Simon, please forgive my ignorance, I use apple motion to do little title work, some effects and transitions. If I wanted to use this green screen keyer of yours, I would want to take a raw clip and run it through motion before bringing it to FCPX, correct? Again, I'm a 5 year newb but am quickly understanding how powerful apple motion is.
It's a good question. If you are an experienced Motion template creator (more experienced than I am) then you could probably turn this into a template for FCP ... probably. But otherwise staying in Motion makes more sense. But I should stress that the reason for this tutorial series was principally about explaining the concepts behind keying rather than making a sort of drag and drop solution to all your keying problems. Having said that, you can get a much better key if you adopt these techniques than you could ever get with the appalling built-in Apple Keyer ...
Deeply be appreciate your explanations, Simon! Very useful info.
This summary really helped tie everything together, thank you.
Excellent breakdown of the process
Great series, thank you. I will certainly revisit it more than a few times along with the compositing series on your channel.
great series!
Thank you for this super helpful and insightful series!
Thank you.
