Mordin shouldered the burden of the Salarians' sin of the genophage and sought to correct it. It's a redemption that could bring an entire species back from the brink. I think some former soldiers or scientists wished that it could be a possible way to correct wrongs in history.
The only redeeming light, is that it *is* possible to talk Mordin out of it if you've screwed up with the Krogan, and left only Wreav alive - if Wrex died on Virmire, and Eve dies due to destroying Maelon's data, Mordin can be convinced that the remaining Krogan aren't ready for a cure. But jeez, that's a hefty price to pay to save Mordin.
I like to think that he was honored among the Krogan for his sacrifice and that Wrex and Bakara's first born (who took his name) would be proud of him.

@@AndresRamirez-fi5uw honestly that would be savior the rachi will follow Shepherd because he/she saved the rachi queen and theses guys are the only ones that actually give the krogan a run to their name
53:58 When you hear the bravest krogan in Mass Effect Trilogy (alongside Grunt) saying it's too dangerous, you just know he is worried. And that's quite uncommon for his kind.
I find it interesting Wrex in 3 talks tough with the Primarch and Dalatrass but in private with Shepard or Eve, he is a lot more himself. I get the sense he is terrified for the future of the krogan. If he sends his soldiers to fight the Reapers, there’s nothing to motivate them other than a cure. There’ll be significant casualties among the krogan in the war; they likely will go extinct without the cure, even if the Reapers are defeated. That’s why he talks tough at the summit; he hides how his situation is as precarious as theirs. He’s doing a good job representing the krogan species.

C-Sec Officer: “Do you WANT me to arrest you?” Wrex: “I want you to try.” That was the moment Wrex was forever my favorite ME character alongside Garrus.
"Plays Renegade shep killing as much as possible like a crazy person but saves and lets the Rachni live" I might be a terrible person but I'm not a monster.... I won't make a species Extinct.
I thought it was really nice that in Wrex's speech on Earth, he said "join the galaxy as allies in victory." He's leading the krogan to a better future with the other species.
The turians are my favorite race in Mass Effect, but Wrex is without a doubt my favorite _character._ I love his character development through the 3 games. It's just...so good. There's so many little things... And the way he was written is entertaining, to boot. A fantastic character on the whole. I love Wrex, he's awesome.
God I miss this game, been thinking about re running the trilogy and this video just convinced me, wrex is one of the best squad mates in mass effect I could never stomach the thought of killing him. Fuck EA for ruining such a great franchise man
There's something hilariously depressing about Wrex's post-Genophage woes. He's still dealing with barbaric practices in that his species' females value things like strong genetics and pedigree meanwhile Wrex has spent most of his life ashamed of Krogan stereotypes. Even when he's succeeded his society still claws at his baser natural expectations and while it's a bit funny seeing Wrex curtail to breeding after everything he's been through, I can emphasize with his exasperation. Poor guy is way too good for the Krogan sometimes.
1:04:52 Yep, and with Javik we find out they went extinct before the Rachni war where the krogran wiped them out and even if you don't chose to spare them the reapers revive them.
Wrex and his character development and ensemble cast really establishes and explores so much about the Krogan, while Mordin doesn't really do that for the Salarians. He's a spectacular character, but atypical for a Salarian, and doesn't interact directly with their social structure the way Wrex does.
Wrex has a fun bit of dialogue in ME1 where you have to chase the AI funneling credits. The other party member will say something along the lines of looks like we finally found the source of the missing credits, cue the AI revealing itself and its intention to kill the party, to which Wrex nonchalantly states "or not" The delivery kills me even though it's such a mundane line
After playing this series (with the DLC's) I'm still amazed at the level that the writers put into this... Except the ending epilogue. They had a chance to bring everything to closer, but choose to just do a 'chest heave' at the end that didn't give much effort. It's like I've said before. Someone yelled "That's a wrap, Lunch everyone" and they just quit. Great trilogy, right up until that ending sequence.
I'm always torn between choosing Kaiden or Wrex to do the final push with. Kaiden has been my bro since day one, Wrex is my best friend forever. Garrus is always with my Shep, no way I'm letting her go without him by her side (she's also gotta say goodbye to him).
So the war with the Reapers is over, the genophage cured, the Geth and Quarians made peace, and organic and synthetic life are now joined. Shepard is basically a Saint to every sentient being in the galaxy. And somewhere there's a recording of this person saying "I'm commander Shepard, and this is my favorite store in the Citadel." Have to think it's like finding a recording of Jesus Christ saying "I'm Jesus of Nazareth, and this is my favorite inn in the West". Talk about product advertising. :V

"I'll drag your clan to glory whether it likes it or not" has to be one of the most badass quotes in any media.
A damned shame Mordin paid the ultimate price he was of the many I liked a lot.
I literally cried when that explosion interrupted his singing and silenced him forever. RIP Mordin Solas.
@@wh3nderson95 exactly Like Thane when he said we must carry the weight of our decisions Shepard.
1:42:28
Anyone else just love the fact in the citadel dlc that Wrex just jumps in and helps Shepard kill those guys no questions asked
Funny thing is... there is a Krogan Scientist in Saren's Compound :p
There's Okeer too. and Fortak.
@@KlavierMenn fortak was supposed to be a researcher on things that can go boom. Not alot of krogans are interested on things like farming and medicine
@@dr.science_0177 Still a scientist. His research was into high-yield explosive munitions, but Wrex made him research other things too (Like medicine and how to farm on bare rock ( coz Tuchanka had no arable soil )
@@KlavierMenn I know. I already listed what he does
Wrex suddenly dancing gets me every time.
Ok. I thought my bitterness to the endings and EA and BW would’ve jaded me, but...”Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.”
I legit hurt from that. He wasn’t even my favorite from 2, but...he was just so good.
Kinda wish there was a renegade response to curing the genophage:
"A bully has few friends when he needs them the most"
I'd probably love it if Javik would just pop into the Chat whenever a krogan mentions how many of their young die Stillborn and just interject with... "I've never had Krogan Before"
Something like:
"And a coward has none!"
Wrex is one of the most badass characters in gaming, and yet he's also strangely adorable. He looks like a frog.
More like a snapping turtle.
A cute snapping turtle, but still.
Wrex is one of the ultimate Bros . Wrex’s story is great goes from a hardass mercenary to a unifying leader in ME2 and becomes the savior of the krogan in ME3. I love that he brings an end to the genophage, it’s so fitting cause Wrex was one of the few children to survive. Wrex was at the beginning and he was with me at the end. Wrex will always be one of my favorite characters in games.
1:48:00 “ah but you can’t die wrex you’ve got a family now a really.......big........ family”
XD
Aaaaagggghhhh! MORE ICE!!!
"I don't know where the Quarian is...but I know where you can find her!"
Uh-huh
"Trust me, I've been in every position in the past few days."
Fucking dead!
You'll let a tank bred join clan Urdnot.......only because he's with you.......that had to be the best sign of respect from Wrex to Shepard before he declared him a hero and a friend to clan Urdnot
Man that vigil theme that kicks in when you meet old friends gets me every time.
Thought I was the only one
I sort of understand where the Dalatrass is coming from and being worried about another Krogan rebellion, but she doesn't know Wrex like Shepard does.
no, the Dalatrass is an idiot... "Oh you want to cure the Genophage to get the Krogans support in this war that the whole Galaxy is a part of anyway? no... I'm leaving this alliance because I'm more scared of what they might do in the future than I am of this Extinction war that we are currently fighting."
She’s a fucking baby and ignorant!!!! It’s funny how she worries about her race yet doesn’t care about tricking them!!!!!
That's why you have to save the Rachni Queen, just in case the Krogan get any ideas after Wrex. An alliance with the Queen to keep the Krogan in check.
@@AndresRamirez-fi5uw honestly that would be savior the rachi will follow Shepherd because he/she saved the rachi queen and theses guys are the only ones that actually give the krogan a run to their name
I to understand a racist morale oppressor wanting to stomp out a race because they belive that species to savage to form a civilization.
Kaiden: What was that all about?
Ashley: Who knows, let's just try not to get caught in the middle.
Shepard: cures genophage.
From a merc bouncer in a club, to the leader of the entire krogan race and savior of the galaxy.
three games just to get wrex laid, damn it
53:58 When you hear the bravest krogan in Mass Effect Trilogy (alongside Grunt) saying it's too dangerous, you just know he is worried.
And that's quite uncommon for his kind.
He was on my planet, sciencing a cure for my testicles
They're dragging you over to their side!
@@nightwingisthealphaboss6478 My people call it gaye
I'll never get bored of wrex headbutting people
ME2 best Renegade interrupt: Shepard headbuts a krogan pyjack that was dissing him/her and grunt
Wrex: This story is only beginning.
And so it is, Wrex, so it is.
"I still don't have a window like Liara does, but maybe that's because I don't kiss as well"
It's amazing how realistic and likeable they made all of the squadmates in this trilogy, shame about the ending
the " You should Eat them" lines always kill me. Love my boi wrex. Hopefully we get to see him in ME4. See him and our blue girl talk about the old days
Wrex is so cute sometimes
Shepard coming to Tuchanka for visit. Horde of small krogan children: "Uncle Shepard"!
That’s a lot of hatch day money 🤣
"Regardless of what the politicians decide, you can count on my support retaking Earth"
That's true allies!
He is my favorite character in the whole franchise and I think its a shame he was not a love interest.
RickeGnool might be a good thing, poor Fem shep(or male shep for that matter) would be in absolutely no condition to go after the reapers after a night with Wrex. Or perhaps it would be the other way around? :P
I don't think Shepard would survive the romance...
Krogans have four Testicles....
google what a krogan penis is supposed to look like. there’s a reason why that never happened.
I think they could have let us romance Eve...
C-Sec Officer: “Do you WANT me to arrest you?”
Wrex: “I want you to try.”
That was the moment Wrex was forever my favorite ME character alongside Garrus.
Eve is underrated and written greatly. It would be so easy to be heavy handed. But shes a perfect balance of tough, feminine and regal
1:05:00
James' face would be like "WTF Commander, you let rachni live???"
"Plays Renegade shep killing as much as possible like a crazy person but saves and lets the Rachni live" I might be a terrible person but I'm not a monster.... I won't make a species Extinct.
Wrex isn't a Krogan.
He's a Bro-gan
1:44:25 that guy is laughting after seeing Wrex DANCING
That Reaper didn't even stand a chance against that Thresher Maw.
"Now we need a gun that fires Thresher Maws" (c) Joker
Shepard: "WE DONT SHOOT UNARMED PRISONERS!"
Garrus: Really Shepard?
I thought it was really nice that in Wrex's speech on Earth, he said "join the galaxy as allies in victory." He's leading the krogan to a better future with the other species.
A galaxy without Wrex is a galaxy the reapers can have
(Rex) MORE ICE!
kills me lol
I love how happy Wrex is to see you in ME2
Ya know sometimes Wrex is that old grandpa we all wish to have in a family
The turians are my favorite race in Mass Effect, but Wrex is without a doubt my favorite _character._
I love his character development through the 3 games.
Fuck EA for ruining such a great franchise man
If Kalros had a voice I think it'd be something like Big Smoke's "You picked the wrong house, fool!"
Wrex is lovable but badass. As Tali said,
You're like the crazy headbutting uncle I never had.
1:04:52 Yep, and with Javik we find out they went extinct before the Rachni war where the krogran wiped them out and even if you don't chose to spare them the reapers revive them.
It feels almost criminal to backstab Wrex. That handshake always remind of the Predator, Dillion, you son of a Biatch!
"Nasty looking customer" Aw boo it's missing the Shadow Broker reference from ME2
Andrevus Whitetail "They were much smaller in my cycle."
There goes the next Shadow Broker!
Wrex is like a very grumpy old man with a shotgun, but fair
This is why I put in so much effort into wrex, it's something well worth the effort
Btw, love how they depict krogan as somewhat cruel to their female, but then, turns out it is not
Wrex and his character development and ensemble cast really establishes and explores so much about the Krogan, while Mordin doesn't really do that for the Salarians. He's a spectacular character, but atypical for a Salarian, and doesn't interact directly with their social structure the way Wrex does.
Make it a rule to never fight wearing pajamas.
Wrex has a fun bit of dialogue in ME1 where you have to chase the AI funneling credits. The other party member will say something along the lines of looks like we finally found the source of the missing credits, cue the AI revealing itself and its intention to kill the party, to which Wrex nonchalantly states
"or not"
The delivery kills me even though it's such a mundane line
Wrex flying elbow-dropping that ship always gets me. Just pure ballsy awesomeness.
Imagine being two human parents and adopting a little Korgan baby...the amount of money just repairing furniture...
Who’s here after hearing the Mass Effect Legendary edition was coming Spring 2021?
After playing this series (with the DLC's) I'm still amazed at the level that the writers put into this... Except the ending epilogue. They had a chance to bring everything to closer, but choose to just do a 'chest heave' at the end that didn't give much effort. It's like I've said before. Someone yelled "That's a wrap, Lunch everyone" and they just quit.
Great trilogy, right up until that ending sequence.
Every time he laughs just makes me smile for some reason.
I love Vegas response to history about the rachni being rewritten in front of him
I swear Wrex, Garrus and Joker were my besties 😂
26:37
You know you've done good if a Krogan calls you his friend
2:44 my favorite part when Garrus says *What are you doing?!* to Wrex when Wrex killed Fist. Best reaction of Garrus Vakarian.
I'd rather face 10 Reaper Capital ships than Wrex.
He's the man !
"Tuchanca, Transgressors will be eaten."
