I bought one of these the other day. When I got home from my first run I didn’t realise that the remote was on 75%😂. I was totally blown away with the speed on 75% I haven’t powered it up to 100%. 😂😅 I’m getting an infraction 3s black and gold tomorrow morning! 🎉❤. I’m so excited!!!
@@buddahGump no definitely not stock, stock pinion is 15t. He kept the electronics stock. So stock esc stock motor, stock steering servo with a 3s battery. Only changing the gears to get eighty one miles per hour.
Long road, good lipos. Going fast isn't that easy with the stock electronics. The pinion comes off like any other pinion does. You need another motor mount so you can adjust the motor out for clearance of the spur. Good luck with it.

You’re the man Bro for getting 80mph! I just bought one last week. I tried putting a 34t pinion but it doesn’t fit. I even bought the bigger adjustable motor mount and it still doesn’t fit. I currently have a 29t on there and I want to go bigger. Do you know where I can get a smaller spur gear maybe ? Or how can I get a bigger pinion on it besides the 29t I have on it? Thx much
The new version has a different motor mount than mine came with. I used a Hot racing mount. I haven't seen a smaller spur but I haven't looked in a while either though.

It was ok for flat areas but was a little much for high grass and hills. Keep in mind mine is not the new one with spektrum electronics. Mine has the last year model BLX electronics Basically the same performance though from what I hear.

Hows it going Coach! Those zip ties were to keep the shocks compressed to lower it closer to the ground for more speed and to help keep it from wanting to flip over. This was my yard basher at the time and I was too lazy to tear the shocks down and add internal stops so I just pulled them down with zip ties to lower it for the speed run challenge . I can't remember what I used. It was my everyday basher until I decided to enter Driftomanaics stock electro speed run challenge and I swapped it out. It's now back as my go to basher.

I just hit 67.6 yesterday with some larger tires on my Typhon 3s v3, and I'm running a power hobby 75 C 3s 7600 mah. The only reason I couldn't go faster was because the stock ESC was cutting out because of overcurrent protection kicking in at that speed from all the drag and other resistance factors, it was not cutting off from low voltage or thermal protection.
@@zqzj 81.1MPH was a challenge for sure (that's prolly why I won driftomaniacs speed run challenge back then) 😎 . Lots of trial and error and tweaks. Yes the esc will amp out pretty easily as well and you have to be easy on throttle. I'm not a fan of Power Hobby batteries for speed runs either.

@@rc.attucks Lol! Hoons are good but I have had a couple sets pop at 115mph in my limitless. Others have had them go in the 130's but they can come apart a lot easier than the GRP.
@@MrMad2424 I was hoping to mill the slots on a HR motor plate a little longer for a 30t with the correct lash , that way I can run a reasonable tire size, but hey the worst thing that could happen is a collection of parts that didn't for another time and project.
Sick run brother! - I was able to get 56mph out of my 3s #Typhon but I was running it stock on a 20t pinion! A 28t pinion did not blow your electronics?

@@MrMad2424 I put 2.8 trenchers on mine then a 20t pinion and the cogging was so unbearable I thought something was wrong. Did some research and dropped it to 18t and now it's drivable. Still does a little cogging but only a split second
GRP only makes two tires. 1 Treaded and 1 slick so that's easy for me to remember. gearing isn't. Thanks for the watch though and if you go out and test and hit on the gearing let me know what it is so I can update my notes.....
This was a "hot setup" and wouldn't last long running it like this. I only set it up for this kind of speed for the Driftomaniacs speed run challenge he had going at the time. It will do 60mph reliably with the 20t pinion on hard surface with no issues.

20 should be ok check temps and may have to go to 18 if you have a lot of stop and go jumps.

18t stock/ with a 20t it will do 60mph out of the box. I got videos on my channel using the 18, 20, and 27t all.

No 100% stock out of the box except for the 20t pinion from the 3s senton. It does only go 50mph out of the box though.

If you are using the spectrum controller it lags bad. Mine came with the Tactic.

A little different gearing than the box stock gearing. It's 50mph out of the box with a 15t pinion.

Sick run brother! - I was able to get 56mph out of my 3s #Typhon but I was running it stock on a 20t pinion! A 28t pinion did not blow your electronics?
Appreciate that Bro! No the electronics were fine for a few speed passes. I believe i got like 60mph with the 20t.

You can tell if an arrma has a big pinion gear by listening to the cogging from a dead stop.

@@MrMad2424 I put 2.8 trenchers on mine then a 20t pinion and the cogging was so unbearable I thought something was wrong. Did some research and dropped it to 18t and now it's drivable. Still does a little cogging but only a split second

GRP only makes two tires. 1 Treaded and 1 slick so that's easy for me to remember. gearing isn't. Thanks for the watch though and if you go out and test and hit on the gearing let me know what it is so I can update my notes.....

30 I think...can't remember. been a couple of years ago. I think I had the adjustable motor mount as well so this could fit the larger gearing.

All you did was change the pinion and the wheels?, It's no need to get the 6s version if the 3s will run like that
This was a "hot setup" and wouldn't last long running it like this. I only set it up for this kind of speed for the Driftomaniacs speed run challenge he had going at the time. It will do 60mph reliably with the 20t pinion on hard surface with no issues.
