Thanks for taking the time to make this video. Just got my wife a 2015 Mazda CX5 and this screenshots was great . Wish I waited for the newer GDI engines that don’t need catch can because it has dual fuel injectors to keep the intake valve clean like ported engines.
Thanks for the great step by step video. I just recently ordered mines from RCA garage for $159 no tax free shipping. Can’t wait to receive and install mines. I saved your video incase I need guidance doing the install.
Very well orchestrated video . Well spoken & descriptive of frustrating places us DIY ppl need help. Was Wondering does oil catch can almost prevent major carbon built up on intake valves ? Or is manual cleaning of intake valves with intake manual disassembly every 30 to 50k miles recommended ?
Keeping carbon build up off the intake valves is the main goal of the oil separator. While nothing is 100% effective, the oil separator will help to keep the valves cleaner for longer by filtering out the majority of the blow by circulating through the PCV system.
Thank you for the video. Very clear and every step detailed to where I would feel confident doing this. I have a 2024 cx-5 NA ordered. Would you recommend this to prevent the need for carbon cleaning or will it still need a cleaning at some point?
Thanks for the kind words! At minimum an oil separator will prolong the time before needing a carbon cleaning. If it is installed early and maintained properly it may prevent it all together.
As far as we know, an oil separator will not impact a smog inspection. However, we are unable to ship to California due to CARB regulations. Also, we have not had a Mazda6 in the shop to confirm fitment with this kit.
There's a very good chance that this will work on the 2025's, we just haven't had one in the shop to confirm 100% yet. Your best bet is to follow along with this video and your vehicle and make sure everything still lines up. As far as the warranty goes, if you read the fine print on any warranty contract you will find a lot of reasons your warranty can become void; installing aftermarket parts can be one of them. However, per the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act proof would have to be provided that the after-market part caused the failure. If you need further clarification, contact your vehicles service department. Some are easier to deal with than others.
Please... can you upload a video of how to do this one turbo one mazda 6 grand touring or if can't send me a link I looked for on many places and couldn't find so if you can help me I will highly appreciate that... Thanks brother
We don't have a plug and play application for you at this time, but you might be able to make our universal kit work. www.jlosc.com/JL-oil-separator-3-0-universal/
@jloilseparatorco.1853 yes sir I have no problem in this ... I meant the way of installing the part on this car ... I saw couple videos but it wasn't clear enough or they skipped the important step ...anyways thnx
It's possible, but without having one in front of us to confirm we can't say 100%. Your best bet is to compare this video to your vehicle step by step and see if it will work.

Shouldn't you have cleaned the valves while you had this torn apart ?
It would be a good opportunity to do it all at once.

10:43 they where actually pretty clean weren’t they.
Yeah not too bad, we've seen far worse. This vehicle was only at 29k, so it would continue to build the higher mileage you get.

Have a certified Mazda mechanic do this, trust me
We agree, not for the faint of heart!
Wish I saw this earlier. Our CX-5 just hit 120K and those intake valves at 30K have me worried. haha

Will this be ok fir California smog rules?? I have a 17 mazda 6 and was considering this.

@@jloilseparatorco.1853 Thanks for the qwk response.
How about a 25 CX50 2.5 L non-turbo? Also, would this void a factory warranty on a newer car? Thank you

So, is the instalation different if we have a CX5 with turbo ?
Unfortunately we haven't had a turbo model in the shop as of yet.

We don't have any applications for that vehicle unfortunately.

what is the hose diameter?
1\2" to match the factory size hose and fittings.
So there's no way to Install the catch can without taking off the intake manifold?
In our experience that's correct.
What is size of the hose for this installation ?
This kit contains both 1/2" and 5/8" hose.
sane kit does it fit for mazda cx5 2013 KE version 2.0
No it will not.
Does this work for 2014 Mazda 6?
It's possible, but without having one in front of us to confirm we can't say 100%. Your best bet is to compare this video to your vehicle step by step and see if it will work.
Do you provide this service?
We don't do installs, just manufacture the product.
Will this work in a Mazda 3 2023?

@@jloilseparatorco.1853looks like I might have to relocate the catch can, do you know what diameter the tubing I should use?
@@ohknarf Without seeing the vehicle we don't. You'll want to match whatever the factory PCV line is.
Will there be a turbo version?
It is on our to do list. Just need to source one locally to do the R&D on it.
What a lot of farting around to do a simple hose bypass.
It’s annoying that they did not think of adding this in the first place
