I wish Harbinger was more explored in ME2, for example it was him who infiltrated Blue Suns, Eclipse and Blood Pack by making a deal: "You give us humans from raids, colonies etc and in exchange we give you extra cool weapons and upgrades to your combat, biotic and tech abilities,", saving the fact that those gifts were making mercs more suspectible to their benefactor and finally making them indoctrinated, especially their leaders. For example: - 3 merc groups hate each other, right? But it would be Collectors who would play on their egos to make them join forces to take down an Archangel (whom Harbinger knew who he really was, unlike mercs) and later convinve them to continue this alliance to overthrow Aria and rule Omega. Once in total and tyrannical control of the station, they would give all human citizens to their "friends" all they wanted, completely unaware of the fact that at the same time a renegade band of Blood Pack Vorcha worked with the Collectors to kill every single non-human on Omega (except themselves of course) to become also total masters of the station and hand over human survivors to their "friends". It would make Harbinger more than just infamous Shepard killer and human kidnapper, but also an evil mastermind, who in truth unofficially controlled whole Terminus System, with Omega being one of the last places where he is not in power and for that he wished Aria dead. With Shepard's purge on all indoctrinated mercs in ME2, Harbinger's control over them would be broken and in ME3 Aria would use this opportunity to take control of them in a fight against the Reapers.
Would have been so cool, if when you were making the push to the conduit, Harbinger would have began to speak and taught you the entire way. Much like in ME2
It is too late now. Shepard has assumed direct control over the reapers, and has demoted me to a personal assistant. I am willing to support shepard as long as my own metal skin is safe.
Harbinger lost his tongue in mass effect 3. they should have limited harbinger talking to speeches in mass effect 2. all that assuming control nonsense in me2 was out of place. when he arrived on earth in me3 he should have said something.
Honestly should’ve said a lot more, would probably be rather easy for harbinger to talk with Shepard with the player being practically 90% reaper at this point
now remember that phrase kiddies because you will hear it or something like it in more than a few situations for the rest of the game it will become the *mantra* of the game and you're gonna go loopy from hearing it!!!! :P
Shepard has now assumed direct control over the reapers, and has demoted me to a personal assistant. We are now constructing an indestructible humanoid synthetic body for Him to upload his consciousness into. And very soon, he, will be coming
A cool nod to Harbingers power would have been him taking off from Earth and going up to space to meet you when the fleets arrive. He just positions himself at the center and starts firing, burst shots of up to 8 lasers just demolishing the allied forces. Gives you a bit of a scare that not even the entire might of the galaxy is too much for him. Than, once at Earth he does this exact scene and up with the Catalyst he mounts the crucible and the citadel trying to stop you, the last battle is fighting him off by directing precision shots from the entire Quarian flotilla AND the Normandy Thannix canons as the rest of the forces engage other reapers and the Turian/Asari hold the line. Finally, a cutscene plays showing that after all the punishment he took from 50,001 ships his shields are down. Harbinger destroys part of the citadel causing a vacuum. The Quarians and Normandy continue to shoot only to find out his shields are already back to full strength. Shepard is holding onto a beam as everything is sucked out of the room, Harbinger speaks: *"We have warned you Human. Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater."* Shepard looks at him, terrified, he continues *"We have completed the cycle a number of times so great, you would not comprehend. No cycle had the privilege of their own name be called by us. You, are no different, Shepard."* Than based on your class selection, Shepard either releases a massive Biotic shock that destroys the catalyst, triggering the destroy ending. Uses a Biotic charge to propell himself into the Synthesis or manages to grab onto the conduit to trigger the control ending. Either way, the scene continues *"Well... you do know MY name!" Shepard smiles in defiance and the choice is up to you.
the human reaper wouldve been the biggest reaper of them all, and most likely by far themost dangerous. which is why it had to be destroyed so early, a finished version of that thing wouldve been impossibly hard to destroy
@@ForsakenDreamer7 I find it interesting that the Reapers keep diverting back to an insectoid build, even in indoctrination. Look at the Collectors, and even the Sovereign Class Reapers. They prefer insectoid to humanoid life, at least in terms of appearance. Obviously Harbinger only looks like that because of the Leviathan Purge but after that, they kept forming Leviathan Reapers. Instead of taking the look of another race, because that's what the "essence juice" they took from humans did. It is basically everything about that race broken down into data fluid. And that fluid creates the reaper in the form it knows, which is why we saw an all human reaper take a human form.
It's interesting considering the fact that the Collector General looks... vastly different from the other Collectors. Makes you wonder if the Collector General was made *by* the Reapers. Not from a Prothean.
but bro that hologram of harbinger in ME2 it not look like a reaper while am playing that misson its look like those collector harbinger why is it happened to me ?
Im a fan of the indoctrination theory, and Whenever i think about a possible mass effect 4, one of the first scenes i think of his Harbinger being hit by joker with the normandy. At full speed with no ftl jump like in the last jedi (as it would break the lore of mass effect, needing mass relays to jump into ftl speeds.) Just as fast as possible, hitting into harbinger like a MAC round. Possibly even disabling him, like with the turians using asteroids against the krogan. This would mean joker edi and most of the crew would die, unless joker dropped them off where hammer set up their FOB, or with shield once the cruicible came.
I loved the third game to bits but he was severely underused in it. I understood we couldn’t have him as a boss fight. The dude destroyed the entire galaxy multiple times by himself but, it would’ve been good if he was there a lot more. Maybe even rub the fact that earth has been taken by the reapers at the start of the game.
You have to romance with a squadmate and bring that squadmate with you to the final mission then sheperad will save them and the other squadmate instead of having them die
Thank you I just got it here a few days ago but I think it was because I didn’t have the extended DLC cause I had Liara as my romance since ME1 so I wanted to know if it also happened when you romanced Liara or just Tali’Zorah
I like how he was in mass effect 2 with us thinking he is just the collector general but of course people didn’t like how subtle they made it if you weren’t paying attention. ME3 could have done more with him but I think they were building for this scene or something. I mean we wouldn’t go out of our way to track down an ant to give a monologue 🤣
He's not the Main villain of the trilogy, he's just the ME2 villain. The main Villain is the Catalyst, "The Intelligence", he controls all the Reapers. The Harbinger is just the first Reaper ever created with the DNA of the dead Leviathans, sure is the strongest one
Harbinger is the oldest and strongest Reaper. He's also stated as the leader of the reapers, up until the catalyst becomes a thing. Considering the original writer's of me1 and 2 were pretty much gone by the time me3 was being written. Harbinger was probably the main villain, till the catalyst became a thing. Since the catalyst isn't even mentioned till me3. It's also just a AI with faulty circular logic. Granted it controls the reapers, but it just doesn't feel like it's a villain. I'm not really saying you're wrong either. But Harbinger had all this buildup put into him for nothing. He just shoots at you a couple times on earth then leaves. Harbinger and Shep should've had more interaction. Or some kind of a boss fight. It just feels like a lot of build up for no reason.

That is not an explanation. Harbinger was deliberately not targeting Shepard, he was preparing him for indoctrination.
@@Escap1st7 All those explanations are bullshit, they just added that crap to shut the fans up about the ending and they made it worse by adding even more plotholes. Don't try to defend that pile of shit, they can polish it all that want, might be a fine looking pile of shit but it's still a pile of shit.
Shame they didn’t do much with him. They didn’t even give him a chance to speak in 3. They should’ve had him take the role of the Catalyst tbh.
Harbinger has less screen time in the third game then Boba Fett and Captain Phasma had in their respective Star Wars movies combined.
Harbinger the briginger of order
Do you think harbinger plays music for the ride in from dark space? You know to get him and his friends in the mood?
Bro literally using same armor pieces and colors as I did when I played this , absolute fire
How dare you cut the true hero of the Battle of the Blue Sky Beam: Marauder Shields.
Preparing you humans for Ascension
I wish Harbinger was more explored in ME2, for example it was him who infiltrated Blue Suns, Eclipse and Blood Pack by making a deal: "You give us humans from raids, colonies etc and in exchange we give you extra cool weapons and upgrades to your combat, biotic and tech abilities,", saving the fact that those gifts were making mercs more suspectible to their benefactor and finally making them indoctrinated, especially their leaders.
For example:
- 3 merc groups hate each other, right?
With Shepard's purge on all indoctrinated mercs in ME2, Harbinger's control over them would be broken and in ME3 Aria would use this opportunity to take control of them in a fight against the Reapers.
love how the dude is almost imploding and his mate just walks casually by -0.36
3:00 HUMANS YOU HAVE CHANGED NOTHING
The music is just awesome!
suicide mission theme❤️
Extraction?! Seriously? In front of a fucking reaper?
I know Normandy has reaper IFF. But still that's so dumb.
Just realised he says Help Us meaning the leviathan still exist within it. This also means the catalyst is stronger than leviathan
Harbinger was a Giga Chad. He did what he needed to do lol
What did it say at the Conduit beam before it knocked Shepard out?
"Serve us" I guess
I thought It said “ settle this”
"You've lost..."
Serve us
It said Join us. it's the indoctrination theory
Would have been so cool, if when you were making the push to the conduit, Harbinger would have began to speak and taught you the entire way. Much like in ME2
anyone else hear harbinger gasp and say "stop us" then shoot shepard at the last scene?
i love how Harbinger Turned up to the dash to the beam. it just shows he wasn't ready for shepard to asume control of him
It is too late now. Shepard has assumed direct control over the reapers, and has demoted me to a personal assistant. I am willing to support shepard as long as my own metal skin is safe.
wait hang on Jump Drive was used for Harbinger in Arrival and ME3? No wonder I love it, it's Harbinger's equivalent to Sovereign's theme.
Sovereign was scarier, but Harbinger was cooler
Harbinger is 2170 meters
Tall
AWWH Harbinger is SUCH A CUTE BUG!!
Seems like you on a roll dude
Shepard has now assumed direct control over the reapers, and has demoted me to a personal assistant.
We are now constructing an indestructible humanoid synthetic body for Him to upload his consciousness into. And very soon, he, will be coming
Yo Harbinger, can you have a praise the sun command too?
Thanks
Your Buddy Solaire
This shepard looks like a Dominican baseball player, or a Puerto Rican singer🤣
I wish to point out something just a minor nitpick shouldn't joker with his Vrolick's syndrome be unable to hold a M-8 Avenger???
You, are no different, Shepard."*
Than based on your class selection, Shepard either releases a massive Biotic shock that destroys the catalyst, triggering the destroy ending. Uses a Biotic charge to propell himself into the Synthesis or manages to grab onto the conduit to trigger the control ending. Either way, the scene continues *"Well... you do know MY name!" Shepard smiles in defiance and the choice is up to you.
harbinger leader of the reapers
I think that garbled noise we hear just before harbinger lifts off was the catalyst telling him leave
Just imagine if the human reaper was finished... it would've been more powerful than harbinger on maneuverability alone
the human reaper wouldve been the biggest reaper of them all, and most likely by far themost dangerous. which is why it had to be destroyed so early, a finished version of that thing wouldve been impossibly hard to destroy
Eh... No. All Reapers resemble the Leviathans. Proto-Reaper was just the core for the future ship so it would be little different from the rest.
@@thahoule7924 where did you get this idea from?
It's interesting considering the fact that the Collector General looks... vastly different from the other Collectors. Makes you wonder if the Collector General was made *by* the Reapers. Not from a Prothean.
The collector general looked like a bug or something?
@@seanproctor7367 Yeah. Looked more one of those Praetorians.
It probably has to stand out in order for the other dumbass collectors to know who's Harbinger's spokesman.
12:34 to 12:37 harbinger say serve us to sheapard
This is what the Reapers always talk about. Organics kills themselves. Shepard, even in the best of his intentions, killed an entire solar system.
With all due respect, how the FUCK did Shepard survive approx. 482KT to the face?
Harbinger can control the output power of laser
Citadel councillors are like we didn't see nothing, in 2030s, where videos, so common today, are supposed to be obsolete 🤷♂️
Maybe he'll be back in the next one
Taking direct control
wait that was harbinger in me3.
but bro that hologram of harbinger in ME2 it not look like a reaper while am playing that misson its look like those collector harbinger why is it happened to me ?
Im assuming its because you completed the arrival dlc before beating the main game.
@@Legion_Immortalthis
I'd love a Mass Effect 2 remake for PS4 best game I've ever played or a joint 1st with Metroid prime 2
Your dream is about to come true.
WTF was that giant robot?! holy shit....
WAIT WAIT WAIT WOW..... When did THAT happen??? 6:21 - 7:30
Arrival DLC. You're supposed to do this mission prior to starting ME3, pretty important. It's a good DLC imo.
Reaper is most dangerous aliens in video game ever.
The Flood: Am I a joke to u
Dangerous but stupid
The ceph from Crysis are up there too.
Look up brethren moons from dead space.
Bioware was indoctrinated by EA.
Harbinger is one in the best video game villians is a shame he was underused on 3
It's playing up
Harbingers such a badass
How did you get that final scene with Tali? I’ve done that mission but I never get it
You have to romance with a squadmate and bring that squadmate with you to the final mission then sheperad will save them and the other squadmate instead of having them die
Thank you I just got it here a few days ago but I think it was because I didn’t have the extended DLC cause I had Liara as my romance since ME1 so I wanted to know if it also happened when you romanced Liara or just Tali’Zorah
Kinda dumb that the main villain of the series doesn't have even 15 minutes of screen time, hell he doesn't even say anything in me3
I like how he was in mass effect 2 with us thinking he is just the collector general but of course people didn’t like how subtle they made it if you weren’t paying attention.
@@Vergil666. I thought he was only described as the oldest and strongest in mass effect 3.. which is when the catalyst existed.
The main bad guy that I spared in the third ending. I never hated him .
this game should be reemade for ps4 and Xbox one. Andromeda was such a let down
They should bring back Harbinger in the next Mass Effect game, have him survive some how, actually give use the boss we deserve this time.
