Just come across this vid , wanted a rig for long time , and tonight I finished building my omega prime . Only have logitech g29 for now as fanatec out of stock still. Anyway after finishing building prime I'm left with literally bags full of spares , fixing angled x 8 and nuts bolts csk screws etc like 40s and upwards numbers. And that's better than not enough I guess. Only difference is now the pedal tray set up for me is no longer a 3mm steel tray but Ali profile parts like the whole frame is made from , pure solid. Yeah also agree its proper heavy rig and I built it on floor . Back breaking lol. Took me like 4 hours to build . But pure solid rig
Great review Shaun. Thank you for taking the time to continue to review products like these. After watching your review I ordered my first Sim Rig, a GT Omega Prime. I got a 10% discount and free shipping. Ordered on a Sunday and it was delivered just 3 days later. Looking forward to building and racing the rig.
@@DerekMoore82 nice!! I like the seat but I am going to go with an NRG seat instead. So that will bring my cost to about that $800 mark too. Regardless, this is a great deal! $800 bucks years ago for a sim rig wouldn’t have gotten me anything half this good.
One thing I noticed on the pedal deck footage - it looks like the front of the pedals have a slight gap to the tray, but the rear of the ricmotech sits flush. It looks like some of the flex might be that gap in the front being taken up, so I'm just curious if there's some flange or something underneath the pedal base in the front that keeps it propped up slightly?
I have been watching you for years, I have a wooden build that I have used forever that you made way back in the day that is much like this. I have nextlevel racing rig but I would think of changing to this.
Great video. I’m tempted to buy 1. My only problem is funny because the problem, is also the solution and the adjustability. I wanted something to be adjustable enough so I can get the best position possible but as you mentioned, moving the wheel mount plate, up and down, trying to get best position and trying to make sure both sides are level, looks like a huge pain in the arse.
Should have no problem with this. It's very similar to the P1-X, and Barry has a good review where he's added the V3 to one of those with no issues. Would probably need to adjust your pedal tray height to compensate for the difference, but mounting shouldn't give any problems.
Rseat has no where near the adustability not to mention I personally do not prefer a wheel base mount that is only supported on one side. The Sim Lab although nice cost more plus add in the extra shipping cost the price is quite a bit higher.. Also add in that if you live in the U.S.A. the free shipping of the Prime Cockpit makes it one of the most affordable aluminum extrusion rigs on the market. Also there are a lot of actual seat options at much cheaper prices than the seats offered by GT Omega. Buy the Prime Cockpit sans seat and you could not do a DIY extruded profile build for much less $ not to mention it would be minus what looks to be a nice wheelbase mount plate. I also do not think it would be difficult to add a few braces to eliminate the pedal plate flex. I plan on ordering one of these within the next couple of months.
Again with another review that has probably tipped me over the edge and will make me purchase. Other reviewers suck, they just focus on the flash and bs. This is the info that matters.
Oh theres nothing better then morning coffie , with 30min of Shaun building stuff.
Thx Buddy , ill see you on Sunday (Simpit Road series)
Buying my first Sim rig due to this awesome review! Thank you very much sir I really appreciate you taking the time to show us this set up.

I missed this for I built my prime at the same time. that this was released cool beans
Where is Traction Plus system?
What about the SimXPro FR?
i wonder what shaun has added there to the feet of the rig?
Those are furniture sliders so you can move heavy furniture without scratching the floors.
Is this compatible with the NLR V3 Motion platform?

GT Omega Prime or F-GT Elite?
I still feel the Rseat S1 and Sim Lab PX1 are better options

The Barry of sim racing rigs...

They say is rated for 246 lbs?? Uh-oh! I just ordered one of these with the XLRS seat, and I weigh 260 lbs! 🤔😬
Derek, how did you make out with the seat? Im 240 ish and considering purchasing same. Thanks.
@@hughmungous6417 It works out great and is super comfy, and I actually gained weight and am now 270 lbs, but it hasn't been an issue for the seat.
