I first watched Stein's Gate Zero and I was looking at the story like.... This story feels like there's a part 1 so I go look for where I could find the part 1. I finally find it on Netflix, watch the entire thing (El Psy Congroo!! and all that) then instead of watching through (what I consider to be) the very despressing ride that is the middle portion of Stein's Gate Zero, I skip to the last few episodes where it becomes an absolute thrill ride of love, determination and absolute cool. Although, I didn't like it so much because their combining it with the main timeline felt forced. Nonetheless, it was cool. I loved seeing his determination to jump back a 1000 times just to save Christina and his beloved Mayuri. And can I just say, I aspire to be a person like Mayuri. She the sweetest, most kind, most (NOT NAIVE) character in any anime I have ever seen yet. TO TOO ROO!
I only watched s;g for the first time in late 2019 and it's had a massive impact on my life but I couldn't really pin point why but I think you nailed it perfectly. I've had depression for about as long as I can remember and I would constantly destroy myself by thinking over what happened that day and why all my friends hated me, why nothing went well for me. Steins;gate obviously didn't fix all my issues but it helped me find the mindset that I have now so it has a special place in my heart. This was a great video too!

Incredible! You perfectly summarized how I feel after editing a video😂 But that being said, I think there are Benefits to it as well. If you're able to accept the mistakes you found in the past, you can use that knowledge to improve your Future, but you have to make sure that finding those mistakes doesn't demoralize you 🤷🏽♂️
I love this series but ultimately what got me was the fact neither had to die, he just had to believe Kurisu died for that moment. (you also realized he physically killed her as well)
its only an opinion but i believe that steins;gate is the best anime cause it mixes the main Sci-Fi storyline and romance and bonds thats created, these together makes the watcher to feel the characters, yeah its different in very ways like its not that action to play a song and starting to ora-ora people. like, every scene of this anime fits, you are happy in first half of season then litterally everything changes and when the MC begins to fix everything he realizes that he needs to choose between his childhood friend (who he wants to be happy , he love mayuri but just not a romance) and his love. personally, i liked both seasons equally but steins;gate 0 was my type because it showed the adult version of okabe who was bluffing and ... to make people near him happy. but in s2 we see what world can do to people like him.
I just love the dynamics between okabe and kurisu, so cute and wholesome. I also really like outfit of kurisu and she is most realistic tsundere out there.
I think an interesting counterpoint to S;G's determenism was sort of lost in the translation from VN to anime. See, the whole point of the Steins Gate Worldline, the unknown future Okabe is asked to reach in the final stretch of the plot, is that it's completely unknown and unknowable, implicitly free from strong convergence. Throughout the story, Kurisu constantly reiterates that she thinks Worldline Convergence Theory is complete bull, in a way that's both very humanitarian, but also quite scientific - she quite correctly points out that even if it's the accepted theory in the future, that doesn't mean that it's 100% true. And, come the ending, when Okabe gets his groove back and goes back into dumb Mad Scientist LARP mode, he starts his usual rants from the beginning of the story, only with much more actual weight behind them. He swears to "upend the ruling structure of this world" - and he doesn't mean the Committee of 300 (he's so far away from being able to fight them that the anime cut all direct references to them entirely), what he means is that if the laws of the universe deny him a happy ending where he can save both Mayuri _and_ Kurisu, then damn those laws. If Steins Gate is something Okabe pulled out his ass, then "the choice of Steins Gate" means something Okabe chooses, himself, no matter what the laws of the world say. (I think this idea that denying the reality in front of you in order to create a happy ending lands much better not just because of extra context in the VN, but also if you played the previous game in the series, Chaos;Head, a game about psychics who change reality to match their perception of it. Chaos;Head itself loosely implies that everyone's psychic, just not always to the degree of being able to manipulate reality, more of a collective unconsious deal. It says that winter skies above Shibuya are a duller blue, because in the colder season, less people look up at the sky and wish for blue. This motif of the "sky" and "observation" crop up so often in this series that it's pretty tightly tied to Steins;Gate too. The VN's original OP for instance - "Skyclad Observer", whos lyrics refer to Okabe's plan to fool his past self to change the future.)
I highly suggest you check out the Steins;Gate visual novel - and the Science Adventure series of visual novels as a whole. Steins;Gate is an excellent anime, but the visual novel is an absolute masterpiece, taking you far deeper into the story than the anime ever could. The other entries (Chaos;Head, Robotics;Notes and Chaos;Child) aren't as well known because their anime adaptations weren't great, but their respective visual novels are incredible (in my opinion, even surpassing Steins;Gate)
Watched the first few episodes when it originally came out and loved it! Its definitely on my watchlist, so if there's a topic I want to discuss about it, I certainly will! :) Appreciate the comment!

When I want to rewatch a anime sci fi drama horror thriller, I'd choose this. Not just for the science or the story, but the characters, how they change and grow. The side episodes are tide into the story so well there apart of the whole thing. It's so good I wish there was more. It could even be a new invention something to do with finding anonymous, like they research the very strange things that happen. Lot of options for story telling, they could even be 1 or a few episode stories. It could even explore the characters relationships. Like the cliffhanger, we ask what happens to them next?
Interesting video mate! A spoiler ahead so stop reading now if you don't want any. I failed to cover this in my review video as well and should have included it as it reinforces the incompatibilism/determinism argument. Kurisu and Mayuri were both determined to die, you can see this when Okabe has to watch the time machine get blown up over and over even in the world line where he saved her at the expense of Kurisu.

I already have watched FMAB, hunter x hunter, Death note, vinland saga and cowboy bebop... But no, Steins gate is the best anime that I've watched
I need to take a break on watching anime after Steins;Gate because I feel like no anime will be able to satisfy me anymore because Steins;Gate is just the best.
Stein Gate is about a bunch of nerds Which decided to play with time. If the time machine had not been invented by them, Sern would not have ruled the world in Alpha World line, In Beta World line the third world war would not happen. So Okabe and his friends were responsible for the chaos that would happen in Future. Suzuha travel in the Past to change the future, all what she has to do was to warn them about time machine, and tell them that they need to destroy the time machine, but instead she helped them, she allowed them to get an IBN and hack Sern, she didn't warn them that if they hacked Sern, Sern would send agents to stop them, when they realized that it was a mistake what they did, it was already too late.I wouldn't travel in the past or future, because if I travel and change something, something else will change, in conclusion it's useless to change the past, because something will change when you change something.
I heared its a great anime. Watching the mad scientist persona surface or the whole concept of a souped up micrwave able to send mails back in time. was funny. Not to mention changing the gender of one character. But than episode 12.. and everything changed. From a light hearted time travel stories to a insane drama of the protagonist

Great Video, you easily capture the premise and idea of steins;gate in 12 minutes great You seem to be done with Steins;Gate 0? If yes I would like to hear your opinion on it
1. This is not 2010, everyone who cares has already decided whether they watch sub or dub. Arguing won't change anyone's mind and no one else cares. 2. I watched it sub (and later dubbed again because I am a level 900 anime enjoyer consuming every version of the stuff I like 🗿 Imagine not hearing Matt Mercer's Levi or Jotaro because "ree dub bad" lmao). I just use dub for yt videos because I know a lot of people watch on a 2nd monitor/just listen. 😅
This video is naive based on title. It is not determinism and free will perfect nor prefect, but it displays a worldline theorem already disproven by heavy studies of quantum mechanics.
I gotta disagree that the phenomenon of certain events being unchangeable throughout world lines in steins gate is a consequence of determinism, its more a play on the idea of fate. Fate and determinism are similar, in that they both point to the inevitable occurrence of certain events, but they differ in their mechanics. Determinism is beholden to linear causality and the interjection of time travel elements give rise to the butterfly effect - a change in conditions leads to a change in outcomes. Fate on the other hand is not influenced by causality; fated events occur regardless and in spite of changes in conditions and the interjection of time travel cannot negate fate. For example, Okabe's inability to prevent Mayuri's death is a clear example of fate, though the show tries to pass it off as some form of determinism by setting Kurisu's death as a necessary condition to Mayuri's survival, but really what this is just a confused determism/fate hybrid system. This is science fiction, so they can play around with these things, but this is not determinism, as necessary conditions are logically antithetical to determinism and the butterfly effect.
Stein's Gate is the most boring yet the most exciting anime that I've watched. Just watching it gave me goosebumps how many times I rewatch it. Its story is amazing and you can tell how much the writer thought about it. The characters were all lovable. Its not exaggerated to say that it might be one of the best anime regardless of genre, story wise.
I think that the true chronological order is Steins gate 1-22-23b-Steins gate 0 1-23- steins gate 24. However, Spoilers: Your theory about not undoing the last one gave me pause, but if there was an IBN 5100 available with Ruka or she Kurisu woke up from her state and Okabe learned soon enough, the Steins gate chronology works.
This broke me because it took me until the final episode to realize that the it was a harem anime But seriously, pretty cool, it was a bit disappointing that in the end everything was literally undone but i get that it was the point of the show I also didn't get used to Okabe's friend being essentially a sexual harasser, against employees no less, specially since nobody ever made a big deal about it
23b isn’t the true ending, it’s leads into 0, and zero loops back around to 24, either way the story loops back to the happy ending, either way Okabe gets the happy ending he deserves
@@Koroto I would highly reccomend reading the visual novel of 0 instead of watching the anime if you can help it, the original steins gate is a great adaptation, there are a few details cut but nothing major (except the thing with nae, people who play the VN know what I mean), 0 cuts entire storylines and character arcs from its adaptation creating a weird Frankenstein’s monster of several routes from the vn, it’s still ok, but the VN is on a different level
I think he just prefers the dark ending which is understandable. I can see why some would feel the OG ending to be a bit of a cop out. However I don't see it that way. Okabe had to go through so much shit just to get the happy ending. He actually had to live in a world where Kurisu was dead for 7 years and never thought he was going to get her back so it's not like his decision was meaningless. TO TOO ROO!
Yeah I remember when he just had 30 subs not that long ago. It was a real shock because the videos are really well edited and overall made
I also suggest playing through the 0 vn, as it clears up some things and adds a lot more.
I suggest skipping Zero. Nowhere as good as the original, and it actually ruins the original in my opinion.
I haven't seen this anime in over seven years, but when Mayuri said, "ahhh, my watch stopped working..."
I felt that.
The only anime to leave a void in me. Whenever i even watch any steins;gate content i remember the feeling of the void. I loved 0 just as much as the first and the ending was just perfect. My #1 anime and imo the closest a masterpiece anime can be
The “oh no I just wound you” literally give me PTSD haha.
That is the greatest anime ever made and my favorite piece of media. The universe, enriched by the 0 season, movie and OVAs is such a great thing to experience. I feel worn-out after finishing S;G 0 just after S;G and the movie, not beacuse of pace or anything like that (I was watchng like one or two episodes a day in the final sprint, to last longer lol), but actually a rollercoaster of emotions that ends so beautifully. Really loved the show and recomend it to literally everybody that are open to this kind of media
"It's so dark and sad." Laughs like Okabe.
Wait, there's a B track?
Attractor theory
Really sad, yet wholesome anime. It's amazing how people can pick their own ending, for youn it's 23b, yet for me it's the "happy" ending where they both survive.
Technically the "true ending" is 24. I definitely understand why he prefers 23B but 24 is technically the cannon ending.
5:08 he didn't change forever until the 2nd time he used time leap, he thought it was all a dream and repeated the same events as the first time down to using the time leap again and then snapping out of his broken state.
Incredible! You perfectly summarized how I feel after editing a video😂
But that being said, I think there are Benefits to it as well. If you're able to accept the mistakes you found in the past, you can use that knowledge to improve your Future, but you have to make sure that finding those mistakes doesn't demoralize you 🤷🏽♂️
I see it as it was determined that he would exorcise his free will to save his friends. That is the power of Hyouin Kyouma!
I love this series but ultimately what got me was the fact neither had to die, he just had to believe Kurisu died for that moment.
(you also realized he physically killed her as well)
Hidden gem channel. I was here before 2k.
But yeah it's crazy how S;G is both really dark and really positive at the same time.
its only an opinion but i believe that steins;gate is the best anime cause it mixes the main Sci-Fi storyline and romance and bonds thats created, these together makes the watcher to feel the characters, yeah its different in very ways like its not that action to play a song and starting to ora-ora people. like, every scene of this anime fits, you are happy in first half of season then litterally everything changes and when the MC begins to fix everything he realizes that he needs to choose between his childhood friend (who he wants to be happy , he love mayuri but just not a romance) and his love. personally, i liked both seasons equally but steins;gate 0 was my type because it showed the adult version of okabe who was bluffing and ... to make people near him happy. but in s2 we see what world can do to people like him.
I just love the dynamics between okabe and kurisu, so cute and wholesome. I also really like outfit of kurisu and she is most realistic tsundere out there.
I can never watch episode 16 without crying my eyes out
I think an interesting counterpoint to S;G's determenism was sort of lost in the translation from VN to anime.
Looking for steins gate vids, thank you for making a new one you deserve a lotta likes.
I always loved this concept of the anime, but watching this video opened my eyes even more
Nerding out over series is what we do here 😅👍
I just watched 2 videos of you and instantly subscribed, I cant believe you dont have more than 100K Subs...Totally underrated TH-cam channel for sure
Thank you, really means a lot ❤
Beautiful insights on the anime, this was one of my favorites
Dude your channel is so good. You're underrated. You're going to take off soon. Keep going!
It's such a great story. So many of the characters lost so much, many times without even knowing it. The only one who knows what he lost, is Okabe.
Thanks for the recommendation! Will certainly give them a look! 👍
Just found you. Really love whatever I've seen of your stuff so far. I recommend that you watch Vinland Saga. I'd love to see you make a video on it
Watched the first few episodes when it originally came out and loved it! Its definitely on my watchlist, so if there's a topic I want to discuss about it, I certainly will! :)
Appreciate the comment!
@@Koroto There's specifically a certain philosophy about love in one of the episodes of the latter half which would be very interesting. Also, Askeladd, Thorfinn, Thors and Canute make great topics to talk about
When I want to rewatch a anime sci fi drama horror thriller, I'd choose this.
YESSSS STEINS;GATE EPISODE 12 WAS THE BEST EPISODE EVER WHY BECAUSE IT TOOK A BREAK OF ALL THE SHIZ THAT OUR MAN WAS EXPIRENCING THEN MADE IT THE HAPPIEST YET MOST MIND BLOWING IN A PG AND CHEERFUL EPISODE THAT WAS MADE.
I forgot I watched this anime. Ahh yes Steins;Gate made me shed tears upon first viewing for both seasons. It truly is a depressing and powerfully emotional anime. It resonates with me even today. Just unforgettable not that I remembered it lol. Definitely continue into a part 2 of season 2. I'd say the ending of season 2 is the perfect ending it stuck the landing.
If only I could watch it for the first time again
Good video dude, surprised this has not got more views
Just rebinged it and damn YES !
Steins Gate. The greatest anime of all time!
I had watched steins gate in 2018. I really like that serie. But I forgot what incredible is. I watched this anime 3 weeks ago and I remembered the greatest anime that steins gate is. I already have watched FMAB, hunter x hunter, Death note, vinland saga and cowboy bebop... But no, Steins gate is the best anime that I've watched
The sound of distant thunder !!!
did you do a vid for the sequel szn??
I need to take a break on watching anime after Steins;Gate because I feel like no anime will be able to satisfy me anymore because Steins;Gate is just the best.
Just finished it yesterday
oh, a cool video to watc...wait MY WATCH ISNT WORKING SOMEONE HELP
When shows like steins gate end It give me this kinda empty feeling it’s an amazing show
The world is a scary place and we can't do anything about it. that is the feeling I got when watching this show
Stein Gate is about a bunch of nerds Which decided to play with time.
My fav anime of all time
I heared its a great anime. Watching the mad scientist persona surface or the whole concept of a souped up micrwave able to send mails back in time. was funny. Not to mention changing the gender of one character. But than episode 12.. and everything changed. From a light hearted time travel stories to a insane drama of the protagonist
Great video I absolutely love this anime
Glad you enjoyed the video! :) It really is an amazing series, watching it for the first time was a crazy ride.
finished like 30 minutes ago. wow. amazing
"Imma mad Scientists! It's so coooool, son of a b*tch!"
Honestly the thing that made steins;gate even more special for me was the dub
I watched it initially in sub but then I switched to the dub because it was not much as bad as others. Wish anime can have good dubs
bro, after watch sub, ru dub, and eng sub, i realize how terrible the last one
Been hearing quite a bit about Stein's gate latley... gonna look into it...apparantly it's one of those IQ animes...
Steins;Gate is so freaking good, going in totally blind was perfect. What a rollercoaster man
Well thats just not how steins gate ended, thats how steins gate 0 started
I didn't for me. I was more"OK, that's a good show, next one plz'
Yeah this series made me depressed ngl this series made me rethink things a lot. I got bothered so much that I never felt like I was the same person.
I've never cried watching anime but the closest i got was in steins gate
Why did it break you? Huh? Thats strange my watch isn"t working.
I’m a bit late and this is off topic. But I highly recommend this show called “Travelers” on Netflix. It’s great, and the writing is one of the best things about the show. Hopefully you could watch and possibly make a video on it
You have to watch steins gate ZERO and the movie!!!
Same here buddy, same here.... 😭😭😢😢
9:29 I'm confused, did you not watch zero? 23b is not the true ending
The order I got recommended was S;G till ep 22, ep 23b, s;g0 then ep 23,24.., idk if it was better but I really enjoyed it this way
Re:Stain Zero Gate
If it’s the choice of steins gate, then so be it
El psy congorro
Amazing video, this perfectly captulates my opinion on the show and the story and why I think it is one of the best anime.
Also, the direct sequel movie is a good addition to the true ending imo. Having the roles somewhat reversed.
Yub i feel broken , like destoryed
Great Video, you easily capture the premise and idea of steins;gate in 12 minutes great
You seem to be done with Steins;Gate 0? If yes I would like to hear your opinion on it
They need another season so they can actually reach steins gate.
Steins;Gate is peak fiction #fightme
I'm interested in your review of steins;gate 0 I personally had alot of problems with that sequal
Everything was going great until 3:59 where I realized its dubbed T T bye going for another vid lol
This show giving me a mini heart attack
I think you should watch Synecdoche, New York.
7 dislikes? this must be the way of Steins Gate!
Can someone explain me what el psy kongroo mean?
Stein's Gate is the most boring yet the most exciting anime that I've watched. Just watching it gave me goosebumps how many times I rewatch it. Its story is amazing and you can tell how much the writer thought about it. The characters were all lovable. Its not exaggerated to say that it might be one of the best anime regardless of genre, story wise.
I love this 😈
Am I the only one who thinks Kurisutiiiina is Best Girl of all anime?
I think that the true chronological order is Steins gate 1-22-23b-Steins gate 0 1-23- steins gate 24.
However, Spoilers:
Your theory about not undoing the last one gave me pause, but if there was an IBN 5100 available with Ruka or she Kurisu woke up from her state and Okabe learned soon enough, the Steins gate chronology works.
I Enjoy
....
Did you not watch the end of Stiens gate before jumping into the sequel!?
Of course I did, I talk about it in the video? 😄
This broke me because it took me until the final episode to realize that the it was a harem anime
But seriously, pretty cool, it was a bit disappointing that in the end everything was literally undone but i get that it was the point of the show
I also didn't get used to Okabe's friend being essentially a sexual harasser, against employees no less, specially since nobody ever made a big deal about it
His existence is cruel enough. No need to harp on him for making crude jokes.
well at least this friend becomes a much nicer man in the future
Amazing fcking video
Appreciate ya' :)
@@Koroto will u ever cover steins gate 0
Time will tell, if I feel like I have something worth saying - for sure!
I saw a clip of it in a funny compilation video and thought it was based on a comedy.. needless to say I was do wrong🤣😂😂😂
23b isn’t the true ending, it’s leads into 0, and zero loops back around to 24, either way the story loops back to the happy ending, either way Okabe gets the happy ending he deserves
I hadn't yet watched 0 at the time of making the video, but yup. Though I still like the thought that there is a dark ending as well haha
The episode 24 ending ties everything together nicely and explains exactly why it's called Steins Gate.
This anime is the reason why I’m a physics nerd
i already was one before, i guess that‘s why i love this anime so much
@@Len-vt5ol I’m taking physics next year any tips?

Its so weird hearing english voices to the characters you only know in japanese ^^. Cool video tho.
Japanese voices were the best ones.
