Today, there are more people in the world who play the online multiplayer battle game League of Legends than there are people who live in France. We wanted to see how humanity got to this point, so VICE host Matt Shea flew to South Korea, a country where competitive gaming-also known as eSports-can either make you rich and famous or land you in rehab.
In Part One, we touch down in Seoul, where the city's gaming cafés, stadiums, and arenas are buzzing with anticipation for the biggest eSports match ever held in Korea. At the League of Legends world semifinals, Matt falls in love with famous cosplay team the Spiral Cats, but he's crestfallen when they ditch him for an American eSports superstar.

Lol at all the mad nerds who can't realize the host is supposed to be clueless because he's acting as a vessel for those uninformed about gaming to get an understanding of what that world is all about. This documentary is meant for the mainstream folk, not gamers. Why the fuck would a gamer watch a documentary about gaming anyway? It's an intro for those who are interested in the subject or just curious but don't know much. Bombarding them with names and gaming jargon would just confuse them. But keep on copy pasting eachothers comments about "omg couldnt they find just one guy who knew something about gaming to be the host?" since apparently you got too much free time on your hands.
Besides (and I'm not sure if it's so) Vice probably lets their reporters choose their subjects and make their own documentaries to then be published by Vice instead of giving set rules and subjects the reporters must touch. What I'm trying to say is if it wasn't for this host, you wouldn't have any gaming documentary at all.
but who would watch a nature doccumenty by someone who had never even seen a cat?
rjc0234 are you brain damaged?
Nejlínější LP na YT
i jst have a really broken keybrd
SpydaSoQuick yeah, but I completely agreed with everything else.
Jimmie Rustles are you greentexting on youtube lmao
This reporter is so winy lol
After watching a few docs with the reporter i like the guy but he doesn't fit in there
I think the majority of it was sarcasm (like the bit about losing his seat...etc) ....it seemed quite apparent to me at least.
This entire series is very interesting but this is the worst journalist on Vice. He doesn't even try to understand what these people are doing.
yes he does.
he is stating the obvious facts just like what a gamer should be doing.
xsgzx he’s as annoying as Hamilton. Just in a more obnoxious immature way as Hamilton is more of that Frog throat intellectual druggie hippie fuck.
"We wanted to see how humanity got to this point"?
This is the most biased and one-sided journalism I have ever seen. This guy goes into a community he doesnt understand, and just bashes it. Worst documentary ever.
Because its a bunch of fat pale losers
Haha, SPORTS my ass - most of those guys couldn't even bear running a few feet without being totally wrecked - oh, well; at least there were some nice looking girls promoting stuff.
You don't like esports? THEN DON'T PLAY IT YOU DUMB FUCK. Don't like sports? THEN DON'T PLAY IT YOU DUMB FUCK.
If chess is a sport, anything can be a sport.
Actually most of these guys have a rigorous diet and workout plan i know plenty of COD, CSGO and BF pros that could probably kick youre ass in a heartbeat
Bryan Estep He never said he played it in the first place dumbass
I guess thats why they call it eSports.
Such a difference of tone from Vices writing staff and their video staff.
Vice articles write about gamers being a hate mob against women,
Vice video shows what competitive gaming has become.
It's like being subscribed to a bipolar hipster.
DeviantCare Split Personality is NOT the same as being Bi-polar.
vice was/is anti-gamergate? ôO
Yeah and none of them are good at journalism. This dude is terrible.
Video game journalism is dead
wait, so its not okay to write about actual misogyny in the gaming community? It doesn't label all gamers that way, just the ones that do it. TIL you have to ignore problems to be okay with something
Dude wtf the only thing this guy focused on were those Korean girls like cmonbruh
He’s a simp
North Korea: we require more minerals, to build another statue for Kim Jum Um.
South Korea: we require more minerals, to construct additional pylons.
This was just too perfect
+Never Letmego thats just being racist cos i actually respect kim jong un and i live in london
we must construct additional pylons
protoss ALL THE WAY
Maher Hamadouch so you respect a evil dictator?
I respect gamers its cool But calling it a sport? Thats cute
***** No, it doesn't. It requires sitting on your ass all day.
Sergio Borini Said someone that has no clue what they are talking about.
I get why people dont want to call it sports. It doesnt require a lot of physical exercise. But on a mental level, I would say it outplays most "real" sports.
yakumo961 No, you're wrong.
It's not a sport, it's called E sports, very different
Sergio Borini Ah yes. Very good point! Mhh! Obviously you have never even looked into the whole subject.
That condescending attitude is cringeworthy. Zero interest in the subject he is exploring.
I'm sry I can't accept this reporter. You should only report. don't show useless judgement of this reporter and also Vice please appoint who are actually are interested in e-sport, just not like this guy.
+Maledict gaming Yeah that's how real journalism should be, though VICE has somewhat of a reputation for often being non-impartial.
This is the worst VICE Doc I've ever seen.
Why send a reporter that's more interested in clubbing and hanging with grills than Esport. If you have to ask a streamer or a youtuber if they are a pro gamer, then you have no ide of what you are talking about. Really bad Vice!
Calm down. How would he be able to penetrate into a world of nerds and shut-ins? He doesn't seem like our kind.
hehe Im calm, I just think its stupid for VICE to send a reporter that is not interested in reporting. Guess I have to make a better one
Vice purposefully send people who dont know much about the world they're immersed in pretty often, or so it seems to be. A fan would have too many preconeptions to report accurately and the video's target audience would not be esport's fans so a lot of things a fan might report on would be irrelevant and quite boring to the watcher.
+Loke Odinson It's pretty interesting the way the reporter learns a whole new world that is very different from our traditional sports. It's a pretty cool idea what VICE did. It's kinda like Lewis and Clark venturing with Pocahontas (cosplayers).
Don't you mean sacajawea not pocahontas?
Is this satire? I love how you flew a seemingly clueless (about this issue at least) host out there for this report...
Oh well, we can't all be well informed, can we?
Seconded. He mopes it might be hard to get through this, but he didn't even learn stuff like character names, or faces and nicks of important teams (gets surprised at first at some dude taking his seat, doesn't see team cpt in him immediately).
Vice reporting often does this, especially in Noisey, and I think it's more of a stylistic approach than actual ignorance
I think he could have done his homework a little better and not been so cocky about the entire thing.
9385dee7
Agreed, I think this eSports series was made for outsiders looking in, rather than actual eSports/League of Legends players such as ourselves.
Otto Wolfgang agree.
This was horrible next time how about getting someone that's actually passionate about the subject
That pissed me the fuck off.
he was passionate about the spiral cats at least
Estephany De Luna that's not the point of the documentary dumbfuck.
Deez Nutz do you feel better bro?
At least know about the subject, even they don't have passion on it
these documentary could be better if the host had knowledge of the subject before hand
I know the documentary is trying to make it look like the host is out of his depth when it comes to eSports, but he kind of comes across as someone who just didn't do much prior research and is surprised that he wasn't able to get much exclusivity due to the presence of other bigger name press in the gaming world.
gaming isn't a sport its just competitive gaming
Members of the NFL arent sportsmen theyre competitive football players. See everyone else can do it to kid
Actual definition of a SPORT as provided by the SportAccord (the organization which decides what sports are)
SportAccord uses the following criteria, determining that a sport should:
[1]have an element of competition be in no way harmful to any living creature
not rely on equipment provided by a single supplier (excluding proprietary games such as arena football)
not rely on any "luck" element specifically designed into the sport
They also recognise that sport can be primarily physical (such as rugby or athletics), primarily mind (such as chess or go), predominantly motorised (such as Formula 1 or powerboating), primarily co-ordination (such as billiard sports), or primarily animal-supported (such as equestrian sport).
So yeah, see the part where they say that they also recognise that sport can be primarily mind, primarily co-ordination? Yeah thats esports.
Gg no re, get rekt scrub
Yeah, coming from s guy that follows league at the professional level, it irks me when people call it a sport. Competitive gaming sounds suitable
You realize that sport is pretty much defined by competition. There doesn't have to be a physical component. If you feel like there has to be one then we could get rid of a LOT of competitive sports. Would you consider competitive archery a sport for example? I would. Even tough a pro gamer probably burns a lot more calories during a match than someone who does archery.
Indrek Everything takes focus and is hard to master: Cooking, playing the violin, writing, knitting, painting, folding origami, singing, etc, etc. Are they all sports now?
Classic VICE.. Hipster host just soaking up the limelight. Bad posture is so hip right now.
He's literally just trying to bang those models the whole time and is pissed when Hai tries to swoop in. Lol so professional
for me somehow I find the young people in Korea so superficial all looks but empty.
as opposed to young people in the rest of the world?
Korea is on the top leading the geek culture nowadays in Asia.
REIQ You butt-hurt that they're better than you?
better than me in what? PLz you going there? LOL
REIQ You still butt-hurt?
He looks so jealous af of Hai rofl
+Richard Lam for me he looks more jealous of the girl xD
+Richard Lam #HaiSenpai
Who
So is this about gaming or about the reporter's insecurities and need for attention? I just sat through like 5 minutes of him being jealous of one group and lusting over another. I hate that this guy is in SK. I always cringe when I see im doing a doc in South Korea... But oh well, get paid, live that life... but you're not funny. Try a different angle.
I'm moving to Korea. Fastest internet speeds, good food, beautiful scenery, and good looking women. Goodbye U.S.A
U must be stupid fuxk
Guitar man nope your stupid, you can't even spell
move to north Korea instead
How is it?
Guitar man #TRIGGERED
Everything he says sounds like he's trying to insult eSports
like 90% sure most good reporters don't just insult the thing they're supposed to be reporting instead of trying to understand it
like 90% sure most good reporters don't just insult the thing they're supposed to be reporting instead of trying to understand it
Too bad that Hai guy from Cloud 9 never gave you guys an interview in the end..It seemed like the interview was on his mind, but he probably wanted Vice to offer him loads of money for it.
It's five parts long could happen yet
he also has to do interviews all the time with him being the captain
Daniel Redford 'captain'
lol
seems like a douchebag for me.
Eric Harris If you go to the Vice website to watch Part 2, you can access Part 3,4 and 5 ;)

I was a CS player since 2004 to 2005. I am so proud of that experience, and facing off excellent and brilliant opponents is wonderful.
How did this guy ever ended up being a producer/director when he's clearly more focused on the girls than actually what's going on?
Giant stadiums, teenage millionaires, super fans, and addiction: Welcome to the world of eSports.
WATCH PART 2 NOW: bit.ly/ESPORTS-P2
This reporter don't even TRY to understand the game .... Why does he make a documentary on somethings he has no interest in....... He's the worst reporter i've seen on Vice News since 2 years
moustufu reporter have to be objective? :D :D
Nooneslama They should maybe have some interest on what they are reporting ... i don't know.....
yeah but u can overwatch alot if your just a little too deep in it
"Notice me Hai senpai" Vice
Take these guys to a night club with regular chicks they'll crumble.
They make more than you will ever by playing videos games. What makes you think getting girls would be hard when your already rich?
Charles i make 70k a year and i can retire at 49. They can make a million dollars over there gaming career they still wouldn't have more than me. Gaming is short term if they were smart they would be designers.
Rahsaan thomas Most of them make 80% of their income off of streaming/sponsors.
you seem really jelly that they have made more money in 5 years than you will in your whole lifetime.
If a top level pro korean gamer goes to a club everyone there would know who he was, and would prob be all over him. Us, in the west, probably couldnt fathom a celebrity pro-gamer, but in korea pro-gaming is national sport level.
yeah Im one of those people who find this entertaining. Its just like sports, you watch players play, you want to see who wins. Its still entertainment.
Baekhyun exactly but you have people who be like "but its not really a sport" and its these same people wo watc a bunch of grown men play a kids playground game. smh
its sort of like chess, they use their brain, they make a strategy, its really interesting to watch.
yeah chess can actually be considered a sport cause it take lots of study wen your at the highest level
Baekhyun People watch professional sports to see feats they are incapable of performing themselves. For example I could have trained 12 hours a day, 6 days a week from age 6-19 and I'd still never play NFL or NBA or NHL. I just don't have the physique (height/size) for it. However *anybody* can get that good at videogames if they want to. There is nothing "superhuman" about what these guys do. I bet they don't even get drug tested like real athletes do.
Prof Kaos Lol, buddy, I guarantee you could spend the rest of your life playing League and not be anywhere near as good as the top players.
Mental fitness is a thing, and being pro-level good at a video game requires both talent and training.
lol that was hai thats stole his seat
He was so clueless typical Vice quality
+Non è un canale per vecchi. thats actually why i liked it they presented it as an outsider looking in he was the ultimate outsider.
Then maybe get some info before doing a report? Journalism is shit nowadays.
@@imsokka2231 Ah the state of society, when actually important jobs like janitors or construction worker are overshadowed in pay by retarded celebrities who do fuck-all to contribute.
Ah, I remember back when I was competitive at gaming, and guess what, it was awful! It was literally taking something that was supposed to be made for fun, removing the enjoyment, calculating moves with mathematics instead of role-playing, and leaving feeling awful after losing by a point after winning tens of games in a row. All I have to say about this is that eSports fosters an utterly godawful environment for players, that often leaks into other games and corrupts large portions of the community, such as CS:GO or Street Fighter, reducing the game to a condensed anxiety attack instead of relaxing with your friends. Don't do it!
What a casual comment is this?
"Math is hard"
"Losing feels bad"
"I can't handle the bants"
Litterally cancer.
final fantasy 14 is the same, perfection or gtfo
yeah because high level sports dont have that thing
manictiger totally agree in my experiences with Japanese players in FFXIV, courteous and skilled
A week later, Matt was checked into a Gaming Rehab Clinic. After being introduced to League, and creating an account he quickly became addicted just like the rest of us. And when he refused to stop playing Master Yi and Teemo every single game, he was eventually arrested by the Korean Police for being "that guy" and sentenced to nerf in prison. RIP Matt Shea
LUL. That guy was so pissed that Hai stole his spot. Bro, he is 1000x more important than you.
Daulton Young who?
RowdyUpInHere c9 hai u dumfk
Andre Lum outside the lol world. hes a no body lmao. cry more
RowdyUpInHere And inside, he's one of the biggest stars there are. Which is why it isn't surprising that all the girls ditched the interviewer for Hai.
What the fuck is a Hai?
I just started watching EVO and esports videos like two weeks ago. I’m blown away that’s this world visit and people are successful doing a hobby into a lifestyle.
Lol this guy wasnt even trying to focus on the documentary he was more intot he spiral cats
this dude does not seem like the guy to be doing this video
I remember back in 2015 when this came out, it was right around the time I was getting into League.
Seeing him sip all that haterade is always funny, it's honestly why I keep revisiting this every few months or so lmfao
Teacher:- who had not done the homework?
Me:- 12:32
Oh sona is a wizard now. Ok
I laughed my ass off when I heard that, and when he called ahri a furry, although he ain't wrong about that.
7:20 lol
Again, I don't really understand why people are talking about how esports isnt a sport. No one cares if it qualifies as a sport or not, nor do they care if the league players are athletes or not. They make money from it, it's their job, people enjoy watching them, and thats it.
I would watch your show, but being anti-Gamergate and extremely terrible at Journalism means I won't watch Vice anymore.
Even if you guys were just neutral instead of saying its all about harassment and refusing to look at evidence.
Jesus Christ I used to like Vice, now, makes me just feel bad.
Boo fucking hoo poor little you
I find it funny that people say it's not a real sport, BECAUSE SPORT ABOUT RUNNING AND JUMPING!!!
Hecy JL He was being sarcastic. Please don't comment again.
Oh yeah sorry man I will never comment ever again... stfu
Thanks.
Muu Duu Theirs no running or jumping in Golf
THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS There is no running or jumping in soooo many sports
The interviewer seems like he HATES video games with a passion. like oh my
oh man,i cant believe i didnt find this channel sooner...lots of content here...ilike this channel...informative and not boring...subscribed
This host is so salty.
1 million sport prize?....... real professional sports athletes laughing their asses off.......
and yet more people watched this championship than the NBA finals and hockey finals combined...
Tell me when you make 100-200k a year at the age of 20.
I want you to look up Dota 2's prize pool for 2014. Plus esports are a very new thing, the fact that it's prize pool is that much, this early is fairly impressive
Dennis Tran Uh the median salary of an average NBA player is 2.33 million USD per year. Kobe bryant made 30 million USD in one season. Plus when you take into account endorsements it's even higher.
Super Nova I already know that...Without a doubt pro athletes are paid more than professional gamers. I'm saying there are aren't many jobs that pay 20 year olds 100-200k without a college degree.
Competitive gaming > E-Sports
Well isn't E-sports just competitive gaming on a professional level?
Cleaner Bear
I was just talking about the name lol. E-sports sounds stupid to those not aware that playing video games competitively is a sport, which I also think it is not.
Cleaner Bear No. E-sports = competitive electronic gaming.
NorthLyfeHollywood exactly dude, I never preferred to use E-sports, E-sports or Cyber Sports sounds like some old dudes wanted to make it sound cooler... use competitive gaming, high level gaming or something
E-Sports is used b/c its a good soundbite. It's easy to say, easy to understand, it conveys exactly what you think it is. It's not going anywhere :)
9:34-10:04 shouldn't have been talking about him or maybe he would have given you the interview. Seems like he heard everything the guy was saying lol
This guy reporting is cringier than anyone else in this video
I never go to these events, but damn its good to see gaming getting positive coverage in the media!
But Dota2 has the highest prize ever. *flies away*
that was payed by the fans riot puts their own money it it
V1C1ousV1C2 And where does Riot get that money? Oh wait...
TwoFistsOneHalleluja If league opened up a crowd funded prize, and released Sona and Ahri skins that show more cleavage then we can handle. I can guarantee we will blow your prize out of the water. Heck we could beat yours by putting all our skins on a 33% off sale for 4 weeks and going with that.
I dont know why but I laughed pretty hard at your comment
So the reporter get jealous cause someone sitted his chair 😂😂
I need to get my DotA mates and start playing LoL professionally.
alZiiHardstylez hope you can make it!
Playing DotA w/ mates is analogous to playing street football after all
?
alZiiHardstylez pro dota players make more than league players from tournament winnings, and the league players who seem to make the most are korean anyway
What I was getting at is that LoL is a helluva lot easier than DotA, I think if my mates and I with our combined game hours is well into 30k into learning LoL it would be easy for us to become professional if we put some serious hours into LoL
alZiiHardstylez Lol that is what i thought you meant. Calm down Rambo
"eSports"
Includes KSI in the first minute
This is going to be the most uneducated VICE "Documentary" yet i can't wait
Well I Wasn't wrong he's already clueless @2:30 fucking brilliant
This whole documentary sucks, I mean the host doesn't know anything about eSports. He is more interested in the cosplay girls than his own documentary. Also he makes comments about "some guy" stealing his seat (how the fuck is this related to eSports?) That guy turns out to be a member of Cloud9 and he doesn't know?? Seriously? Why bother and not do your research beforehand?
God. This is as bad as fox news or RTL...
If you seriously want to do something, than do a documentary about something you are interested in. If you like cycling, talk about all the grandfondo, giro, tour de france, lance armstrong or chris froome. If you like guns than talk about ak47, america and whatnot. But don't make a documentary about something you don't give a fuck about.
***** Agreed, why not make a documentary about cosplay girls than. :s
***** Personally I think he already looks like one, that was my initial impression after watching this video. But well, you got a point.
R u serious dude? The guy is trying to get all anglesn i esport industry, not just cosplay.
this documentary was made for people that don't know much about e-sports, so its logical to choose someone who isnt biased towards it
Really loved this documentary, does anyone know any of the other things the host has been in??
The way the team captain of cloud 9 played the dude from vice😂😂😂 like bruh can’t you see I’m busy
why did the reporters sound so pessimistic about the event? "It seems like a nice day to be inside and playing video games", kinda compared it to playing in a basement. its not very good journalism to be have biases towards what their reporting
Vice reporters are very unprofessional. They seem to lack any compassion or interest to their story.
12:40 Does anyone know where I can get more music that sounds like this? No idea what to search.
1:53 anyone know the artist of the music or where i can listen to similiar?
JORTS!!! And she's not a wizard shes a muse, nub
LOL KSI what a beast :)
Is KSI well known in other countries except UK
Oww and congrats on the 100,000 subs, and please do a vid when u get the 100,000 plack : )
howdy there fancy meeting you here
LurkDaily bruh.
PHLYDAILY BITCHES. If warthunder became an esport 10/10 would watch.
7:21 This guy is like 'I LOVE eSPORTS! XD
This documentary feels more like a heart break drama where the uncool guy loses the girl.
Wow he really should have done more research and they really should pick someone less awkward. He really did keep going back to how he couldn't spend time with the spiral cats. Such an interesting event though
Lol, Hai slides in like Mr. Steal-Yo-Girl
Never knew this was a thing thank you Vice
I absolutely love gaming, CS:GO, Dota 2, LoL, TF2, and I love being competitive and have actually won a competition of 2 hours of Counter Strike 1.6 in my school, battling high schoolers and beating them. The only problem is that Hai really let me down with his attitude, hear me out guys, if I ever become a pro and join a big gaming team, I will for God's sake NEVER act this arrogant. And if you ever see a guy named Cronexx in a big team, it's me. :)
yea man this is their world, don't judge. Have some RESPECT!
So with the emergence of the gaming "professional" or gaming "celebrity", is it fair to say that society has officially deified sedentary behavior? It is a sad day in hell when a pasty faced obese guy, sitting in his basement, consuming copious amounts of "cheesy poofs" (yes, its a South Park reference), gets elevated to the same status as an individual who has spent decades honing his or her body through hours in the gym to be paragon of physical perfection. Please don't insult real athletes by calling these keyboard and controller jockeys "athletes".
deified sedentary behaviour? You think its easy to become a pro gamer? These mfers might not be athletically gifted but they work fucking hard to get where they are.
Did you even watch the video? I didn't see that so called fat guy anywhere, I see now that your fucking blind with ignorance to see the truth.
Nobody in e-sports calls the competitors "athletes". I'm a huge SC2 fan and I've never, ever heard that by any players/casters/fans. Only in misinformed news articles.
They may however call the scene a "sport", due to the fans/sponsors/coaches/teams/training regimens/tournaments/etc that e-sports shares with traditional organized sports. This debatable but fairly easy to argue for.
Lucy (Elfen Lied) What do you mean by "our society". USA? It's a global scene strongly rooted in asia and europe... dozens of countries and societies.
And how is it contributing negatively to society on the level of racism/sexism? If people are going to play games they might as well put some thought and effort into it.
And entirely unrelated, but racism and sexism in (non-religious extremist) societies all over the world is at an all time low. Literally the best it's been in human history. Not sure how that's "fucking low". Pull back and take an objective look.
I have never heard casters or professional gamers all themselves athletes . Also majority of gamers are pretty skinny.
lol I thought it was hilarious when the reporter got butthurt when that cloud9 guy took his seat. "Im kinda annoyed because there are people sitting with the spiral cats, and thats kinda my thing so...." HAHAHAHAHA.
I really like how you do not judge. the documentary was open and without prejudice
they should make a anime about e-sports.
Tatleman is there not one?
тops I wouldn't know
The Seperator the king avatar
I guess they have read my comment
there is a chinese one
Pls more esports. CS:GO, COD, SC2 & DOTA2.
Ive seen it on their site and it covers only LOL and FIFA to an extent. Not the games i mentioned. As i can read so far you can't see how big eSports has become. Even not having a backbone to back shit up. So you'll rant and have an outlet of your problems. But hey fine by me because it's probably pathetic and most of all not worth my time.
No cod
Ha what on earth has youtube done to my comment, Oh no i can clearly see how big it is (not that i give a flying fuck) and i remember me mentioning they'll upload more parts to it if you want to see more go to their site than guy, Backbone to backing it up?? backing what up that they don't upload esports? because i have been a vice fan since 3 months of their making of an account on youtube and hardly see an upload about esports nor do i see a playlist involving it entirely.
LittleNinja1215 Yes, CoD and Halo are apart of eSports regardless of how much you hate them.
I was taking a timelapse in one of the apartment complexes nearby of the stadium that day, twas a beautiful sunset
There are literally three PC bangs that I can see out my window. My first week in Seoul my students about shit themselves when I told them I never used my "hand-uhh phone-uhhh" to play games with. "Teacher! What-uhh do-uhh you-uhh use-uhh your hand-uhh phone-uhh for then??"
Never knew that sitting 18 hours a day in front of a screen playing games was considered a sport.
you forgot the part where they make more money than you in one weekend doing this "sport" than you would in 10 years.
Zyphox Guess what they still get no pussy. Wanna know what a real man's sport is? Boxing
You knew that people make a couple million off of one basketball game, whats the difference?
ToxicGamplays hell yea, being brain dead by the age of 30, so manly!
Yes but he won't get none
oooohhhh, im asian,............................. step 1 to gaming success, completed.
what's the song at 1:53?
Cool documentary! Would have liked to see not only League, would've liked some insight into Starcraft aswell, a bit different mentality I'd think when it's a solo game, more of a personality cult too around JD and FlaSh that would've been cool to see.
Seems to me that I picked the best era to quit videogames
I love it when journalists who have no idea about the gaming world get to do a piece on it, it's hilarious.
I saw the cloud9 shirt and started dying, thats my favorite american counter strike team, so i thought that was really funny :)
anyone know the song that starts at 1:53
Sport (or sports) is all forms of usually competitive physical activity which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use, maintain or improve physical ability and skills while providing entertainment to participants, and in some cases, spectators. Chess and bridge are also considered sports. You need to think about eSports as innovation. You know how you see in futuristic movies where people play virtual reality death matches? This is the start of futuristic electronic sports innovation.
We will be seeing eSports evolve and help evolve technology even further. Its ok if you dont accept this as sport. Youll be left behind just as people who dont accept new technology. Your children and grandchildren will know eSports and in some way or another will effect their lives.
I know this is 2 years ago but i just want to thank you on correcting so many 90 year old mafia bosses that still cant handle the fact that football isnt #1 anymore so clap clap
