Great review. The history reminds me of breweries in Germany. All the small towns had at least one brewery. Made for some serious sightseeing and bar hopping on the weekends. See you next time.
The Whistler (and Boann) are one of my favourite up and coming distilleries in Ireland. If you want to talk about a cycle of sustainability, hows this: They make a cider on-site, under the brand name Cooney, and the bees which pollinate the apple trees also make honey for this bottle AND, they're aging some of their whiskey in apple brandy casks made with apples from that orchard! They'll be releasing their own whiskeys they distilled on-site under the "Boann" brand in the next six months or so, which is very exciting. Oh, and we interviewed Michael (Walsh) at Whiskey Live Dublin, which you can check out on our page if you want: most people have a passion for whiskey, but he takes it to another level!
Very cool hearing about this distillery! Not surprised that the younger generation is really into sustainability. I'd love to try a whiskey sour with this!
Thank you for watching and sharing. Whiskey sour with this would be pretty tasty. May try this in a whiskey smash this week to see how the flavors adapt since I already use honey water in mine. Cheers!
Boann Distillery products are some of the ones that we lead customers to at the store I work at. I've got to tell you, every single one of their products is a winner. This one is no exception, many folks come in looking for Jack Daniel's Honey and I steer them successfully towards this one. They always come back and buy it again. If you get the chance check out The Whistler Irish Cream, it is the epitome of decadent.
Hi dirtybaystrangler, thank you for watching and sharing. We really appreciate it. We're not surprised that your customers come back after trying this one. It's worth getting more than once. I haven't see the Irish Cream yet but now we have to go on a search for it. LOL. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Krystyna, thanks for watching and adding to our curiosity! I think this would make for a sweeter Irish Cream, but the other ingredients may overpower the delicious honey notes in the whiskey. You absolutely could use it as the whiskey component in Irish Cream, but personally, I'd instead look to use it in a cocktail that also had Irish Cream because of how much we love that honey flavor! Hope this helps, and if you do use it to make Irish Cream, please come back to let us know how it turned out! Take care, stay safe, and slainté!
HI 32lilbruce. Thank you for watching and sharing. We really appreciate it. I'm not sure how much sugar is in this but I've had the WT American Honey that you reference and this wins hands down. It is so incredibly smooth. When I find another bottle, it will be coming home with us. 🙂. Cheers!
@@simonrochford, you had us laughing hard. Thank you for watching and sharing. We really appreciate it and we hope that you come back and share your thoughts once you've gotten a bottle. Even if you like the WT better, with the cost of it being where it is, it won't be a regrettable purchase. Cheers!
OMG. This sounds so good. Thank you very much for sharing with everyone.
Thank you for watching. It most certainly is.

Thank you for watching. I can only imagine how Germany is. Hope to visit there some day and experience all the beer and castles. Lol.

LOL. Thanks Brian. Glad we can give you a laugh as we really appreciate you watching the episodes. Cheers!
Doing that with the water is ingenious. Also this looks delicious
Thank you for watching. It is on both accounts. A must have for anyone that likes honey.
@@SpiritedWrenchers The closest place To me that sells it is around 70 miles away. If I ever had to north of Indianapolis, I’m going to pick it up.
@@FixItFrench sounds like you're in the same boat as us then. Dang
I don't drink but I could be tempted with something like that. Sounds delicious!
Thanks for watching brother. This is definitely more of a desert than a whiskey. I'm sure you'd like it.

I wonder would this whiskey be good for homemade Irish cream? 🤔

i need to try this, i wonder how much sugar is in it. How does this compare to Wild Turkey American Honey?
