I love your channel, I've gone from using a traditional stack/fx loop for an extensive pedalboard to using a QC with a power amp, and your videos have got me feeling ready and comfortable before I tour all summer with it

Thank you so much. I really struggle with compression and this simplified this for me. Also, for EQ, your explanation helped greatly. I see the desktop app has the graphic display for the 9 band graphic. That helps as I am a visual person. Thanks again.

Love the information and videos you are providing for the QC community!
I think another cool idea for a video would be to somehow show the affect of fletcher munson and the difference between presets / frequencies at low recording volume as opposed to loud gig volume.

Thanks for all you continue to do for us here. Merry Christmas! I have not used my QC recently, but I am storing up all you videos for a primer on so many subjects.

I used a compressor pedal and loved it on an analog board. However when I first got the cortex, I didn’t like the compressors.
I found a preset that had a solid state comp in the front and I liked it so I’ve stuck with it. I might try the jewel again though. It was real squashy to me but maybe I was the problem lol.

Thanks for making all of these videos…..extremely helpful. Question: I have been struggling to find the best global EQ setting for clean tones. I get the importance of personal preference, but I can’t seem to find a quality sound across the board. (SSS fender strat). Do you, or anyone else, have a descent starting point? Or is global EQ the wrong place to start.

I would not start with the EQ, either global or in any preset block. Like in real life it stays with the amp and, just as important, the cab IR. Try some captures to see if that gets you more what you want. Try some of the free Amalgam stuff or something.

Hello my friend. I was hoping you could help me with a question. I have a Line 6 Power Cab 112. Not the Plus model. It has the built in speaker emulations. I have never really loved how the QC sounds with it no matter what I have tried. I like the sound of my QC better played through my old Yamaha receiver into my bookshelf speakers better. Small room maybe? I don't play with much volume at all. That being said, I guess I really don't understand the relationship between IR's to speakers and how they work together. Have you addressed this before on a vid? You are doing great work here and I am so glad you are a part of the QC community.

Are you using the Powercab in Speaker Modeling mode? If you have cab locks or IRs running on the QC and are also using the Powercab in Speaker Modeling mode then in essence its like running an amp through one speaker, miking it, and then running that signal through another speaker. And that it will darker/dull the tone. I've never used the Powercab myself (I run through studio monitors), but that's the first thing that comes to mind.

@@davlavmusic7070 Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I have tried it both ways. I just think it sounds better through my receiver and bookshelf speakers. It sounds great through the FOH at church though. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that at home it is a small room and I don’t play very loud at all. Therefore the little speakers seem to sound better. Does that ring true to you? Appreciate you taking the time to respond!
