    This is why Shepard should have been wearing a dashcam on his armor. Majority of the reason the Council didn't believe him was that nothing he did or heard was ever recorded

    • @b1acksteve
      @b1acksteve 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly the council wants some evidence to back up our claims and 95% of the time we have none or conventantly the evidence stops existing, like the VI on Illos. People like to forget that when we actually bring them Tali's evidence they DO believe us. Hell ME1 taught them not to just blindly believe everything one of thier Spectres say.

      The Council believed him, they knew Reapers were real after ME1, but they didn't have a plan on how to stop them even in ME3. So, they just decided to keep this information in secret because Galaxy needed a stability and besides, Shepard didn't specify when Reapers are gonna attack. The council thought they had decades or centuries to prepare, because Sovereign failed at activating Citadel Mass Relay and bringing his friends in, but later writers forgot about this and Reapers needed like 3 years to come back.
      Honestly, Bioware themself didn't know what to do with the Reapers. In ME1 they needed Citadel to come into Milky Way, then in ME2 they could just use the Alpha Relay, but in ME3 they just roll in without use of Mass Relay.

      It was always dumbfounding how Cole’s testimony (the dockworker at Eden Prime) was dismissed by the Council.
      Traumatized or not, the fact he saw two turians, one calling the other Saren who shot the other in the back, is a bit too much info to be considered as rambling? Hell, he could’ve prob ID Saren if given the chance, no way he couldn’t recognize him with all those tubes sticking out of him.

      @@Lajos_KelemenI think you mean Powell. Cole was the guy in that building with two others.
      Shouldn’t the fact that this dockworker (Powell) said Saren’s name be compelling evidence? Let’s forget him stating the backstabbing etc, the fact he mentioned a name (Saren) he shouldn’t know, should be pretty damning. I get it’s not enough evidence to get him disbarred, but surely it’s enough to extend the investigation.

      @@Lajos_KelemenThat's what I've been saying for ages!! Spectres are covert, black ops style commandos. Everything they do is classified, so how the hell does a human colonist on a human colony planet know about a TURIAN Spectre killing another Turian on his planet, right in front of him all whilst commanding an army of Geth? By the Spectre code, that dockworker never should have known Saren was there, especially not his name. The Council were idiots from the start. Stupidity bathed in politics and bureaucracy to shield any onlookers from seeing just how stupid, apathetic, reckless, and careless the council actually is.

      No, let's not all agree. I reject this whitewashing of that cockroach. He acted like all the other councilors - a self-interested smug rat who only became concerned in "assisting you" (blackmailing you into saving his garbage planet first before helping Earth) when Palaven started getting blasted. Same thing the Asari councilor did. Came crawling to you the minute Thessia was in danger. The Salarian would have done the same.
      I'm sure it's a great relief to all the 5 million turians that get fried per day on Palaven that their councilor had a "change of heart" after 3 years of ignoring warnings. All the councilors should be put in front of a firing squad for gross negligence and incompetence.

    • @williamkerfoot8039

      I can't agree. He definitely had some anti-human sentiments in the first game and was the most dismissive and non diplomatic of the councilors. His change in ME3 felt more like they tried to sweep these sentiments under the rug rather than properly addressing them.

    • @fistan5447
      @fistan5447 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      he has a practical mindset i think. And i think he might've had military experience during Turian-Human war, as his anger and distaste against humans seem personal. By 3rd game he'd have known everything Shepard fought for, everything he warned them about was real, and if anybody was gonna change the tide it'd be him. He knew unlike other council members they cannot stop reapers alone, they have to unite. Again, its head canon, but Turians being a militaristic culture, understanding how war works, and his earlier unreasonable attitude can easily be explained by him serving during the war then becoming the councilor.

      All the council are a pain in Shep’s a**. The Turian is pretty racist in ME1 criticising your every decision regardless of what you do. For example he will chastise you for saving the Rachni, and will do the same if you kill them. Decent in 3 but too little to late for me to like him.
      The Salarian I think is the most sensible, I think, as I can’t remember anything derogatory he did. Though the Dalatrass is a moron who can’t see how tough calls need to be made because of the Reaper threat. Sure curing the genophage could eventually cause another Krogan rebellion, but not having the support of them is severely weakening the Galaxy against a threat that quite clearly needs every fu**ing race or asset fighting it. Even then it’s a big IF in regards to defeating this threat. Worry about the Krogan after you’ve survived the biggest threat you and the Galaxy have ever faced.
      The Asari one is ok, but is completely idiotic in 3. She refuses to help in the war and only helps when her whole planet and race are owned by the Reapers. Not to mention the Asari hid a Prothean artefact, keeping it for themselves (illegal iirc) so that they would have an advantage over all the other races. What did she or the Asari expect, that they could stay out of it and the Reapers would leave them alone. The Turian’s have the strongest military and yet were getting decimated by the Reapers. They can’t defend their planet effectively like the Humans, Turian’s and Krogan, so they should of joined the alliance asap.
      The Quarians shouldn’t be having a war with Geth in the middle of an immensely bigger war. Luckily for everyone, Anderson, Shep, and a few others clearly understand the gravity of the situation and can put aside differences when faced with something like the Reapers.

    I think that the Asari's councilor (Councilor Tevos) last words are telling something more than they mean . Even if it sems unlikely , she could be the mysterious Benefactor for the Andromeda Initiative .
    " ... continuity of civilization to consider ... " If you think about it , it actually makes sense . From my little analyse , she's always acting like the " protective mother " just a bit like the Benefactor , and most importantly the Benefactor always has a feminine voice . Councilor Tevos could possibly at the end decide to accelerate the Initiative's departure of the remaining arks , since not all of them departured at the same time . Also , it is highly possible that Councilor Tevos believes Shepard since the beginning , but because she can't allow to break the Council's decisions , she just passively complies and finds the most compromising decisions that satisfies both sides .
    It's only a theory , or it can just be that the " Benefactor " never existed and is just a poor excuse of the ME:A team because of their laziness ...

Tevos only helps Shepard when the Reapers come knocking on her peoples doorstep

      Its not just the Council. Its Destiny ascension with 10k crew. Moreover, the Council are not just 3 people, they are a symbol and just like The Illusive Man brought Shepard despite not agreeing with him, I think saving the Council is the right thing to do.

    And this just makes question myself even more about why I let the Council die.

      I know it was risky to sacrifice reinforcements, but it's also risky to sacrifice the society's order, especially when you're about to go to war.

    As immensely annoying as the Citadel Council are, I prefer them over the Galactic Senate from Star Wars.

      The imperial field commanders who belittle you in Battlefront II are more annoying imo.

    In all honesty when the conflict is over those three councilors should be considered war criminals and tried as collaborators with the reapers. Despite repeated proof they refused to listen to the truth and ultimately the deaths of billions lie squarely on their shoulders.

    If the Crucible had the effect of disabling Reapers shields and messing up with their systems ans battle coesion, giving a fight chance to the armada to fight them. And based on your war assets, define what would be the outcome:
    Bad: still get slaughtered.
    Neutral: Win with such a cost that galatic community will take decades to rebuils.
    Good: Costs were great but the damage is manageable and there was time enough to save Shepard.
    And delete that shit ending.

    Don’t like the asari from mass effect andromeda they feel small and annoying but the mass effect trilogy I prefer from that game.
