    Nice one!
I remember the M54 also had Disa valve issues, I remember buying a repair kit, never got round to fixing it 🤦‍♂️

Great fix guys! The coils on the n52 are on their end at about 180k km's most likely. It's better to change all 6 indeed. Dutch regards, Nico.

Don't sleep on the big one, it ended up in my #6 intake runner. The aftermarket ones are also known to be backwards. Check them in INPA before you stick them in.

For future reference. It’s hard pulling out the intake manifold with everything connected to it. You can actually reach the diss valve if you remove the alternator which is a little bit easier than taking off the whole intake.

What fault code did you have for the small DISA? Was is 2AA9?

  • @benlegair5935

I’m getting around 20mpg spitting oily water out the exhaust and the car pulls like a child on a trike. I’m pretty sure it’s a air related issue since I have replaced all Sparkys and checked the ig coils are good. Am I on the right track or am I returded?

hey mate did you get any codes for the DISA Valve? My 2011 F10 N52b#) has been driving like crap for the past year and no codes we can't figure out what it is. Occasionally I hear a lumping sound from the engine bay. Did you get any codes or any noticeable sound from the engine bay to conclude this was a DISA Valve issue?

7.6 l/100km? My stock e39 528i auto is using 11.2 l/100km combined highway and suburban. Is it broken? Should I burn it?

On my n52b25 both disa valves were not working correctly (not closing at all), neither of them gave any errors....

what was the consumption before changing disa valves?
my consumption now is about 20l/100km. Also when i was checking the disa valves, closing and opening the small one was slower than the big one.

Do you have 323i? because N52b25 is only stage 2 manifold with only 1 large disa valve.

Also given all the oil in the intake manifold would you recommend the owner get a walnut blast at some point?

The intake ports and valves are really very clean, well spotless. These are full time port injection.

@@jeremiahex you need to understand i have over 1000 unanswered emails. I have probabaly gone through similar with 1000 different people over the last 4 years, it never takes 2 minutes with a diagnosis video, it turns in to 20-30 emails and hours of correspondance. I need 5 staff to manage the messages this channel gets. Im only one man and lately i dont even have time to make new videos. There is a reason most youtubers dont even answer comments, we dont have any time. So just to clarify you have no idea how it is.

Old school rubber covered spark plug wire pliers are perfect for getting the vacuum lines off the intake manifold.

N52's are as robust as BMW engines get. I've had 10 Bimmers over the years, and the N52 range are good for 200k plus pretty regularly, so long as maintained reasonably well.
