is they are taking traditionally allies of enemies of the main character and flipping their roles. It's refreshing.
There is a nation on this earth in which the people have to pay for the rain from the sky to another caste of people that dominates them. If you know you know.
Absolute batman is the weakest while absolute wonder woman has a great intro narrative while leaning into its action. Both are great but absolute batman, although good seems to be leaning a smidgen more edgy i mean ..... we are shooting Alfred with a batarang gun?) ..... id put absolute superman in the middle where it felt we got a great lay out but just a crumb to whats to come.
Is it just me or does the Absolute Universe just hate superheroes coming from high-society. Batman's middle class, Wonder Woman isn't a Princess, And now Superman isn't Kryptonian Nobility
Is it weird that it forced us to realize the trinity is all from aristocratic families and now they have superhero kids being trained as the new trinity despite a dozen sidekicks and replacements who aren't blood relatives being around for decades and never getting the status these kids do?
So Batman was made broke, Wonder Woman grew up in hell and Superman got badly nerfed to the point that he is more Iron Man than Superman. The first two stay mostly the same but I am hoping this nerf is temporary and this isn't how he will be all through the series.
The recharge is due to the fact that he hadn’t spent his ENTIRE life storing yellow sun energy. He’s missing at least a decade worth of charge. I liken it to when Supergirl showed up.
Why couldn’t his parents just be good lower class rather than the often used fantasy troupe of high class forced to be low because they did ‘good’ thing. He sounds a bit cookie cutter with a vanish of Superman as flavour.
I would imagine that relates to how he escapes from Krpton. Lets me real , they had to have some connections to get off planet if the society was resistant to leaving the planet
The way it's worded, they weren't high class to begin with But we're permanently blocked off from rising up because of what they said in opposition to effectively the religion of Krypton
I’d say it’s so you can see where the CHANGE is… the what if moment. See the similarities (a bit of a safe play? Rather than an EXTREME change. The change moments of this universe is about 20yrs rather than MANY years ago)
Woopow the palpable DISDAIN in your voice when you say stuff like: "A traditional AMERICAN upbringing" and "Truth, justice and the AMERICAN way" I'll stick with my CLASSIC Kal El....
The absolute universe is what Zach Snyder wished his DCEU was
Soo true, its more edge but still mantain its soul
I like the fact that he has to recharge his cells. This creates more interesting battles. He's very "Earthy" or "Grounded"...I feel like he crash landed in the Kent's house and killed them from the impact.
DC is actually cooking with this Absolute universe!!!!
This comic definitely shock up the status quo and made his mythology more interesting. What’s good bro 💯
This may be my favorite of the Absolute lineup so far.
I’m really enjoying the absolute titles too. Feel that same buzz I felt for Krakoa at the start. I can see there is potential for new story telling
The absolute universe for DC comics is basically their new version of the rebooted ultimate universe from Marvel.
I’m calling it: Lex and Brainiac have been combined
That would be cool to see
Im a lifelong Marvel fanatic. But even i have to say. They in the kitchen with this Absolute thing. So far im, Liking it.
Best thing since the new 52
Facts
congrats on 100k brotha 💯
Love the absolute Superman 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Man the ultimate and absolute universe are literal better version and fresh takes we needed .. as chat gpt as that comment sounds I mean it blerds
I get it. El is for Labor.
Jason Aaron had better leave Absolute Kypto alone....He's a good boy
That rocket better have room for two!
@blerdwithoutfear in the panel with the bottled city, are those different colored smears and smudges blood stains from people trying to escape the bottle?
Loved this version of superman. The only thing I feel kinda sad is that he lost the adopted child aspect.
On this Krypton you don’t pray for rain, you pay for it. 🤔
Thank you for a concise breakdown !
Thanks for covering this big homie I'm on the fence if I want to get.
I love this Superman.
Dc are cooking with the absolute universe. That batman and wonder woman feel like real heavy hitters now.
Uea im definitely calling lex/brainiac. Also ngl im loving the ultimates stories marvel has going right now. Especially spiderman and black panther.
100k subscribers and a full beard. Won't HE do it 🙌🏿

I'm not a big Superman fan, but I must say, I liked this a lot.I loved Absolute Batman more. I'll probably add both titles to my pull list.
Seems like a pattern I'm liking in absolute is they are taking traditionally allies of enemies of the main character and flipping their roles. It's refreshing.
Looking forward to seeing the other absolute title
There is a nation on this earth in which the people have to pay for the rain from the sky to another caste of people that dominates them.
If you know you know.
Free Free City of Kandor
Lex Luther is brainiac or he’s related of brainiac would be great
I also suspected Brainiac is Lex Luthor in this universe.
I'm gonna do Absolute in trades to matche jumping on Ultimate late. But Jason Aaron's TMNT is baller af
I'm not gonna watch more than your issue one videos on those if they all keep being bangers tho
At least until I read them. I might swing back.
The absolute universe is basically the Snyder verse done right
I didn't hate it, the story had enough new elements to pull me in.
What the new52 should’ve been
It is a Superman for Americans after the American dream has died.
Is the suit AI, or is it the “ghosts” of Krypton?
Wasn’t krypton made from kryptonite? Ain’t red kryptonite bad?
Could be a reversed in this universe
Also it doesn’t seem to be sunny at all
That's sunstone, not Kryptonite (yet)

All our good but if i had to order them it would be like this
Is it just me or does the Absolute Universe just hate superheroes coming from high-society. Batman's middle class, Wonder Woman isn't a Princess, And now Superman isn't Kryptonian Nobility

Yeah I’m hoping superman is able to use solar power more over time. Don’t really enjoy the fact he needs his suit to power him. Or the ai in his suit.
Ernie: I was wrong about blah blah blah.
Everybody everywhere: duh. You always wrong about everything.
LISTEN ABSOLUTE BATMAN AND SUPERMAN IS JUST REFRESHING
Dc has been cooking on all cylinders and yet the marvel zombies are ignoring it.
The recharge is due to the fact that he hadn’t spent his ENTIRE life storing yellow sun energy. He’s missing at least a decade worth of charge. I liken it to when Supergirl showed up.
Truth, Justice..The American Way.
He was created by two Americans. It's okay to say it.
They didn't come up with that phrase though, that was the radio show.
1 American & 1 Canadian & both from immigrant parents…
Why couldn’t his parents just be good lower class rather than the often used fantasy troupe of high class forced to be low because they did ‘good’ thing.
