    Thanks a lot for these awesome points. Can't wait to get home to try that. Especially point 1 is what I struggle with, I simply have no feeling at all for wait distribution during my whole swing. Hope this hint gives me for the first time the feeling of how it should be. You're an excellent instructor, thanks for everything.

    Hey Chris, I started watching your videos here in the states. I admit I’ve played golf for 20yrs now and have had only one Rd in the mid 70’s and always stayed in the mid to high 80’s. Now with your videos I not only improved my trail arm I broke 80 for the first time in years! Chris thank you my friend. PS I won 7 skins...⛳️🏌🏿‍♂️

    Always thoughtful concise ideas to take to the range. I've been having a swing wobble recently and the first drill will be so helpful to me. When my timing goes the first thing I do is hit behind the ball. Also the tee peg drill is always a useful reminder.

    The 15 people who didn't like this video believe that the golf swing should be perfectly intuitive, natural and without any manipulation, whatsoever.
    And, anybody who's played this game for more than a week knows that that's a bunch of baloney. Executing the "fundamentals" of this game does not insure excellent and satisfying play. Perfect example of what I mean is grip tension. Just slight variations in grip tension can have a huge affect on executing your golf swing.
    What's the point?
    The 15 people who didn't like this video may, all, be accomplished golfers. But, they don't know jack shit on how to instruct this game to others (less gifted).
    Thank you, Chris Ryan. Great tutorial as, always!

    Excellent video... what's your best tip on training the left hand to override a dominant right hand ?? That tee trick helps bunches, but in a .25 sec downswing, having the left to lead can be aggravatingly difficult.

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a tough one, sometimes changing the grip style can help a little, going to overlap if it’s not already held like that can help

    Great vid as always Chris! Watching my swing on my phone I noticed my lead arm doing the chicken wing thing. This vid and the one on thinning have helped my swing. We Americans love hearing y’all say tee peg for tee and garden for back yard. My favorite is when y’all say car park. 😝

    Followed the first two but the shallowing. Is the average golfer going to do this in the split seconds of the down swing ? I see so many fellow golfers trying this in practice swings and poor results in proper shots. Deeper turn over right foot and lower body squat move is a better drill for learning to shallow?

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Marvyn, a lot of great ball strikers move their heads forward and down in transition, and in some cases quite a bit! Unless it’s severe I’d say it’s ok to have that movement 👍

  • @zzxxyy22
    @zzxxyy22 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Speaking to your first point..some instructors on TH-cam preach to rotate first..open up the body...not to shift the weight to front foot... finding this is the essence of contradictory direction on golf instruction..not sure which method is best... possible a blend of the two???

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah it can be tough when there are two schools of thought, but lots of different ways to get it done. Similar to if one instructor prefers a fade and another a draw, completely different impacts but both will still work 👍

    I went and played today and I hit it horrendously. I know it was due to my clubface. I don't steepen it anymore. I've figured that out, at least. I've worked super hard on my swing, so having a day of such poor ball striking really sux. I started bowing my right wrist at the end and it helped me not hit it off to the right as much. My issue is, how do you bow your wrist and flex your right wrist and not have it feel 'manufactured' almost. It takes away from my natural speed and I don't like that. It's frustrating to say the least.

    • @user-wf7vs3hd9n
      @user-wf7vs3hd9n 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to eventually move forwards - losing some speed while you try to groove a new feeling in might reap rewards long term.

    For me the two worst things are not knowing your eye dominance and trying to keep your chest at the same level you started at address as you swing back . If you’re left eye dominant , look at the back of the ball .right eye dominant, at the top of the ball or in front w/ irons . On the backswing , chest to the sky or extension and possibly a little tilt and side bend !

  • @matthewlynch9653

    Steepening the shaft is the result of compensation for a swing fault earlier in the swing.

    • @ChrisRyanGolf
      @ChrisRyanGolf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can be yes, but can also be a fault on its own

    • @matthewlynch9653

      ChrisRyanGolf I disagree because if the club face and pivot align properly. Steepening the shaft angle would be pointless.
