James Gunn is trying to cook and people are complaining about their meal while it’s in the oven. Let’s see what we get served before harsh judgement or overwhelming praise.
You have people complaining about comic accuracy, but when asked their favorite comic book movies they say DK Trilogy, Batman ‘89, Batman Returns, Man of Steel, Iron Man, etc. Those movies aren’t exactly comic accurate and yet they’re still successful. It’s not always about adapting comics 1:1 otherwise there’d be so many retcons and plot holes and random inconsistencies just like the comics. It’s okay to stray from the source material as long as the world and characters stay consistent or elevate their comic counterparts.
Comic Iron Man was held hostage in wartime Vietnam, not Afghanistan. He also had a secret identity. Also the ten rings wasn’t a middle eastern terrorist group and obadiah stane was a lot more like Lex Luthor, conjuring up schemes and building secret groups to take over Stark industries (specifically the Chessmen not the Ten Rings). Like I said a movie does not have to be 1:1 to be a good adaptation. In regard to MOS, it’s a bad adaptation and yet there are many fans of the movie. That’s the point I’m making with the movies I chose. They’re inaccurate adaptations of these characters and stories yet are still highly praised by people within the comic community.
@@ihavenoideaatall7381 TBF the reason they made that change is that it was way more relevant to the current geopolitical state of the world at the time. But I agree it still created a weird disconnect as to why a Middle Eastern terrorist organization would be headed up by a dude called the Mandarin. Especially when they faked us out with the mandarin to give us generic white man with dragon tattoos - and then double faked the mandarin in shang chi when he's nothing like his comic book counterpart. Plus, they already killed iron man lol
@@olivercrespo2329 I didn’t say Iron Man was a bad film or even a bad adaptation, just that it wasn’t comic accurate. The characters still remained faithful except Obadiah since in the comics he was able to successfully take over Stark industries using his business smarts. When it comes to the MCU there’s a struggle between changing things to fit the MCU universe and timeline and staying comic accurate. I think they should’ve done more to be true to the universe they set up rather than try to please fans with “comic accuracy.”
Man of Steel, BvS and all of the other DC Zack Snyder movies took something from the comics. There is no "one way" to interpret a character, you can explore multiple sides to them, which is what the comics do and what Zack Snyder did with Batman and Superman.
0:25 I think you can argue that the comic book design might not look as good when applied to real actors. But use "NOT comic book accurate" as an excuse, we know you haven't browsed the official DC website or even the comic wiki, man. Back to Mr. Terrific. The Mr. Terrific design I liked the most, it's from Futures End story line, I really hope they can cast a more buffed dude to play that role.
Bruh, I'm just so happy that they went for Mr. Terrific instead of Cyborg, the dude's literally DC's smartest guy alive and an OG super hero and somehow they still go for Cyborg then they wanna do a Justice League origin story when Cyborg used to be part of the teen titans which came out WAAY after Mr. Terrific..
The current Mr Terrific first appeared over a decade after Cyborg. In addition, the visuals for the orginal and current versions of Mr Terrific are apples and oranges. When the current Mr T appeared, he was almost another character entirely-- just a guy who believed in the original's motto of "Fair Play", and tried his best to live up to it. (Not mention his 1st appearance was in an issue of the 90s Spectre series wriiten by John Ostrander)

Studios started listening to fans. Unfortunately all fans are different and there are some people who want comic accuracy over everything else… Some comic stuff doesn’t translate well to the screen, you also can’t keep everyone happy. Also timing is important, if wolverine wore his deadpool vs wolverine outfit in the original xmen films, he would have been laughed off the screen. Fact.

@jjeteuati264 I agree. It's when they get weird and say that they are hoping Superman will fail because it's not a continuation of "Zach Snyders vision" is when they lose me. Two things can be true. You can like Snyders movies while being a fan of DC and Superman and root for this movie.

Its gonna sound like hate but the new superman team does have cw costume designers. Aiming to be comic accurate is impossible but you can try. They are the justice lords fyi
I never believed in calling people Snyder Coltist... but I'm starting to believe in calling them it. It's mostly them complaining! They gripe how Superman's suit looks when it's comic accurate. They gripe about Guy Gardners hair and saying it looks bad when it's supposed to look like that! They grip, it's not Henry Cavil! They gripe that Corenswet looks like Henry Calvin... see what's going on?
THIS! You put everything into perspective about how I feel about the new costumes in Superman! I can be picky with new Superhero Costumes because I’m tired of living in the days where we needed to “modernize” superhero costumes instead of embracing them as they are. I had a counter to the argument about the whole “the suit looks like it’s of and older time and it doesn’t work in modern day” by saying that “what’s wrong with a retro design?! People love classic cars more than modern day cars. I myself get giddy seeing a 1950 Chevy Bel-Air, I think that’s the coolest looking car in the world”. If a costume has a different design to it, I think it needs a purpose in the story aside from “well we need to modernize it and merchandise”, that’s what I don’t like about Sam Caps new suit in Brave New World. It was perfect in FATWS, then it was changed to almost all blue in the new one! Sorry I went on too long, great video!
The only complaint I have is they gave Supes back his red underwear. I know why they are there, I know it's based off early 20th century strongmen, I know the only time he didn't have them as part of his red and blue outfit was during New 52, I know that Supes died and was replaced by the classic Supes. I know ALL OF THIS.... But they still look stupid as hell. Thank Rao Jon Kent decided against them. Other than that one note - 10/10, no notes.
MCU TAKE NOTES…PLEASE,STOP MAKING EVERYTHING SO COMPLICATED I get it,some characters like the rhinos comic accurate suit would look goofy, but still, why change iron spider!
You asked so I'll answer, his jaw is too small and his T needs to be painted on, not stuck to his face. Now would I be fine with it being this close if I were interested in Gunn's take on DC? Absolutely. But I'm not interested in Gunn's take on DC cause Gunn's take on DC is simply the MCU all over again and I was tired of that before Endgame, at this point that style makes me nauseous. But DC now belongs to the MCU fans, hope y'all support it more than than Marvels cause we're out.....
bruh mcu became dc, the funny light hearted used to be dc before the MCU just because of the dark night trilogy and snyder's mess that doesnt unmake the decades of dc comics and adaptations that were fun and light hearted marvel in the comics and movies was and still is the more mature of the 2
The only way they could get more comic accurate is if they got the original comics of Mr. Terrific, found poses and then cut them out, blew them to be the size of a person and had those fight the people.
The suit doesn't give off superhero proportions. Superman is literally the most important character to have those proportions. It's really that simple.
One thing that people forget is that all these movies have a previs that is basically a comic made to prepare the movie scenes and i just treat movies as if they were new comics, no one is going to say a new comic is wrong because some of the characters are different because of comic accuracy they may say its bad but its just people banking on hate or just mad that the new thing isn't exactly like it was in comics when they were 10y old and happy

Of course ud then argue technology has evolved so it'd be stupid for Batman to be stuck using a radio or whatever. And it would be stupid jus like forcing him to dress as if almost a hundred years hadn't passed
To me specifically it's not because he's black, but because he has a _mask_ and no white eyes. Look up comics Mr. Terrific and tell me where do you see a mask? The color is supposed to be part of his face. _Makeup is right there._ Otherwise, he's fine looks-wise.
@@jacobjackson2787Sure, it’s just a coincidence that every time there’s a Black character, there’s internet nerd rage about the character. Keep deflecting.
The same type of people who said Spider Man is not Spider Man if he's in a movie where he teams up with other superheroes, all the while ignoring that he's been doing that since the 60s.
Snyder bros just want to hate it because there daddy is not directing more trash movies.
Yeah and they not true comic book fans
I once saw Snyder Fans complain about Superman saving kids
That's literally the most Superman thing out there. They really don't know the Character
@breaderikthegreat3224 I never expected them to complain about superman saving kids
@ThendoTshibalanganda-d6p what you expect - they literally glaze a movie where a drunk trucker guy throws his drink on Clark so in retaliation he sneaks outside when nobody is looking and destroys his logging truck and by extension his livelihood. That's a villain not a hero lol
@@olivercrespo2329 I expected them to call us gunnbots
I've been reading comics week to week for 10 years. This movie looks like you just took a comic book and made it live action. So excited.
It wouldn't be the internet if people weren't bitching.
I really want them to make the eyes pure white, then that would be just the cherry on top. But its still accurate and pretty good
If Batman doesn't get white eyes, then no one gets white eyes.
@@fujitafunk I want Batman to have that one look which he scared a kid with that gets used as a meme; the one where he's peeking around a corner and all you see is the silhouette with the glowing night-vision eyes in the mask. That would be awesome lol
Exactly it's the eyes for me
@@edmardisla8492the look that makes Nightwing to remove his mask to not scare an already scared child
People complain because the internet gave them a platform to do it on. And they want to be seen. They don't actually care about what they're complaining about.
the funniest thing about it is the movie isn't even out yet, how is this fair
I mean this has been a trend since 2020 atp. Literally whenever anything new is coming out whether it be games or movies people just jump to being negative assholes
2:05 it is Max lord, you can see the Lord Tech logo in their suit
It’s sad but deep down these people just farming for interactions. Give ‘em what they want and they still will complain
The peole who make these complaints don't even read comics in the first place. Its like how some people would start complaining about a game when they don't even play videogames.
One thing I realized that isn’t comic accurate is hawkgirl’s hair, it’s supposed to be completely orange or light brown whatever it is and not dark brown with blonde streaks or highlights
How will the story recover from this? ;)
I think it might either be The Terrifics or the Justice Society
As a huge fan of The Terrific's I'd love that, but the JSA would be cool as well.
I'm calling it: The Terrific Trio.
Like, Mister Fantastic and the Fantastic Four. This is Mister Terrific and the Terrific Trio.
@@alexandredesouza3692 There is a team in the comics that is basically the dc fantastic four called The Terrific's. It has Mr. Terrific, Metamorpho, Plastic Man, and Phantom Girl.
The second he was in the behind the scenes photos I was just waiting for people to complain. I’m just surprised it took this long to hit my feed
James Gunn is trying to cook and people are complaining about their meal while it’s in the oven. Let’s see what we get served before harsh judgement or overwhelming praise.
Every thing is comic accurate
They chanced hawkgirl who was a red head just like they do with every single redhead
I'm still waiting for how movie people can show Rob Liefeld feet.
Iron Man was very accurate. Also, I wouldn't say MOS stayed consistent or elevated who Superman was. It was a totally different character.
The remaining Synderbros just have make up something to be pissed about...
Omg cry harder
What do you mean? The movie is finished or close to finished, they will not recast that caracter.
His forehead is 2.5 millimetres taller than what is specified in the comics. Not accurate. 0:45

Honestly marvel fans were like she-hulk sucked ngl it wasn’t even that bad all marvel movies are fine to me and in dc some of the movies I hate or shows like CW but they way this new Superman movie is gonna be fire!
I’m genuinely so excited to see Guy Gardner and Mr Terrific in a movie
Snyderverse fan here..most of yhe guys hating on gunn dont even read comics they dont speak for me
Not to mention people comparing those pictures from pre-production vs post-production.
As always the one who lies are just people who don't actually read comics.
Ive been a comic book fan for years and "ItS nOT ComIC AcCUrate" is the least valid critique in the world by people who have NEVER picked up an issue before. Its just used to make surface level complaints because some "fans" just can never be happy and accept that comics are ridiculous and thats the point.
Moral of the story just watch the dam movie
These suits are so amazing and I am so exoted for superhero suits to finally start looking like superhero suits again
One thing I’m a little bit confused by is green lantern, doesn’t green lanterns ring make his suit? I dont know a lot about green lantern and im not that big of a fan of any of them
Yes. The ring makes the uniform
@ so I wonder why his suit is uniform to that team he is part of, cuz when he’s in the justice league, he has his normal suit
I'm pretty sure the suit is also customizable like his constructs. Or he just chooses not to wear the suit.
most likely he choose to wear that instead of his default lantern uniform. but the question is why is he signing up with maxwell lord to begin with . aren't green lanterns supposed to report to the guardians?
@@swganimationsHe can form a suit that matches the team or just wear the team suit.
Dawg we've literally seen a few seconds of these characters in a trailer. Honestly I'm just hype AF my boy Mr Terrific is finally getting a theater treatment. And the suit looks dope AF.
I don't know man. Looks Terrific to me 😅
The suits as a part of a team is a valid point. Us getting to their full comic book version visuals, that remains to be seen.
Hey it's more accurate then Amazon's Rings of Power ever will be

Haha, within the 3 hours you posted this you changed your mind. I like it, but honestly it is a really hard look to make good in live action. I think they did pretty good all things considered.
So you saw the movie right?
Studios started listening to fans. Unfortunately all fans are different and there are some people who want comic accuracy over everything else…
Some comic stuff doesn’t translate well to the screen, you also can’t keep everyone happy.

@@Doctor_Idiot It's a sweeping generalization. You are an exception.
Hawkgirl is NOT comic book accurate though. Holywood always blackwash redhead characters for some sick reason.

My only complaints are that i think supermans suit is slightly over designed with extra textures/ lines that aren't needed and krypto is fluffy when hes almost alway depicted as having short straight hair.
0:40 So, this person used the most unflattering pictures to compare to the most flattering CW pictures? People are just d🙄mb
Its gonna sound like hate but the new superman team does have cw costume designers. Aiming to be comic accurate is impossible but you can try. They are the justice lords fyi
Mr. Terrific looks great! Can’t wait to see him on screen!
Atleast it didn't get the modok treatment.
The fact that CW was crushing The Snyderverse and the Snyder fans think that narative would work for them is funny.
Just watched james Gunns suicide squad again and yeah he's going to cook good with the dcu!
The Suicide Squad is a masterpiece that was released at the wrong time
@Lumminere it was a solid movie! If that came out first instead of the other one it would have been massive no doubt
Some people just need something to complain about. He usually called them idiots.
Just your average Snyder fan boy, nothing new to see here
If movie critics attack this movie then it means that it's about to be good!!
Yes it happens to the dark knight
@Zod543what does?
That's not really true, though.
MCU
TAKE NOTES…PLEASE,STOP MAKING EVERYTHING SO COMPLICATED
I get it,some characters like the rhinos comic accurate suit would look goofy, but still, why change iron spider!
i like the mcu iron spider suit better than comic one
He is comic accurate
You asked so I'll answer, his jaw is too small and his T needs to be painted on, not stuck to his face. Now would I be fine with it being this close if I were interested in Gunn's take on DC? Absolutely. But I'm not interested in Gunn's take on DC cause Gunn's take on DC is simply the MCU all over again and I was tired of that before Endgame, at this point that style makes me nauseous. But DC now belongs to the MCU fans, hope y'all support it more than than Marvels cause we're out.....
Stay in school, kid
You need an education more than most people
bruh mcu became dc, the funny light hearted used to be dc before the MCU just because of the dark night trilogy and snyder's mess that doesnt unmake the decades of dc comics and adaptations that were fun and light hearted
marvel in the comics and movies was and still is the more mature of the 2
I thought you had a good reason why, turns out this is just ridiculous. I call bs
I prefer when things are comic accurate, and this new Superman movie is looking awesome
0:34 the appliqué stops at his mouth then picks up at his mouth. They could have easily made this one piece in a latex fitting.
Well then it would either have to go past his mouth or go over his mouth
@ or go, get this, AROUND his mouth, thus the latex.
the reason why they're wearing similar suits is because they're part of the Justice Society, Gunn talked about it a while ago.
Not gonna lie, the fact they found a way to pull of the T is terrific
The only way they could get more comic accurate is if they got the original comics of Mr. Terrific, found poses and then cut them out, blew them to be the size of a person and had those fight the people.
What's even funnier is that they're comparing pics from the set VS pics from the movie.
I swear certain people just love to cry and complain for the sake of it.
0:40 bro theyre comparing behind the scenes pictures to in show footage of the CW how stupid could they be😂😂👎💀🤮
Compare behind the scenes Hawkman from Black Adam to behind the scenes Gunn MCU Hawkgirl. Downgrade of the century.
I thought Edi Gathegi was a bit skinnier than I would have liked, but I would never say his portrayal is not comic accurate! That is dead on perfect!
That CW post was obviously talking about Hawkgirl's suit not being faithful. Hawkgirl, Lantern and Terrific are wearing some kind of hero uniform.
The guy that says that's not comic accurate might be a comic fan closer to 90 years old and thinking of the original Mr. Terrific.
Gotta love how they compare edited and produced shots from CW with paparazzi shots from the actors on film site.
There's nothing happier than a person who loves to complain with something to complain about.
They're comparing Superman movie SET PHOTOS vs CW in-scene shots.
People always will find something to complain about... And I'd they don't find anything they'll still complain
