The new Dune Prophecy trailer has arrived and it's mostly another solid look at the upcoming HBO show. I breakdown the new footage and give you my reaction to it.

I feel more positive than negative about this series. A lot of good actors, it looks good visually and the story is quite interesting in my opinion. I would love to see the remains of the AI 😁!
As long as it is able to be more Dune instead of space Game of Thrones, then I'm fully hyped. Hopefully a proper trailer gives a better look into these ideas.

Finally, can someone give a glimpse of what this series could be like by giving some light on the characters and story, as all other channels don't seem to be in the mood to give details of Brian Herbert and Kevin J Anderson's book for those who haven't read it yet.
Because those books aren’t of the same caliber as the Dune series. Not by a long shot. They are ok, a bit pulpy and may or may not have been based on notes from Frank Herbert in life but either way, just ok. The very vocal minority of Herbert fans who are angry that the movie isn’t just the actors acting out the book verbatim blah blah…. Small but vocal minority.
@@codename495 I haven't had the opportunity to read a single book by Brian Herbert because they haven't been released here in my country yet, so I can't say what you're saying, as it's up to each person what they think of a book, but I can only agree with that. with you is that it is obvious that his works did not come close to what was the material established by the Father

It looks great. My only concern is the great focus on just The Sisterhood. Will The Spacing Guild play a part in the building of The Imperium? As this is right after the war of the thinking machines, The Guild is way more important for there monopoly on space travel. One thing I hope they do is if this is based off the Sisterhood books,that series 2 is focused on the Spacing Guild books.
This comes from the books written by Herbert's son. Each of the prequal books focuses on a different aspect of the imperium but the main storyline in the series is about the effects of the Bene Gesserit goals and programs. The origins of the guild and sisterhood are also closely linked.
I immediately thought " Samantha Morton is going to be awesome in this". Then, I thought "Oops, that's not Samantha Morton" 😆Both actresses are awesome but I just realized how similar they look.
I have a hard time getting excited for a prequel that's set in a completely different era with completely different characters... but I have an even harder time NOT getting excited for more Dune. Who knows, it might end up being really good. Dune definitely lends itself to timelines that are millennia in length, and the Bene Gesserit in particular are known to think and operate on that kind of scale. Looking forward to it... if nothing else it will be a nice distraction while we wait for Part 3.
Noooo. Good cast but the direction is not up to the mark. The dune movies are a work of art, the music, the cinematography, the sequences, smooth flow from one frame to the next. It is not what is said for the lyrics spoken by the actors but rather what is in between, the subtle subliminal messages, the glimpses of power and the magic it creates. This series will not live up to it. No sir

Can you Gen Z-ers lift your noses out of your phones for a minute and just read the original books (that's words written on p-a-p-e-r bound together) :-[

Yeah, i really like the look of him and emily watson.
It really gives the feel of how the Corrinos used to be mighty, competent rulers, as opposed to the sheer decline culminating with Shaddam IV.

It is Frank Herberts saga. He wrote the books.
