I don’t know why so many people are saying to build with brick houses. I’m telling you right now that with EF3 or above bricks wont help so much anymore. The best thing to do is to have solid thick concrete or be under ground. Those bricks will only be part of flying debris at that point.
I saw so many comments earlier thinking EF2 and I was like whhhaaaatt? This damage is like that of Mayfield, Ky or worse ain’t no way an Ef2, at least an EF3.
Brick houses are overrated. They just fall over like a wall anyways. You need steel reinforcement on the inner side of the brick walls with braces connecting all the walls.
Bring back brick homes in these areas. Homes should be built to withstand cat 5 hurricanes like FL new codes. This is why my home builder was fired. Needs to be a block home. Simple.
Did you literally not see the brick wall toppled over? Lol also tornadoes and hurricanes are 2 completely different things. Hurricanes are just wind, tornadoes are like a vacuum.
