good thing that you didn't show us in what menu selection and what you are actuating 😀 ... so people can actuate everything for fun until they find the right thing. Makes the entire BMW repairing more and more like a what-a-mole type of game 🤣
@@BMWDoctor Hi. I bought one on the back of this video using the link. It’s great but I can’t find the section in the Creader where you can test the DISA valve !
I stripped my E93 down at the start of the lockdown and like you said if you going to do the job do it all at once. I renewed all the injectors, all the coils, the all the oxygen sensors, the Nox sensor, the Maf sensor, the 2 vanos solenoids, , the EGR valve, fan belt and pulley and set of new plugs. Also fuel pump and high pressure sensor. Wait for it.. the only job I didnt do was the rocker gasket and guest what , you have guest it.. it has just started to leak..Sod’s Law i think the call it. If had seen your earlier videos I would have changed it . Can’t wait to see the project on the M5.
Hi Dean, absolutely love your videos mate, they’ve been invaluable in helping me work out the niggles of my recently purchased project 130i (pre LCI). A question though - I have the Launch Creader Elite - testing DISA valves using actuation test as you show, the valves only click- they don’t move. Checking them connected starting the car - they move absolutely fine, nice and snappy. The creader seems to actuate everything else properly, so any ideas why not the DISA actuation test? Just wonder if you know any tricks. Cheers bud! 👍🏻 Dan.
Did you ever make the reinstall video with new DISA valves?... especially the small one ... (large is easy!) you said doing it without the alternator removal trick?....
Hi mate, maybe your the one to ask. I’ve got a 3 series e46 328i 2000 v registration. And for some reason it cut out one day an the EML light came on. I then started it up again an it was jumping all over the place an idle was up an down. Sent it to garage in august last year an it’s been in an out of the garage ever since an I still have the problem, they have changed both camshaft sensors the crankshaft sensor. Fuel filter, idle control valve. Breather pipes under the inlet manifold and also both lambda sensors! It still has the problem an when it cuts out an it can do it at any time at T junctions or driving at 60mph. When it does cut out the throttle pedal goes stiff and it throws the traction control light on shortly followed by the EML light and the car keeps running but the revs drop to 1000rpm then it’ll cut back in again but no throttle response until you turn the key off and restart it then it’ll be ok but still kangarooing or sometimes goes in limo mode. This has been going on for so long now and I’m getting annoyed with it as I don’t know what is causing it to do it. Hopefully you can help me with this problem Andy
Hi Dean. Thx for sharing. Can you with 100% certainty tell me which Disa valve actuates the most at the lower and medium engine speed range and which Disa valve actuates at the upper engine speed range. Can one assume that in a 2009 X5 xdrive 3.0i N52 engine (gas) with automatic transmission which keeps the engine RPM below 3200 most of the time, that one Disa valve would work more than the other?
Hey bro, looking at getting a new scanner. Will an Xtool D7 do everything that your BMW specific scanner there will do? I’d like to get one scanner for all my vehicles, but I also want to have access to everything specific BMW for my E63. Thanks for the videos and your help.
When using that Creader tool, how do you make the DiSA valve closed? Mine either have ACTIVATION and STOP only. I press STOP but it don't close the valve. This is on a brand new OEM DISA.
I Dean my E39 disa is not working, already tested vacuum and de flap holds, but when turn the key no noise, means my disa flap doens`t close, mi head valve cover gasket is leaking, could be the problem? Thanks Ed
Hi! I just bought a 2006 E90 325i Bmw. I need to replace my small disa valve. My question is do I need to replace both at the same time for preventative maintenance? I saw a few “metal repair kits”, do you recommend to replace the plastic bits with metal ones on the new disa valves? Thanks!
I have no codes what does it mean when I pull my ESS sensor and my car still doesn't want to start its crank no start either way with it plugged in or plugged out

Thank you very very much, just bought a 323i and am beginning to learn lot of helpful tips from you doc
Hats off to you my brother
Thanks for another video. Hope you’re showing some engine work or anything else for that matter on a E85 Z4. 😊
I love my Launch Creader Elite BMW! It is amazing. I got mine last Thanksgiving.
Good choice!
Very informative Dean. Please do an install video when your new parts arrive.
Another brilliant video Dean you are a legend in the BMW world 🇬🇧👍🇬🇧👍
Thanks 👍

Once in a while when I start up my car I get a rattling noise in the intake area Is that what it is I'm never heard it before not even on the E46
great work Dean
Thank you kindly
Stupid question I am sure, but do you do you do this with the ignition on or not?

Same with mine Will. Checking the valves by starting the car, they work fine 🤷🏻♂️ With the creader, it just gives a light click.
Dr dean...i m getting a massage error code that says, DME VARIABLE INTAKE SYSTEM, Servemotor, activation.
Thnx mate...

BMW 325I E90 CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR...
How much should a oem one cost?

Same job coming, id love to get answer for csabademeter's comment!
its a bmw, you replace everything. if its too expensive for you sell it.
thank you so much for your helpful advice
love you channel...is this flap thing also a known issue on B58 first gen?
what are your experience with m51 engines, are they reliable and can they be tuned easily
Can this cause a crank no start with no codes?
I have no codes what does it mean when I pull my ESS sensor and my car still doesn't want to start its crank no start either way with it plugged in or plugged out
Brilliant video Dean🦾
Is it usual that they both goes bad at the same time
My 650i 2012 burn a lot of oil and petrol ⛽️ what is the problem please help me.
What are these parts called??
Y don’t you talk about n51 engines and how close are they in a 09
pcv failed in my car i ignored it now dissa valves are submerged in oil dont ignore the whistle boys
What type of whistle
Thanks mate, I have the same issue on my 09 e82 128i 6 speed manual. It's a intermittent code.
Did you change them? Do you know if E82 135i also have these?
Does anyone know if the N53 has this. Mine is a 325i 2011 and I’ve seen people say only the 330 and above have these disa valves?
They both have the n53, the intake manifold including the DISAs are the only difference I believe
Did you figure this out? @ryancs2860
anyone know if n55 engines have these flaps?
My favorite BMW besides the 2012 M3 is the 2012 335is
CHECK THE REVIEWS FIRST
do you have to talk so fast?
@@arthur1920 you can slow the video speed down if you lack understanding buddy
Audi and BMW never again! Jesus, these things are so unreliable and overcomplicated.
