It was raining in the morning, and by midday the rain had stopped and it was cloudy at the Higashiyama Zoo.
Shabani and Kiyomasa were spending the morning getting along well.
Kiyomasa played well with his sister Annie, and Annie played well with her mother Ai.
The Shabani family was doing nothing out of the ordinary, but before noon, things changed drastically.
Shabani's son Kiyomasa was showing off (displaying) to Shabani, and Shabani was showing off back to Kiyomasa.
It was a very tense situation, but by lunch time, both sides had cooled down and were back to the usual Shabani family.

Nene was born wild in Cameroon.
The other three were born in the Higashiyama Zoo in Japan.

This is so sad to be in a concrete enclosure with knotted ropes to climb on as opposed to their natural environment and trees. This is heartbreaking.💔😢

Unfortunately, animals adapt to the environment they are FORCED to live in.
Unfortunately if placed in their natural environment right now they’d be all killed by poachers within a year. Not to mention the only gorilla not born in captivity of this troop is Nene and she’s over fifty years old.
@@jujubegoldmakes you wonder, these magical animals can live in the mountains, and jungles, why can't we just grab enough orangutans, gorillas, and any apes or monkeys or any animals for that matter, that wouldn't hurt the environment and could adapt and survive, should be brought to the Americas and released into the jungles here, they could survive and be relatively poacher free. And could live better and happier lives. And could probably benefit our environment, but nope.
Shabani Rock's in the rain. I love it when Shabs displays, he is a magnificent silverback & the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, enter Kiyomasa, he is rather slimmer than I remember. I'm in no doubt things will kick off again soon. Ty.✴️

I love there incloser and they living. Quarters. It's amazing great job b. Hands up to v the owner he must really love garrillas to make them such a beautiful. Home and incloser. The best I ever seen so far one of the best like. London zoo God bless great job I love garrillas more than I love humans. Garrillas are related to us they deserve to be happy and free I no there indangerd. So the zoo protects them from pochers. Kiyomasa spent a lot of time posturing in front of his dad until Shabani put the run on him. I love how Annie ran between them to shield her brother, but Shabani showed Kiyomasa his place in the troop hierarchy. Shabani rules!

I love watching Shabani in the rain. He loves the water. I remember back in their old outside enclosure when he'd play in the cement sand box looking pool. He'd play and play, then wash himself. He wouldn't let Ai in it either. He's hilarious.🤣💖💦

It's hard for me too watch these videos of these animals in captivity. They just look out of place. Concrete enclosures and fences, but this is their forever homes😢.
They probably feel like enslaved humans. These animals have spirit, love, family structure. Seem very human like maybe better in so regards😢❤.
It saddens me seeing such beautiful an majestic creatures incarcerated in what seems to a horrible existence for them. They appear to be living with endless amounts of boredom and frustration being looked at all the time. It’s easy to see this by Creatures that able to express themselves with such intelligence. They don’t even have something soft to lay on like in the wild. Ironically neither do our incarcerated humans. At least humans know why they are where they are.. these creatures need to be returned to the wild. I really don’t see any purpose in zoos other than to heal it hurt or sick animal a breeding program for endangered species.. I just think they should be shut down because it’s cruel and demeaning and we’re better than that.

It's like being in jail
In our human code of justice this is called ‘life imprisonment without the possibility of parole’. That sentence is prescribed only for those guilty of heinous criminal behavior. These gorillas are guilty of nothing. It is disgusting that we subject them to our worst criminal punishments, so we can be entertained. That begs the question, is it the jailer or the incarcerated that is the uncivilized species?
They look like prisoners.. They are prisoners being punished for no crimes. They have committed no crime so why are they sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole? You could at least out them in a place like wildlife Safari in Winston Oregon. They would have miles of freedom with others just like them. We cannot allow these big powerful beautiful beings to be treated this way. Where is this place? Wheres the protesters? Wheres the ALM? ANIMAL LIVES MATTER. THIS MAKES ME SO UPSET THAT WE ALLOW THIS AND PAY FOR OUR CHILDREN TO SEE SUCH TORTURE TO ANOTHER PART OF GODS CREATION. 😢😢.

Why is the food scattered all over the place.? Why don't they put it in a container where there is enough for everyone, and where they can go whenever they are hungry. It's only vegetables and not very expensive. Instead they make the gorillas pick up scattered scraps all over the ground. Not cool, in my opinion.
The zookeepers want to make the gorillas work a little for their food, not have it in a handy container. Other zoos hide food in all sorts of places to keep the gorillas on their toes.
