I mean somewhat? I think Yubel will be better (since it went basically untouched, since it doesn't need Lacrima and Spirit Gates to 1 doesn't stop the deck) until we get Azamina cards in a month and a half. Mainly because Yubel is one of the decks that actually has negate access (Phantom and Varudras) with all the generic ED ones banned.
@@easyygo3008 Yubel was literally topping in OCG before ROTA wtf are you talking about, it had more top cut representation than Tenpai or Snake-Eye. OCG doesn't have Necroquip or Aerial Eater, and OCG still has Lacrima and Beatrice legal for Snake-Eye to use? Idk what your point is.
They don't even necessarily need to drop the power level of the game, they need to make sure the power level is consistent among all the new major archetypes they release and provide boosts to older archetypes with cards that allow them to compete with the new stuff. They could 100% implement a new Master Rule to address some issues with the game though. I also think there are way too many hand traps and board breakers running around too and there's not enough answers to them.
Why the heck wouldn't they just hit the thing we've had for longer? We might as well go to Tier 0 Fiendsmith rather than more freaking Tier 0 Snake-Eyes
The Beatrice hit is a lot more impactful to SE considering Yubel can still run Fiendsmith to fuel their engine no problem. Fiendsmith is strictly just an extender in SE now, Engraver isnt a starter. I'm more so disappointed that all the top decks in the format are the exact same archetypes after this list, even if SE isnt tier 0 now for the time being. As for the Azamina cards: i'll need to see how the loss of Beatrice keeps it from being tier 0. I'm sure it'll still be a contendor for best deck though.
Gimmick Puppet should never have been hit. I'm sick and tired of Konami giving legacy support to dext. And then banning cards in that archetype. But yet when it's going to come to blue eyes and dark magician they are not going to ban anything. I'm sick and tired of blue eyes and dark magician support. Give support to other archetypes that need it.
I buy into the idea that there's pushback from the OCG/Japan team on the creation of this list because it smells like it's full of OCG-esque compromises and consistency hits for every good hit it makes. "No you can't hit Sanctifire, GP Nightmare or Ido, limit Branded Fusion or something" "No you can't ban Moon to make Fiendsmith less generic, hit Lacrima or something" "No you can't ban Flamberge or SnOak, make Poplar a giga garnet or something" If this is true and the OCG/Japan team is starting to micromanage TCG more, that's grim given we're getting another Charmy next set and the implications thereof with how they'll shape the december(?) list around it.
Lmao, Lacrima was/is a $2 card. Why would they have internal board meeting struggles over it. For once, Komoney actually saw how toxic something is and decided to deal with it straight away.
This two dollar card makes brand new hundred dollar engraver much stronger, so yeah it's a big decision to do that so early. Konami is stupid for printing a burn effect on a combo piece. Immediately banning cards that just came out feels like they objectively made a mistake with their card design and to me it's a black mark on their record.
There will be replacement later, just not sure when TCG gonna get it. Aerial will do the job for now. Burn in time is honestly the only reason they hit it.
My guess is that there isn't insider information, but vendors might have opened unreleased product and saw grass in the tins. If it's not in the tins that's our answer. But I can only imagine Konami would take Banlists super seriously.
I totally disagree that snake eye is stronger in the tcg than ocg because in ocg they still have Apo, Lacrima and Beatrice Now in the tcg they are more weak to stuff like nibiru because before the ban of Apo if they lead with the fiendsmith engine you have to use nibiru before the apo comes out hoping that they have not a singular snake eye card in the hand, now you can wait until they commit to the snake-eye part of the deck to punish them Also now you can use more targeted handtraps like D.D. Crow on the flamberge float activation without worrying about Apo. Flamberge special summon only from the gy and they usually use it after they have used Oak, so if you banish either Ash or Poplar with the D.D. Crow on the Flamberge activation you can stop its effect entirely since it has to revive 2 and not up to 2 and if you banish one of the 2 targets in the gy it resolves without an effect
@@looneyloonaticTo be fair, arise-heart also being there made it so you had to basically deal with two forms of "denied GY interactions"and Konami probably thought the newer was the one that pushed the breakpoint. But then again shit like floo and soon to be maliss still gives that thought a lot of credence.....
Nah, SE isn't as much of a threat. Certainly not the Fiendsmith build since those cards no longer get you to Snake combo. Even the pure build doesn't seem nearly as good without Apo, and Poplar is just bad to draw now (especially in combination with Bonfire). The endboards are decent but not as overwhelming, the grind game that the deck is infamous for is now almost nonexistent, and the lines are more susceptible to hand traps Im expecting Fire King or even Infernoid to maybe take it's place but the builds that have been extremely dominant until now have been knocked down a peg
@@Squiddysyeah but that's 1 omni vs 3-4 monster negates personally I'd much rather deal with the 1 omni than the 3+ monster negates also the omni is a borreload Savage style omni. so unlike barrone, it doesnt destroy the card. that does matter sometimes
