Great run. That is a quick buggy! I have heard some say ballooning makes it slower and other say faster. In my head, I think it makes it faster. Definitely harder to control, but I like that to, the rush!
@@philipjolley1015 that I do not know. Granite 4x4 with the 4s BLX ESC and BLX 2400kv motor with 27t pinion. I haven't got to do a true speed test with 27t, blew rear diff gear teeth on 20t pinion. I was at 53 mph with it. I can't keep nose down hardly to get full throttle. I'm close though. I love and hate that it wants to wheelie at high speed!

@@philipjolley1015 horizon hobby customer service is a joke. I bought a granite about a month ago when I got it it can with 4 leaky shocks. I ran it twice and the esc quit. They would not replace because the body was scratched up

Phill, I’m currently using a firma 150amp esc with the stock motor on my typhon 3s. I’m running a 28t pinion and 57t spur on 4s. I’m stuck at 83mph, do you think a higher kV motor like a TP 3630 5250kv would get me in the 90s? Thanks for any and all help

I’m just debating if I should go to a higher KV to get more mph or to try the spool to be able to get more gearing? anyone know if the Arrma Typhon 4x4 BLX 3s has a power cut off feature that cuts off the power when the lipo battery is low? this feature is important so that you can identify that the lipo battery is low and needs recharged. in turn, this protects the battery from being used at low voltage and therefore damanging it
That's just as fast as the 6s Typhon with a 20T pinion. I didn't think that motor had it in it. I can't look at mine the same way again. I think I've done enough to this platform so I probably leave mine stock & grab a 26T pinion 😉

Same motors same speed controller just different length of chassis and tire size. Probably a different pinion size to. Il have to look it in on Horizon's website or the Arrma site and see.

Yes make a spool for it and run steel or plastic revo mod 1 gear.

Stock motor mount has a spot for 26t, and 57 spur was stock .

no I always change the connectors. or just solder up a new plug for charger.

i already had a 26t pinion. i call it optional as the mount has "options" for 13,15,20,26 pinions..
I did set my punch setting up all the way on high that thing takes off like know other car you can see a video on TH-cam about your punch setting

Possible, but my guess is a mmx8s would benefit you more. They wont cut out due to amps.

No, i had it already. The motor mount has 4 options for pinions. 26 being one option.

We tested ours with the 15 tooth and it went 41mph with 3s lipo 50c 11.4v
