Hey great video. I’m currently seeking to switch to hotshot’s blackdiamond outlaw 15w40. I’m currently on amsoil 15w40 marine oil with a amsoil bypass filter system using EABP110 filter.
As for grease I been using amsoil marine grease. Works wonders on boat trailer bearings and the stuff won’t come off easy. I find it more water resistant then the racing grease. But things that like to slide I use a moly mortified grease. And for bearings that roll I use bearing universal grease.

I had a 2009 6.4 F250 and started using the hotshots secret additives, oil and fuel, in it about 130k. I traded it at 193k and the engine still ran good. It just developed a tick only after it warmed up. Had a technician hook up and check injectors and was shocked how steady it was running. He asked me if I did new injectors. I said from 88k to 193k they were the same as when I bought it. I’m a big fan of hotshots. I’ve watched a frozen 🥶 test with amsoil and rotella oil and rotella came out on top. So who knows.

I seen the test you are referring to. The Amsoil wasn't even supposed to flow at the temp for that grade. Amsoil has more additives for protection. For that colder temp you'd run the appropriate oil.

How many gallons of oil does your 6.7L holds ? 3.5 ish ? Almost 4 I would bet.

If you have the ability to run a deleted truck, HSS Black Diamond oil is hands down, the most supreme oil you could ever run in a diesel. Its additive package is so robust, it will damage CATs/SCRs/DPFs. No one can hold a candle to that. If the oil is compatible with emissions systems, its wear protection will be inferior to the Black Diamond.

So if I hypothetically had a deleted 6.7 powerstroke I could run the black diamond with no issue?

As much as I like Amsoil, their SDS for 5w40 euro, Hydrogenated oil base which is group 3 for blend even tho they say fully Synthetic. while the Hot Shots 5w40 shows 92% 0 (unknown) -Non hazardous Material (PAO??), so idk why all these oil company is hiding from. using cheap oil and then blend additive, then sell something else and charge u an arm and a leg. the only thing that stand out is higher Flash point 248c vs 224c.

Amsoil doesn't have an oil that compares to hot shot secrets black diamond outlaw oil. They have heavy zinc content for anti wear and Amsoil does not, so it can meet emissions. Plus Hot shot secrets has FR3 friction reducer built in, Amsoil only has a friction reducer in its automotive racing oil

SAE 15W-40 Heavy-Duty Diesel and Marine Oil cannot be used in emissions equipped vehicles. I do think black diamond is a little better, but it's also almost twice as expensive so I'm not sure it's 2 times better.

I run Amsoil in all of my vehicles, including my 6.0 Powerstroke and they all like it quite a bit. I’m going to do some oil analysis soon to compare to other oils. If you’d like to try some Amsoil I have an account with them and can get it for you at a discount.

    • @vietassassin

well from their SDS, I will assume that Hotshot is better for using group 4+/5 base oil if true, whatever they mean by "0- Non-hazardous material) vs AMSOIL, im using their 5w40 euro diesel oil and its group 3 (Hydrogenated base oil). anyone can prove me differently. ftw atm Hotshot.
edit: I also checked out their AMSOIL Max-Duty they don't even list their base oil lmao just the additive.
