  • I am so greatful to be a part of #makerschallenge5 - search that hashtag to see all the other channels, which I will also link below, as well as my usual referral links and discount links.
    I got the opportunity to join this challenge to get myself to make something new! I used my artwork as an inspiration for the project which led me to my final decision of what to make.

    Fantastic video! That tiger iron though!🤣 I love the idea of making something like handles for tools; it's the kind of thing you spend a ton of time with so that personal touch is something you get to see regularly!       Thank you so much for inviting me. Not going to lie I had a project prepared last year in case I got the invite that I never ended up making and might have to do in a future one 😁. Tiger iron and tiger eye is something I don’t usually like to work, and not just cause of the mess. But I’m happy with that piece and how it came out!

    That was a really cool project. I didn't really understand what linoleum cutting was until you explained it better at the end of the video. I like your artwork, and those new tool handles are just awesome.

      Thank you! I had explained it at the start initially but I had cut out a lot of footage haha. I have some older videos and shorts that show the block printing process start to finish. But I may be doing some new ones very soon here now that I made these!

      Thank you! Considering the small issues I had I’m very happy with how they look. I still may end up coating the crazy lace to help hide the super glue holding the cracks together. But for a rushed project unlike any other I have tried I’m happy!

      Thank you John! It was a lot of fun. Wait for the bonus footage if I decide to share it all it’s over 100 minutes long hahah. But that’s before speeding up polishing sections. And like 15 minutes of me just filming the handles done lol.

    I'm 61 and I remember doing linoleum block carving and printing in High School as a freshman and sophomore. I LOVED it! And I loved your work, both the linoleum and lapidary tools. (Especially the dandelions!) Great job on your Maker's Challenge!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

    All three handles are gorgeous, but I'm in love with the red crazy lace agate! They look like they would be a pleasure to use.

      Thank you! It was a fun project! Unlike most of my videos, also very rushed 😅 so forgive some mistakes. I have mostly just done cabs and free forms in the past but this challenge is a great way to branch out of your comfort zone!

      I might make more but have them be things for smithing like an agate tipped piece to bend the bezel on some silver over the girdle of a stone.

    Amazing idea to make something useful and beatiful for your art. You could maybe try reaching out to someone with a 3D printer to make the part you need if you want to make more.

      That’s not a bad idea. I have a few friends with 3-D printers, I’m just not sure if it would be strong enough made with plastic. But it’s definitely something to consider.

      @@anniegironne8444 oh yes if you have a very fancy 3-D printer, I have seen that but don’t know anyone who can print metals. That would be awesome!
