Dr. Voodoo did make a good point about Storm having so much magic in her bloodline and yet she can’t cast a simple spell of protection. I’m kinda hoping Dr. Voodoo really helps Storm dive into her magic ancestry.
She can’t heal on her own, she can’t fully embody the elements or weather nor do she choose not to create any type of protection be it magical or elemental. In Wanda #2 she was able to see the veil yet here in Storm #2 she couldn’t see the illusion magically or with her ability to see and sense various energies. I’m so tired of the resets cause she learned to use magic in with her powers as she always have…unknowingly…but now here we go again like it never happened.

it's embarrassing that Storm can get radiation poisoning. it makes no sense that someone who can channel the entire energy of a galactic core through her body can also get radiation poisoning. i mean, she literally superheated the air around her to create a miniature star, which would give off tons of radiation!

Many have denied that fact because they feared Storm being more powerful than, not so much worry for Jean but the Phoenix Force itself. This is why I was a fan of both but with Storm…she had more of a journey with her powers vs Jean having the privilege of the Phoenix Force and never had the chance to actually grow with her own powers.
The fact that Storm’s mind, body and spirit is tethered to nature, the atmosphere and every living thing in existence you’d think that she’d be able to resurrect herself, even if she can’t heal, and hopefully this becomes a thing …her becoming immortal basically because it only makes sense.
I mean how long can she electrocute her self for? She might have radiation for some time but cancer cells wouldn't survive electricity for so long if she chose to fry them

Now that I think about it..she’s already a Human, a Mutant, a Vampire, a Sorceress and a Goddess. I’ll even throw this in…she’s an X-Man, an Avenger, a Wakanda, an Asgardian, a Fantastic Four. Amalgam is her prime identity and I don’t even think Marvel realizes this fact.

I love how this entire issue is "Storm: Fallout" She's sick & dying because of her exposure to nuclear fallout, Dr. Daye won't treat her because of of the fallout from the Krakoa era, and the Captain kicks her off of his ship because of the fallout from Storm telling the truth about Oklahoma City. And then Storm falls out of the sky! 😆Sorry... I couldn't resist 😅
i'm surprised you didn't break down that opening action sequence! i loved the new suit in action but especially loved moment on the boat when they wouldn't offer her water. so much was said there without it even being said. such a powerful moment.
Storm actually hosted Eternity’s essence when he was put “on life support” so that dr strange could perform “astral surgery” on him. Maybe a piece was left behind to ensure she would be there would he need her again. The goddess she always references is Oshtur who is agamotto’s mother, but I don’t know if they ever established why they worship her or specifically what their traditions are. The could be children of oshtur or agamotto. After millions of years the bloodline might be dilute but it’s still there and powerful and with the right resources could totally change the marvel universe.
I’m currently really liking this series so far although I’m pretty mixed when it came to the scene with Storm and the Dr as while I can understand his dislike towards the X men. I didn’t like the way Storm had to give up the jewel that belonged to her mother as a form of “forgiveness and payment” hope she gets it back.
I'm enjoying the story and series and only two issues in. Love the respect they are giving Storm and detail for the character. Great review Blerd; appreciate the nuance and depth you provide in these posts. Top tier!
There was a bonus story on one of the recent scarlet witch's run where wanda and storm team up to find a plant and wanda mentions to storm that she has basically "magical sight", and later on, storm kind of did some magical stuff invoquing ayesha's name

I will be honest, I never thought the X Men would step out of their bubbles to ask for medical care, they were self-sufficient to do it all or get retconned back. The mansion was not just a school it is teched out, Forge can make it and Beast can treat it, it's easy to forget when Wolverine is self-healing from everything and most of the others are near invulnerable why think of hospitals. I agree with the Doc you don't think of a place until you need what they supply, Storm closed a few doors on herself for the self impowered come up she divorced T'Challa broke off from Wakanda, she also made a note to separate herself from Kroaka to set up Mars and Aroko . The same applies to many of the X Men, Scott is aware of what is happening with the resurrection sickness his go to is Forge and where is Beast they are very in house only, even among the hero community. Some hospitals keep their discretion Peter comes in, but the docs know after a limited time its bed rest and fluids he needs because Spiderman will heal.

Is it just me or does anyone else NOT want Storm to learn magic? I love the connection between her and eternity but I never wanted her to be connected to magic. I wish it was something more along the lines of the Phoenix instead of her being boosted with magic. Throwing magic in her already powerful set of weather seems very random and unnecessary. Even though it’s not new.
The writer needs to hurry it up. Don't write for 30 issues. Write for 6. This book is kinda dull. Where is the villain? At least let Storm battle little villains before she battles the big bad. If this book gets cancelled?, it willl be because the story is slow and boring.
The villains are coming. Doom shows up next issue and the one after and the the main villain of the series, oblivion, appears. So yeah. They’re building up to it

I will be honest, I never thought the X Men would step out of their bubbles to ask for medical care, they were self-sufficient to do it all or get retconned back. The mansion was not just a school it is teched out, Forge can make it and Beast can treat it, it's easy to forget when Wolverine is self-healing from everything and most of the others are near invulnerable why think of hospitals. I agree with the Doc you don't think of a place until you need what they supply, Storm closed a few doors on herself for the self impowered come up she divorced T'Challa broke off from Wakanda, she also made a note to separate herself from Kroaka to set up Mars and Aroko . The same applies to many of the X Men, Scott is aware of what is happening with the resurrection sickness his go to is Forge and where is Beast they are very in house only, even among the hero community.
Some hospitals keep their discretion Peter comes in, but the docs know after a limited time its bed rest and fluids he needs because Spiderman will heal.
Im truly enjoying this comic, I'm new to comic ... The second comic was good but very short. Whats up with that?
Modern comics have a shorter page count unfortunately to keep costs down. All comics have to work with that now. The writers do the best they can.

i’m confused why the doctor wasn’t let in Krakoa or why the X-Men get blamed when it was much more than the Xmen. I feel like he should have a stronger vendetta against them personally (If I am supposed to take this guy as a moral and upstanding guy).
He was let on Krakoa, he left cause in his words there were people that didn’t have access to resurrection that needed his help.

Is it just me or does anyone else NOT want Storm to learn magic? I love the connection between her and eternity but I never wanted her to be connected to magic. I wish it was something more along the lines of the Phoenix instead of her being boosted with magic. Throwing magic in her already powerful set of weather seems very random and unnecessary. Even though it’s not new.

The writer needs to hurry it up. Don't write for 30 issues. Write for 6. This book is kinda dull. Where is the villain? At least let Storm battle little villains before she battles the big bad. If this book gets cancelled?, it willl be because the story is slow and boring.
The villains are coming. Doom shows up next issue and the one after and the the main villain of the series, oblivion, appears. So yeah. They’re building up to it
