    I always loved their dynamic being both Galaxy Eyes users and despite being enemies, they have a lot of respect for each other. It's still crazy how Kite legit dies at the end of the duel despite winning it but Mizar fortunately honored his last wish by giving that numbered card to Yuma

      @@MiriNameThief Actually fun fact in the anime, Numeron Network's efffect is pretty different. This is it's effect;
      "During your opponent's draw phase, if you control no cards: you can activate this card from your hand. One per turn, during either player's turn, if you control no other cards: you can activate the effect of 1 "Numeron" card from your deck, then send that card to the graveyard."
      And looking at the animation for Don Thousand's duel against Mizar, then Yuma & Nasch, Don Thousand had 5 cards in his hand before his second turn started. Which means, yes it's a stupid effect, but technically he didn't cheat. I did love the mystery behind it when he first pulled that trick on Mizar, but lookig back on it, it shouldn't have worked.
      Mizar played Dragon King's Demise to deal damage to both players equal to the total atk of the tributed dragons, however Don Thousand switched Mizar's spell to Card of the Dragon King which tribute's Mizar's dragons and deals only to Mizar damage equal to their total atk, but he gets to draw a card for each dragon tributed.
      However the MASSIVE problem with this is that to activate either of these cards, you need to tribute monsters to do so. Which means, Don Thousand forcing the activation of Card of the Dragon King is actually wrong. Even if Don Thousand could ignore activation requirements, Mizar has no more dragons on his field to tribute. Mizar still would've lost the duel, but the way he loss doesn't make any technical sense.
      And if you're thinking the anime's rules are different, no cause in Jack's duel against Dragan when Dragan made Scar Red Nova Dragon lose 2k atk & unaffected by Jack's spells & traps, Jack used Burning Reborn and tributed Red Nova as part of the cost to activate it, getting around it's immunity. So the same rules should apply to the Don vs Mizar duel. Heck this even happened in Atticus vs Fubuki's duel with burst breath

    24:14 This is also a fun little reference to how the speed of light works. For those not in the know, most animals perceive information based on light bouncing off of an object and into our eyeballs.
    However, light has its own speed limit, so while up close it looks instantaneous, at vast distances, say, millions of billions of miles away, by the time we see something, it has already happened x amount of times in the past.
    If this were a typical Shounen anime instead of a card game, Neo Tachyon Dragon would be trying to reverse time on Optimus Prime Dragon beginning to punch it in the face, but Optimus Prime Dragon has already thrown the punch two millenia ago, and Neo Tachyon Dragon is only reacting to the image of it happening and only just feeling it now.

    Bit of a note with the Illumiknight card. Kaito doesn't really play Numbers Monsters in Zexal II since he's no longer hunting for them and they don't fit into his deck normally. Most of the Numbers are in Yuma's possession at this point has all of them aside from the ones Shark has. So a large majority of Kaito's Extra Deck monsters are Photon XYZ monsters that pair with Galaxy Eyes.
    Mizael could have other Rank 8 XYZ monsters to work with his mainly level 8 dragon deck however that itself is an unknown since Barians have mainly ever brought out their signature Numbers monsters.
    Fun fact, Kaito summoned Numbers 46: Etheral Dragon Dragluon is through the guidance of Dragluon himself. Because it has to do with the Barian Emperors being connected to the Seven Legendary Numbers which 46 is one of them. It turns out the Over Hundred Numbers namely from 101 to 107 is a curse placed on the Seven Blessed by Don Thousand who had been eyeing the Seven of them and setting up events that lead to their eventual demise. The Seven Emperors before being cursed were the original wielders of the Seven Legendary Numbers. Astral explains it during Yuma's final duel against Alit but destroying an Over Hundred Numbers with their Legendary Numbers counterpart in this case destroying Numbers 107 with Mizael's original Numbers card namely Numbers 46 Dragluon himself, it unveils to them the truth to their downfall tying them to Don Thousand. In hindsight aside from freeing Alit and Gilag who were under Don Thousand's control it didn't do much of anything else aside from showing them how Don Thousand had turned them into the Barian Emperors.

      @jaernihiltheus7817 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      My headcanon is that mizar had number 87: draglubion, since it's the dark counterpart to dragluon (and mizar plays chaos dragons, so the card is more or less designed for him after the fact).
      Reason why he wouldn't use it would be because it's basically designed for numeron dragon and he doesn't have that one, and he can't summon it with the seventh one as that only works with barian numbers... So he'd have had to rank it up into something worth playing by using barian's force and he didn't draw it or any monsters to go into a rank 8 naturally in the second duel.

      Zexal was dark. There’s no shadow realm censoring the legit bloodbath the barians, Dr. Faker and don thousand commit. Don even turned all of earth into his field spell to find the numeric code. That pretty much eliminated all living things on earth except astral, Yuma, Tori and shark. There was an astral world guardian who sacrificed himself to negate the field spell. Season 1 really tricks you into how dark season two onwards really gets and that includes attempted galaxy level genocide. Yeeesh

      It is easily one of the best duels in the series because unlike a lot of duels in Yugioh, there's a sense of honor & respect between the two duelist. Only 1, ONE of them can be the stronger Galaxy Eyes duelist, and they have to settle that.
      Fun fact about Kite & Mizar's first duel btw, Kite should've won that duel. You see Kite on his last turn was able to get out Phonton Thrasher & Photon Circle, both lvl 4. Then he used Up Shift to make them all lvl 8, to summon Neo Galaxy Eyes and attack for 2k damage.
      However, Kite has this one monster that was really helpful when the zexal era cards came out irl. Starleige Paladynamo.
      It's effect in the anime is to detatch one material and negate an Xyz's monster's effect, and lower it's atk to 0, Plus if he's ever destroyed, Kite gets to draw a card. If Kite had just overlayed into this bad boy, and he's got a Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon with 2k atk, he'd have just enough atk to win the duel there, Mizar had no spells or traps on the field, and only 2 cards in hand, one of which being Monster Reborn

      Honestly, Zexal getting more dark in season 2 was probably a response to the criticism season 1 got of being a little too much child oriented. Like i said above, 5Ds was pretty dark from the get go (the first season alone tackles some pretty serious topics like social inequality and all the problems it brings), so for Zexal to bring a somewhat childish tone was seen by a lot of people as a bad decision.

    22:00 Fun fact. If I'm not mistaken, if a monster with an odd number of attack points has its ATK halved, the total ATK is rounded up to the nearest whole number. Thus, if an ATK value of 125 is halved, the new atk value would be 63. The same logic applies to life points.

    I just realized that Kaito would’ve completely had the duel much sooner and probably lived to the finale if he simply refrained from setting Galaxy Shockwave until after Tachyon Chaos Hole was used on Galaxy-Eyes Prime. A clash of two monsters with identical ATK was gonna be unlikely early on even with the mirrored stats of the Galaxy-Eyes monsters both sides wielded but Double Dragon Descent would’ve forced such a contingency and allowed Galaxy Shockwave to go live. Assuming I didn’t mess up my understanding of their cards, this would’ve let Kaito deal an easy 1500 damage and dunk on C107 while Mizeal had 700 LP and no way out.

    See now, what we need is a breakdown of their final duel. Easily in the top ten for greatest duels of all time. The fact it doesn’t have a single main protag in it either. I’d pair it up with duels like Revolver vs Soulburner. Epic duels between other cast members with either big stakes or big emotional payoffs. However, that one has the best of both worlds. The summoning of the last Galaxy Eyes Kaito could play… And it was a number no less. Let’s keep in mind, Kaito never lost to Yuma either. But even before that, each of these duels between these two were just fantastic. Incredible.

    21:40 It is actually perfectly legal to half any number value and if the halved number would end in ,5 you get the next biggest whole number (for example if you halve 25 you get 13 instead of 12,5) AND you are allowed to halve 1 and still having 1 left. Go check it out if you want, that's how it works. What that means is that no matter how many life points Kite had Mizael would be able to keep attacking with half the atk until the point he would reach 1 atk point and keep attacking for 1 life point each time, attacking an infinite number of times. That is why the restriction of 500 atk is there 😅

Either way it doesn't change whether Mizael would have attacked tbh, either he's trying to lower his life points to increase his chance of victory later or he's trying to kill him for real, even if he doesn't have game on the spot there's no reason *not* to attack, he's under the impression he's winning on his next turn anyway.

    Not sure if anyone commented, but when it comes halving stats, it will round up to the highest number, so technically, Mizar's card would guarantee an OTK if it could attack for less than 500, as once you reach 1 ATK point, you halve it, it rounds back to 1, and you keep attacking a few hundred/thousand times with 1 ATK, basically, as many times as needed, until you win, and the opponent can't really do anything to save themselves, so yea, the cut off point is legit to prevent unstoppable OTKs.

    Not sure if this would work but:
    If the cards in Kite's hand were different in Duel 2, Kite could of boosted his odds of winning on Turn 3.
    For this scenario, the monsters in Kite's hand, Photon Thrasher & Overlay Booster, remain the same, but with a slight difference in the other cards in his cards. These other cards would be Star Changer, Triangle Evolution, Negate Attack & Galaxy Storm
    Here's the scenario:
    Start off by playing like the actual duel by summoning both Monsters to the field (this being Photon Thrasher & Overlay Booster respectively) use Star Changer's effect to decrease Overlay Booster's Level by 1, you now have 2 LVL 4 monsters on the field, XYZ summon Starleige. Set Negate Attack and end your turn.
    Mizar makes his moves as normal, until the Battle Phase. Neo Tachyon would attack Starleige, activate Negate Attack ending Mizar's Attack.
    Your turn comes again, you draw.
    Use Starleige's effect to bring Galaxy Eyes out by detaching it's Overlays, use Triangle Evolution to bring Neo Photon onto the field, Neo Photon negates other face-up effects on the field, apart from it's own.
    Attack Tachyon Dragon and use Neo Photon's Effect to snatch Mizar's Overlays and increase Neo Photon's ATK by 1500. Use Overlay Booster from earlier to further increase Neo Photon's ATK by 500. Now the battle is Tachyon at 4500 and Neo Photon at 8000, the effects go through and Mizar takes 3500 damage, leaving him on the brink of game.

    As a dinomorphia player, i can confidently say this: You can not have a point total (Atk / Def / LP) with a decimal. It will always round up to the closest whole number. If (when) I use my dinomorpha cards to the point where I am down to 1 LP...I can still activate effects since it would "half" my life to .50 but because of game rules it keeps it at 1 LP. (No I did not have Stealthbergia on the field, and this was tested in master duel as well as EDOpro)

      Playing it in software doesn't matter because there can always be errors, even if it's official.

    10:16 I know it is semantics in this case but technically Mizar's opening hand didn't have "Rank-Up-Magic -The Seventh One" like I know it is his opening draw but it is certainly obvious it is the card he drew with the rest as his opening hand but still would have been something to note as in this case you can tell a difference between his opening hand and his opening draw as depending if a card was his opening draw or opening hand it would be an amazing start or a horrible thing to see.
    25:17 So here is why I mentioned it was important to note it as an opening draw. I do think it might be possible he had other ones between 101 and 107 to where he had other targets but if this is the case having it include the draw distinction like the normal card it would explain why it always was used immediately after drawing so if it is just in their hand it is unusable but if it is the draw then it is a good powerful draw. If we/you don't want the "You must draw it" restriction then the "You can only use once per duel" would fit as all points that card was only used once per duel even if they had it and just didn't really have other assumable targets. Also as it is Mizar I do feel even with other targets that he would only use Number 107 as a target and as you mentioned he never would have been able to get the other 102-106s even if we say he had them and then maybe had it transferred to Shark(I forget if shark used 102-107) like Kite did with Numeron Dragon with maybe the rest of his extra deck as well to Yuma.

Given that Yugioh ruling goes that any half payment rounds up, that means that if there were no cutoff and Mizar got Neo Tachyon down to 1 attack point, then he would be able to continuously attack because the 1 attack point would round back up to 1 and he would just keep attacking indefinitely.

    Actually, a detail about that atk halving thing.... once you get to partial points, they round up (so, paying half of 125 would leave you with 63... not 62.5) and as some videos on TH-cam had shown, you can still make the cost of paying half, even if your at 1 (typically shown with paying LP) in which case you lose nothing because it rounds back up to 1.
    As such, if that spell didn't have a cut off point, it could be used to keep on attacking for 1 damage, 8000 times..... yeah, it needed a cut off point.

    Amazing analysis, interesting to hear it all again and see how their hand was and how they worked it.
    I think a cool duel to look into would be Yuri and Yugo's duel.
    Specifically what would happen if Aster (Edo) and Kite (Kaito) never interrupted the duel. Cause we assume Yugo would win, especially due to a card's effect, but when testing it out on EDOpro, it didn't seem to work as intended. So maybe there is a ruling we don't know, or the system is not right?

    So I read up on The Seventh One in the anime, he actually COULD have used it because the rank-up effect is an optional "You can" effect, meaning he, during his main phase, uses C107, gets back TSO, uses it to revive Tachyon Dragon, and during the Battle Phase he attacks. Depending on with who he attacks well, if he attacks with normal Tachyon for some reason then it's basically the same result, albeit Kite wins on turn 3 since Mizar would've had a monster with 1500 less ATK. If he attacks with Neo tachyon then he wins. Also Kite could've won on turn 3 himself if we ignore this okay by using Overlay Booster to give Prime Photon an extra 1000 ATK since it had 2 materials. So yea, Mizar could've gone for an OTK on turn 2 by using TSO. The only reason I could give as to why he didn't, maybe in some odd way Neo Tachyon also doesn't let his own cards be activated despite what the japanese translations say. TSO in the anime does not have a once per turn, so yea. Either weird game mechanic effect or just flat out misplay

    That Sargasso Duel was actually a rematch, their first Duel had to be called off when Kite intervened when Yuma was getting the snot kicked out of him by Mizar in a Barian Sphere, but C107's (it "one hundred and seven", not "one oh seven") power was too much for the Sphere to handle so they had to abandon before the Sphere imploded on them! It was pretty intense and, dare I say, the perfect introduction? I'm not joking about Yuma, either, Astral was down for the count, he was a wreck, they were both battered! It's amazing either of them could still stand! And if you thought Kite outplayed Yuma, if anything, Yuma was even MORE outmatched against Mizar!

    2:59 He could have summoned another Delta Wing for Delta Wing's effect "When this card is normal summoned, you can special summon 1 "Photon Delta Wing" from your Deck." From there he could have just gone into Illumiknight or he could have at least summoned another Delta Wing for extra defense next turn. Misplay Kite.

  • @supremekingd775
    @supremekingd775 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In the Sargasso dimension duel, even if Mizar played Neutrino Dousing and ranked up Number 107 into a Chaos Number he can’t resolve the effects of Barian’s force because it’s still Kite’s turn. If Kite still wanted to go on the offensive against Neo Tachyon he would’ve failed even with Neo Galaxy Eyes’ abilities. I believe that Mizar didn’t want to lose his dragon again to Neo Galaxy Eyes because that’s what happened in the first duel in the Barian sphere field so he was prepared for Kite’s dragon in this duel.
