My father is 16 years older than my mother. He always joked that he wanted her to take care of him in his old age. Sadly my mother passed away a year ago and left my dad devastated. They were incredibly happy. Don't listen to all the feminists criticizing older guys dating younger women, do what makes YOU happy.

I have never been attracted older men, physically. My ex husband was younger than me. and now that I am fifty, I am dating a much younger man. We have an strong chemistry. Women can be visual creatures too :)

Most of the men I've known have been a year or two younger than me. I've certainly never been into significantly older men. I think there is a lot of delusion out there in the "manosphere" regarding what they think women are into. It's also bizarre that they think we're not visual creatures.

@@capmidnite yeah but it's not exactly uncommon for the woman to be older, especially when it's only a couple of years. Age gaps of a couple of years where the bloke is slightly older are the most common. But this video is suggesting 50 year old men are teaming up with 18 year olds which is blatantly crap. It's also crap that women are at their most attractive at 18 (some might me, most aren't) and it's total crap that women aren't visual.

Yes they are more attractive physically. However, never again will I bother with young women. They are too insecure, life is a mess, they just want to party, etc. I'm at a point were I have everything except a family so want a women not a girl. I want peace and calm from a partner not drama.

Hi.. A real live woman here... here to tell you that Women in general do not like older men.. if u mean older than 3 years of her age.. We like to date men around our same age, whether that be within two to three years younger or older.. This is reflected in all the marriages out there where the statistics show that the husbands and wives are only a couple years apart at best. If u think a gal likes you and u r 5-10 years older than u r?? U r fooling yourself.. That is when she takes the liberty to try to balance things more to make things more fair to her so then she wants the old fart to make more money etc cuz she knows she is starting to get the bad end of the stick here in terms of inequality with the ages. Do you guys realize we think these things through?? We dont want the man to die ten years ahead of us and then we are widowed in old age. We think about this. As a female this makes me feel suicidal. I mean I already knew this stuff. Everyone does but I have been thinking hard about it the past couple years. I am 28 and have never been in a relationship, I was raised VERY sheltered and was not raised to have good confidence or social skills and I have been very isolated I am very sad. Guys did not like me when I was a teenager, because I was biracial in a white community before it was considered “cool” and “attractive” like it is today. What about my self esteem?

I enjoy dating younger women because they are generally happier. Older women have lower self-esteem. Most guys don’t care about a few wrinkles or gray hair. My advice to older women is forget the Botox. Concentrate on the beauty inside.

@@Sinsteel Less would be for sure. If there was pressure to not do something, such as say 60 years ago being sexually promiscuous, significantly fewer people did that. Now that it's open or "there is interest on both sides" it happens much more frequently.
Similar principle. There will always be those that do things. Let's take an extreme, rape for example. Pretty much horrible in most/all cultures and societies. Yet it still happens, be it rarely. If there was now "interest on both sides" as it were, there would be a massive uptake in rape.
So to your point, if it wasn't mutual there would be a few that are still attracted and go after young women, as there will always be with anything. But the majority wouldn't.

Then I've been a trend-breaker. The most unattractive thing for me is emotional & cognitive immaturity. So most of the women I liked were older. To me if she's older and in good shape, that trumps being young and unhealthy.

As a 32 year old man that has dated both sides of the spectrum older/younger women and I prefer to be with an older woman and ill explain why. BTW I'm part Irish and it will become clear later in the story why I'm saying this and this story is quite long I appreciate the time for those that read jt.
1) Alot more mature
2) alot more respectful easy going
3) they know what they want and they know how to properly communicate.
4) they aren't after my resources and I'm not after hers.
5) The bedroom action is alot better with older women .Younger women never really satisfied me sexually and it was mostly just boring. Older Women actually like sex and they are more open minded about trying new things.
Here's a my story I was 20 years old I had broken up with my 3rd gf because I caught her cheating with her dead beat ex bf. Then about a few months later I went out to a restaurant my date didn't show up so I went by myself and I saw this real attractive and beautiful woman who latter became mybwife sitting by herself so I decided to talk to her and she said she had a date however he never showed up and then I said mine stood me up to and she asked me to join her and I obliged we started talking and then after we ordered our food she asked me how old I was and I told her to guess and she said I was at least in my early mid 30's and then I told her I was 20 she was kind of surprised at first because she said I looked older than that. Then I guessed that she was in her mid late 20's and she said no I'm 37 years old. I was a little surprised myself because she didn't look a day over 30 tbh based on 1st impressions. Anyways we continued our dinner and talked some more she said she worked for a company made good money etc and I make pretty good money myself at 20 working on my journeyman anyways we stayed in touch for several years after that she considered us to be a long term FWB and we would go out for dinner dates etc she always insisted on paying for everything I didn't object to this however as a traditional man I told her I want to pay for dates dinner etc not just her every time and she finally relented which im surprised she did after so long of always insisting on paying for everything and told me ok you plan the next date for us. On my 23rd birthday I planned a special date for her So the 1st destination was the Salon to have her hair and nails done 2nd I took her shopping bought her clothes shoes etc. Then I bought her a Claddagh ring at a jewelry store and she really adored and appreciated the rings beauty and I told her she wears the finger on her right hand with the heart pointing towards her to indicate she is in a relationship or with heart pointing towards her fingers to symbolize that we are just friends she put it on with the heart pointing towards her. Then we went and ate lunch then I took her to the art museum and then I took her out to dinner at a fancy restaurant and then we finished the night off by going out to the club and we danced a little bit. Then after we went back hoke she said it was the best date a man ever took her on and she said she wanted to properly thank me for it then i told her i had fallen in love with her and she got teary eyed when i said it and hugged and kissed me and said shenhas fallen for me to long story short she said tonight i wont have to wear a condom and that night I ended up getting her pregnant and 2 months later when she told me the news I was so happy and her parents already really liked then when we announced the pregnancy her family was really excited and happy for us and at the dinner I planned i got on my knees and asked her to marry me she started crying and screaming yes then I put the ring on her right finger to symbolize we were getting married everyone in the crowd was cheering. Now I'm 32 years old and my wife is 49nwe have a 9 year old son still together to this day and we are intimate at least once a day sometimes 2x.
If you thought the story is over I still have more to add over the years we've been together both me and wife have been subjected to negative stereotypes because of our age gap. Most common stereotypes against me are
1) he is just using her for her money which is completely false
2) That's probably his "Mother" like an adult mommy and that 1 particular infuriates both of us wife actually punched a woman in the face for saying it.
3) YOU can't find anyone your own age. I say I. Happy and she's happy it's none of your damn business.
The most common stereotypes my wife gets are
1) She is old enough to be my mother when the word mother is uttered in regards to our relationship both me and her get real upset and angry.
2) She needs to find someone her own age.
Now sometimes my wife gets called a cougar and she said damn straight I am she is proud to admit she is then she says your just jealous cause this fine man respects me treats me good and satisfies me while your single alone and miserable.
Conclusion to my story is yes men do like younger women however certain men like me prefer an older woman it's just my own personal preference s everyone has theirs it's just important to respect life choices of others as long as their happy mind your own business and improve yourself instead of trying to pull someone into the same misery your currently in.

I used to think these relationships don't work until I learned that one of my heroes, Paul Stamets, married an older woman with kids at the start of his career and then went on to do critical research and development in mushroom science. To me, his career proved how correct his marriage was. Then someone I know married a woman 20 years older than him. I had my doubts, but his career has taken off and he loves his life and loves her. Then I followed this couple on youtube, Fitshortie Eats, and this crazy fruitarian lady found her soulmate in a younger man and then they had two kids. They are living their dream life. Could she have done this with any other man? I don't think so. Chippy is her soulmate.
My older fiance cheated on me with a younger woman, so I developed a lot of false beliefs because of that. Then I found out that he was a serial cheater from his ex girlfriends. So I had to let go of those limiting beliefs about age differences.

Okay, but that’s not what a cougar is. A cougar is a woman who is specifically interested in younger man and she only goes for younger men. Also, the interest is purely sexual. If a woman falls in love with you and she happens to be older, that’s not a cougar.
My partner is 32, I am 47. I have been called a cougar before and I feel insulted: they presuppose that I am using him, when in real fact, we love each other and neither of us was going for an age gap, which we were a little preoccupied with at first.

There is a time limit on everything. That is the brutal reality of life. No person is perfect and thus there will never be a perfect relationship. Make best use of the time you have, some opportunities are gone forever.

I'm 39. Women my age are on the verge of menopause. You can't start a family with a menopausal woman. End of story for me.
Really? I went through menopause at 58, no idea this happens to “most” women at such a young age.
My mom went trough menopause at 57. Her last child was at her 48. My dad was already too old and they stoped to have sex after that. And my grandma had the last at 52 to 53. Maybe, it's genetics.
I'm 41, so please talk for yourself, like we say over here; it will be what you perceive; see it as a start with experience of what & who you do not want. It's better to have no relationship than a toxic one; and there are lots of reasons why women haven't started a family yet at our age; like illnesses in the past, etcetera. Women our age can still start a family; do not start shaming-victimizing us/self. Not all men want someone who has so little of life experience; not all men are the same, just like not all women are the same. I have a babyface; that means I am 41, I look like I am 25, and I am still waiting till someone of about my own age starts a talk with me ;p I mean, if that would be truth, that they want a young woman, then why are only young men interested in me, because of my babyface (them thinking I am around their own age); people/men of MY own age stay on a safe distance because of my babyface; because they 'think' I am too young, but well, I cannot walk around yelling my age, can I? ;p Most people even do not believe my age, well, it's a kind of mess in a way. If I want to have a solid relationship with a woman, I will want to court/date her at least for two years before I want to start a family with her. A 39-year-old who wants to have children cannot afford to wait for two years, her fertility window is closing too rapidly.
I've known mature 19-year-olds and I've known immature 37-year-olds. Women who do not think ahead will only start thinking about long-term goals when her options start to deteriorate. I wish it weren't so but experience has shown me otherwise.

It takes more than your age for children to be healthy. I do not know how many women you had who were 40 and had problems with giving birth, but I do not know them personally. But I believe you are interested in people with a younger clock, and that's totally fine with me; each has to look for what he believes is more important in life: the age of the woman, I think it is more about the looks in first place if i read the general comments, not about the health inside and the future (because she TOO will age at a point); because you can look pretty and be younger of biological age but that doesn't mean you are healthier inside to deliver or grow a baby inside. I am not letting society tell me what to expect, but I understand if you are sure that a young woman will be better as a mother to your child and have a healthier delivery of it, one can only wish for but a body is more complex than that, and you do not see that with your eyes, you just hope you are right. Most important, but that is something personal, is self-love, so then you can have healthy love for someone else and not neediness; if children is number 1 priority, well, you could meet a young one who doesn't want or can have children as well... or who thinks; well, I am like you, I want to wait till I myself am 30 or 35 to start, because 19 is too young for me personally (for example) to start having children because you want them within 2 years... (like your clock is ticking, but the clock of a 19 year old might stop ticking for another 10-20 years and she will be still fine too... But hey, we do not have to make it that complex; let self-love lead the way... If people are meant to have children, that will come, and else we will have to accept it too...
I notice that when we talk about this topic, a lot of people just have the vision of the 21 year old girl dating a 50-60 year old man which are not the most common age gaps. When we talk about men going for younger women and women being attracted by older men, the most common scenario are women in their 20's going for men in their 30's and early 40's. And yes this tendency happens from the earliest days. Girls in school are usually more attracted by boys a grade or two higher, it's very rare that a married woman is the exact same age or older than her husbands, usually the man is at least a few years older. Plus, most women openly admit not dating men younger than them even for just a year of difference.

My husband and I are 18 years apart. People online believe that my husband doesn't really love me but I know he does and has proved it. I couldn't be happier. ❤ My husband matches these qualities of the older man. He's actually 47 right now lol. One of the first things that attracted him to me is how informative I was about myself, I took care of myself and had a bubbly, welcoming attitude.
My bf and I are 20 years apart. We have a lot of haters, not just from older women but from older men who are jealous because they haven’t pulled a young woman.

@elise9537 he listens to me, has helped me form positive coping skills when all I used to do was punch things and drink. We're both sober. He is a really hard worker and knows about various topics. He's super creative and artistic. He's super in tune with his feelings and makes me laugh. He cares a lot about communicating with me. He's just super easy to be around. Hes level headed and chill as a cucumber. I'm also the one who came on to him, not the other way around as many think. We talked over the phone and bonded over family, Magik the gathering and anime. We're huge nerds.

@elise9537 I've been sexually assaulted 7 times because my ex pimped me out for 6 years. I also had a boyfriend before this that later had 2 instances where he touched or pressured kids. This was a couple years after i broke up with him. He is a registered sex offender and was only a year older than me. He was incredibly threatening to be around and would blow up at anything. I broke up with him in a public place.
My husband is the first man my parents have ever liked. My ex also didn't work for the majority of our 7 year relationship. He used drugs while I was pregnant with his son and would hide it from me. Obviously I found out. We had an open adoption with my best friends family. My ex isn't in the picture and doesn't talk to his son at all and doesn't care. I talk to my son when I can, and my husband and I pick out bday and Xmas gifts to send him every year. They live a few states away. Honestly it's one of the best decisions I ever made aside from getting away from my neglectful ex and getting clean. I'm almost 3 years sober. I'm a straight A student. I think the biggest problem a lot of women can have is when these things happen, they can blame men as a sex. These individuals that hurt me don't make up all men and remembering that is how I found a good man whose good for my mental and physical health.
When I was in my early twenties, I went with men much older than I was and it was because I was, frankly, super shy. I mean painfully socially shy - trying to speak to a guy my own age was really difficult because I was so intimidated esp. if he was good-looking. With older men, I didn't feel that intimidation because honestly, it sort of just felt like being with my dad. And they were so happy to be with someone much younger that I didn't have to do anything aside from be young and pretty. I didn't have to try or impress them in anyway - my youth itself was enough to make them want me (although, of course, I didn't realize that at the time.) Sometimes I do feel like I kind of wasted my youth in those types of relationships, but, then, we all do the best we can in the end...
When I was in 20's I never wanted much older men. I always had an attraction to men my age or 2 years older. Older men ages you when you are young. I've seen that with some women. They are young women and they starts looking just as old as the older man they are with. By 30 years old, they looking like 40.

I've been tossed aside by my sons mother for a neurosurgeon in his late 40's. She would have never met him had I not helped her to enter her career choice by becoming the stay at home father. It has not been an enjoyable experience(I've separated from her, and now have a 50/50 parenting schedule), but it has given me insights of great value. I wished I could have kept the family together, but letting her use me in the ways she did was unacceptable to me. At 26 I started dating a 19-year-old girl. She was madly in love, but the age gap actually seemed to be a problem in the sense that she was constantly insecure about how much further advanced I was in life compared to her (degree, adult job, knowledge, etc.) and felt incompetent. Despite her impressive efforts there was a gap in IQ as well, which didn't help her confidence either. So fellas, keep an eye out for those insecurities when you try younger women.

When my children were younger I employed young women, wanting to take a year break from their studies, to help with child care. I did this for 4 years with 4 different women. Each one at least once, was hit on by a man in their 40s/50s while working for me. Their advances were not received well in ANY of the cases. One woman working for me even came home scared and in tears. When I was in my early twenties I dated a man in his late 30s. It only lasted 6 months, we had little in common, we were in different places in our lives. A 15 year or less gap works, in my opinion, but when it goes beyond that....I personally have never seen a good outcome. My uncle, for example, was 30 years older than my aunt. My cousins were very sad when they lost their father as teenagers, and my aunt became a widow at 50. I'll be real honest about men who do this to young women with the 20yr age gap. Recently, a guy I've been friends with for a very long time, he went after these women and he's 53 and the women are 26-30 years old. The only reason why he did this was for sex. The reason is very simple in terms of evolution. Women have a limited fertile age range. Men have to accumulate resources and status to support women during childbearing and rearing. In the past high child mortality meant that neither sex had the luxury not to use the woman's limited fertility window to its full (8 to 14 children was normal), hence men's fertility window extends much longer than women's.

I think this may be the case when the women don't have money. The women I grew up with were career women and had their own money. They expected a handsome man about the same age. They were just as shallow about looks as men.
"To want" means "to lack." So it makes sense that people want what they don't have, and to want less what they do. That said, by the time career women (or career men) come into their own financially, they're generally already in their early 30s.
It's also important to understand that older men don't simply represent the possibility of access to greater resources. Older men typically have established lifestyles, emotional self-control, sexual experience, communication skills, etc.

I've been on both ends of this. I dated women 20+ years older than me, and now I'm with a woman 17 years younger. It happens. But I know that even though I dated older women successfully, I'm in the minority of men. Overall, younger women are simply more attractive, and many women don't wanna hear that. Too many woman under 30 are too immature and unstable. Some women are physically beautiful between 20 to 30 years but a woman’s overall attractiveness peaks between 30 to 40 years.
I'm 71, my new wife is 21. i can still bench press 200 lbs, squat 250, deadlift 250. I dont really work at the free weights, either. I teach karate and shooting and I knew to go get a third worlder who has brains enough to realize that a free college ride and US citizenship is worth a million $ in the US and in her country, it's worth 10x that much. She's got a young son who needs a daddy, too. I'm retired on a decent income, so I've got plenty of time for her and him and I need to be engaged. We both understand that our marriage is not likely to last 10 years and maybe not even 5. However, she's a hard working sweetheart who loves learning and I love to teach. She's also a real hottie.

When I was 25 I met the love of my life, he was 63! I found him irresistible and he was wise and loving, he also had enough money to take care of me. I was totally fulfilled by the love and didn’t even care about much money anymore. I think the maturity and wisdom of older men is very attractive to some younger women.
