    Story :-
    In this situation of AITA, we deal with a case where OP has planned to kick her step dad out of the house he shared with her mother exactly the day of her funeral. This is because he had abused her mother mentally and emotionally right throughout there relationship and he even cheated on her. OP decided to kick him out on the day of the funeral though because he had showed up to the funeral, with a woman that everyone knew as his best friend but OP knew she was in fact his mistress. Because she didn’t want everyone to really know the disgrace he had caused her mother, she didn’t specify why she was kicking him out. So this caused outrage on both her step dad and her mothers side of the family, as even though they weren’t married they were still together for almost 10 years. After she kicked him out the stepdad threatened to sue OP for the house and OP’s agreed to it. With the help of her father who was an investigator and her step mom who was a lawyer they gathered evidence against him and his mistress. They found out the mistress was pregnant and decided to use that, but they also found out she was cheating on him. They used this info to win the case. After the case though OP’S stepdad tried to attack her and when he failed they called the cops and it was later found that he had killed his mistress, after finding out that she cheated on him. After which he had attacked OP hoping that even if he went to jail he would get rid of her too.

      I could be very wrong, so sorry if I'm overstepping, but I doubt it's because of "love" that she stayed with him. She calls it that, but really it was more like fear. My dad was a disable Vietnam veteran and my mom did things to my dad with his medication and would neglected. He had a real messed up back that would cause him become temporary paralyzed from the waste down and she would leave him there. He had many other health issues that cause many problems. He died and resuscitated back to life several times in his life starting from birth. The umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and he came blue. Anyways if I knew what was going I would went to jail for beating her a** with a smile on my face. He purposefully kept all of this from me. I not usually a violent person but it angers me people be abused other people especially those in weakened conditions and people that hurt animals can suck it. I know he felt his dignity was taken away but to me that doesn’t ring true. He dignity never left because despite a bad childhood and his marriage to the wicked witch of the west [my “mom”] he treat others with kindness and respect even when they were buttholes directly a**hat to his him. He was the type a person to give you the shirt off is back and go get a sunburn himself. To me he kept his dignity and all she did was show was what horrible waste of human skin she is. None of them deserved to die, especially that poor baby, but the silver lining is their deaths sealed TJ's fate. I think it's safe to say OP's violent and narcissistic stepdad TJ is NEVER going to see the light of day again. If he does get prison justice, that'll be the cherry on the karma cake. First let me say that I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your voice. I have hearing problems, so some noises and voices really bother me. But your voice is wonderful to listen to. So thank you for making my reading time enjoyable.
    My parents divorced when I was 16. My dad had been mentally abusive to my mom although he was never physically abusive to her. He was both mentally & physically abusive towards me, whenever he could get away with it. He always tried to say that he was just disciplining me, whenever mom jumped all over him about it. It wasn't an everyday thing, he was just super hard in the way he would punish me. When I got older, he would "pop me in the mouth", if I was getting "smart" with him. He got mad at me once over dirty dishes, or something like that. And demanded that i rewash every dish in the cupboard. My mom owned MANY dish sets & they were in that cupboard. I'd been peeling potatoes & had just taken a drink out of my coke can, so I had a knife in one hand & a coke can in the other when he told me, & I said "I don't think so." He said what did you just say to me, and I looked him in the eye and said "Like hell I will", so he backhanded me. I looked at the knife and then coke can, he was in my face yelling at me, I have no idea what he's saying, when I hit him up side the head with an almost full pop can. Oh yeah I got the beat down, until mom got him off of me and sent me to my room. She came in later and told me she understood why I did it, but that he's my dad & it was disrespectful to hit him. She told me sometime later when retelling the story, that I looked at her with the biggest smile and said "IT WAS WORTH IT!" It was after that incident that she started making plans to leave dad completely. We moved out 6 months later to a house she bought. They divorced about 2 yrs later.
    He cheated on her with SEVERAL women, both local and in other states he visited for his business. Even though he made good money, he never paid for anything, unless he was trying to show off to others or he was playing nice, for whatever reason. Mom worked 2 jobs to take care of us, (me and my siblings). Even working 2 jobs, I never felt neglected. She was there every morning helping me get ready for school & home when I got out of school. I never understood WHY she stayed with my dad for so long. She just say cuz she loves him or cuz its better for us kids, (yeah right! I hated how he treated me. He'd call me names, like stupid, moron, fat ass, dumb ass & his favorite MEATHEAD. To this day I cringe at that word. I became so self conscious, I ended up with a eating disorder.) Eventually she got tired of his lies, cheating & BS & finally left him for good. He's remarried a couple more times & he's been with his current wife over 20 years, (and yes he's treated all his wives the same way). Mom remarried 1 more time, but she got another lying, cheating asshole & they divorced 2yrs later. She's stayed single these last 29yrs. Unfortunately karma caught up with dad. After 2 really bad car accidents, he started having seizures, which led to more issues. In the last accident he rolled his car 4 times and 2 times end over end. We didn't even know if he'd make it. He did, but now he can't walk without assistance or with his walker. His brain damage caused him to lose about 15yrs of memories. Mostly around the time of his grandkids growing up. My point is that its not always fear that makes someone stay. There can be many reasons; hope, that things will change; it's more convenient to stay; you've been pushed down so many times, you feel like you don't have any other choices.
    To this date I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with my dad. Mom is perfect in my eyes (most of the time, lol)

      @PrincessQ-fj9ly ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. Very sad. 😢 It doesn't help that society always had rose colored glasses with it comes to marriage and relationships. It's even worse is that sexist and misogynistic people are still preaching(and probably will always be preaching)that a woman is only worth something if she has a man by her side and children in her arms. It's really frustrating when you think about it, especially when you consider that there were plenty of women in history who have proven to be successful and remembered because of they were defined by their achievements, not their martial status or maternal status. Sorry for getting a little profound, but I wish more of my fellow women would remember that we're more than just trophies, dolls and baby making machines.
