    I'd like to remind everyone, THIS is the reason Phil stood up to the Tour initially. Media rights for the players to be able to monetize their own content. The PGA Tour owned these guys, their likenesses, etc. He knew this would be a wide open lane to make content and get great exposure, monetize it etc. Previously the Tour didn't even do ANY content with the players outside of the tournament context. Thanks Phil!

    • @therealtw90
      @therealtw90 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@crawdad08642 the point I was making is that before Phil brought it up, the players could not have done videos with Grant and others. That was against the rules altogether. Phil objected to that and I think it was great vision by him to do so. Now the Tour has relaxed some rules but I think the Tour still has to approve release of content. Also the players on Tour don't "own" their likeness either which was the other big thing Phil spoke against. It's like how college athletes used to be, where the colleges could make money off players names but they couldn't make money off their own name because the NCAA owned their rights. Bryson's channel (and Phil has a channel too) has zero restrictions, as far as I know, on content ownership or what content is allowed to be posted.

    I just want to say, that those idiots that play scrambles and say they hit -26 or -22 are liars.. We're watching two of the best golfers in the world, and one of them arguably in the top 10 of all time, could not break 50 or shoot -20 from the front tees. I love these videos so much, this is an awesome challenge.

    • @buchaneb
      @buchaneb หลายเดือนก่อน +42

      Most of those scrambles have mulligans and things like throws or strings that basically guarantee you make every putt. 4 golfers in a scramble is a massive advantage over two - even if the two golfers are hall-of-famers - simply due to having twice as many tries at every single putt.

      Last fall I was in a four man scramble and we shot a 52 to win. However, we had 2 mulligans each and there was two par threes where you could roll a dice for a dollar to get a hole in one basically. So that’s -4 strokes from the dice. We played from the men’s tees and played some great golf though. This summer I played in a 4-man with 8 inch “cups”, they were actually a big disc you had to hit into which was more difficult imo, winning team shot a 51 iirc.

    I have never seen Phil hit it that incredibly straight, and I have never seen Bryson hit it so not straight. Hehe! 😅
    By the way, if you want to break 50 then play with pro golfers on a normal public golf course, which of course are much easier than these PGA and LIV courses.

    As a lefty in his 1st year of taking golf seriously, it's great seeing Phil play the game. Was on vacation last week 1st time with new clubs and played every day. Broke 100 1st outing and then developed a pretty severe slice midweek, and wedge game had never been great apart from 1 random day with old clubs. Wanted to cancel the weekend, but watched some content and *knock on wood* fixed majority of the slice (teeing higher was somehow the fix, not sure on the physics lol) and have been hitting really good wedges after opening up the club face. Ended the weekend breaking 100 at my nemesis course where I had shot a 120+ the 1st time.
    Have learned a lot from these videos thus far (e.g. the short of Phil and Bryson talking about getting out of bunkers), and it's just nice to see 2 professionals comparing notes naturally.

    Bryson, I used to bowl a lot and we started a little equipment company. Bowling balls are made to purposely want to change their spin axis with regard to the initial spin axis on release of the ball. This means means there is a torque to turn the ball to face up to the pins better downlane.
    There is a machine called a Determinator which helps you find the Preferred Spin Axis (PSA) of the ball. I'd be super interest to know whether one could be made small enough to use it to find the PSA for golf balls and hence allow you to mark a perpendicular line to allow putts (and I guess maybe drives) to roll completely neutrally.
    I think the ball is round enough despite dimples, that any pull to one side or the other would outweigh any dimple caused deviation, although I could be wrong. Would be a cool mad scientist thing to investigate though. Maybe the tolerances on the balls are so good that this isn't an issue, you might already know that.

    Listening to Bryson and Phil analyze and calculate each shot made my brain hurt. I am normally just praying it lands on the green. Guess that's why I pay to play and they get paid to play.

    Really enjoyed it. Second favorite episode and the art banter is by far the best! Thanks for sharing

    Bryson nailed his reasoning for creating this channel. I wasn’t a fan of his before due to his perceived image. After watch a bunch of these videos I’ve become a fan. He really seems like a good guy.

    Thru 8 holes watching and loving the chemistry between you two guys. Two of the greatest personalities in golf. Get those par threes on the back nine boys!
