I'm very worried about all the games being exclusive to Playstation, but Bloodborne was a masterpiece, so if we finally get Bloodborne 2, then I will have to buy a PS5!
There is a difference between partnership and ownership. Sony has executives who drive artistic and gameplay decisions for monetization and getting tax breaks. So prepare for diverse characters even when they don't belong in a particular setting and skins unlockable by money.
@@plantman1093 I was going to say something similar to that, but in my video I used Helldivers and Concord as examples, so I really don't have a leg to stand on...
The problem is that at that time Sony didnt own any part of FromSoft, so they didnt have a say in what they do. And looking back at other studios Sony bought, just to force them to make yearly releases which resulted in bad games that didnt make enough Money in Sony's eyes so they shut down the entier studio.... thats a grim future for FromSoft.
If Sony buys Fromsoftware, and the quality of future games is damaged by this, make absolutely sure you don't pre-order the first Sony souls game, so if the quality does go down, you can save your money and let Fromsofts existing competitiors take its place like Lies of Pi. I don't think any of Fromsofts competitors will ever match the quality of Fromsoft games, but that's down to the fact that Miyazki read Berserk and that shits fire. While the soulsborne ring franchise is inspired by, and a love letter to Berserk, competitors will likely only be inspired by the soulsborne ring series itself, thus the message is diluted. With each iteration, basing itself upon the last, losing more of what made the first one so great.
I very rarely pre-order games now... too many disappointments. That being said I am pre-ordering POE2. But you make a good point about Lies of P, that game is absolutely awesome and the closest thing to an actual souls game, that wasn't by FromSoft! Fingers crossed though, everything works out, 'cause I love my FromSoft games a bit too much to give up on them.
Sony and From Software gave us Demon Souls, which was the game, who started it all. It's going to be ok. I know a lot of PC-Gamers don't trust Sony. Before migrating to PC, when I was literally a poor student I always played on PlayStation. And I know that you can trust them in delivering great Single Players experiences. They have deviated a bit lately trying to also pursue Life Services. But I think they know that delivering the best SP games will always be their core strategy. They won the console war by doing this. I think they will use FS to keep growing this strategy, given that Microsoft is spending billons acquiring companies to make up for these 2 latest lost console generations.
Sony have helped in the creation of loads of good games, I'm just really worried about all FromSoft games becoming exclusive :/ I don't own a PlayStation and they're not cheap! Plus I don't want to have to get a new one every few years... Or pay for PlayStation plus!
@@don_holiday I agree. The quality of the games are not much of a worry for me. But the exclusivity is. I own both PC and PS5, and I prefer 100% to play in my PC. And I really don't want to wait a long time until they release it on PC.
It'll be a really tough choice for me in the future, do I cave and buy a console, or say goodbye to one of my favorite franchises! Hopefully it doesn't come to that!
change of parent company does not mean things are going to change, especially when the company is already making lots of profit, i dont get all the overreaction. unless they say that SIE is going to take over fromsoftware then there's no reason to think that fromsoftware wont be allowed to do what they've been doing.
You clearly dont know how Sony operates. In the past Sony has repeatedly bought game studios that made good games, then forced them to release in an unhealthy amount of time (like yearly games) which made their games suck more and sell less, which made Sony descide to call their losses and close the studios... Been there, done that, not with FromSoftware please, thank you.
Sony and From Software gave us Bloodborne so I'm not too worried if this is true

Tarnished… get it… hehe
In all seriousness I hope they buy it out to actually progress with the franchise and not kill it off for the sake of eliminating market competition:/
I felt really proud of that one-liner XD I want Bloodborne 2, Dark Souls 4 and I want them on PC! That's all I ask :D

If Shadow of the Erdtree wins goty then you have to play it
I'll gladly play it without it winning!! I just struggle to get into Elden Ring as easily as Dark Souls :/
Actually, tell you what! When I finished Digimon World Next Order, I'll stream it XD
