As a (human) dad of three little ones, I feel this fellow dad’s aggravation 😂. Especially when the little one refuses his help to get back up. He just takes him and rolls him back down the hill like “you little shit!” 😂.

I heard an expert explain the importance of rough housing and it was pretty fascinating. Even the part where they get hurt and cry is important. They're learning limits. You're learning empathy by knowing what's painful to other people. Even falling out of trees is important. You fall out of the tree when you're a kid so you don't fall off the mountain when you're an adult.
nonsense.....apes die from falls out of trees as one example..and they can severely injure themselves....its not about learning how to fall out of a tree so you dont fall off a mountain...since the vast majority of apes DO NOT live near mountains...they live in jungles...and rain forests...
Love how the dad get up BEFORE the little one rolled down the hill. Just like us they have that instinct to know exactly what’s about to happen and automatically jump into action. This reminds me very much of my younger brothers as little boys. It looked like they were tearing each other apart but they just got up laughing. Just like these brothers.

I'm not sure gorillas understand the concept of what is fair and what is not. All animals play but we are the only ones who have rules with our play. Gorillas don't have referees and rule books. Id imagine if they understood those concepts, maybe you'd see dad being a legit referee rather than sitting on his ass watching haha

The arm is supposed to be an invisible line, and the boy didnt listen and walked past anyway, so he pushed him back down. The video about the spy baby gorilla robot explains the arm gesture. I think he walks away after pushing the boy because he decided not to bother since he wont listen anyway
I love that DJ lets the boys wrestle and rumble, and only intervenes when necessary. He loves teaches and corrects just like human dads do. This dad is actually doing an amazing job. He's nearby, yet giving them enough freedom to feel safe to explore their surroundings. He checks on them when they get too rough and let's them do their thing again, he's also consistent. This teaches them to have secure attachment styles. ❤
