Finally, a man who is doing stretches, the same way I do it since I recovered from paralyzation illness as a child and I still do today at age 57, I am a martial artist, all my life, started at age 4, paralyzed at age 6, healed at 9, back into it, these stretches prepare you for advanced stretches which is why I am still doing splits at my age and still have the same speed as when I competed years ago, this man knows what he is doing.
My dad was a martial artist. I asked him to teach me how to kick and said stretch first so here I am. I’ll keep y’all updated on my flexibility after a month of doing this everyday
I’d recommend not doing it everyday. Similar to lifting weights, if you do the same routine every day you can end up negatively impacting your results. Aim for 3/4 times per week with a day off between each one for recovery.
The best stretching routine I've ever seen on TH-cam, very minimalistic, relaxing, simple and clear. I can feel a solid stretch, it will definitely improve my kicking techniques
Been doing this stretch on and off for the past year and a half and.... i've never felt looser. I was about 245lbs when i started my journey and did this with a strict routine, and let me tell you i was more flexible than i am now at ~210 as work has left me a bit more inconsistent 😂 even then, twice a week is enough to keep me agile and limber! Thank you so much for spreading your knowledge with us. Hope you realize how instrumental you are to people's muay thai and/or weight loss journey. Well at least you were to mine!
@@dero5466 yes i could, after doing It consistently for 2-3 months. I did it every single day, but that may be a little overkill. 4-5 times a week is probably better
I am a first degree in taekwondo and have really been searching for a good stretching routine to implore kick height and jeez this routine has to be the best and the most painful but right after I feel super loose and my kicks have actually seen improvement after just two sessions. Def will be continuing

I'm 41 and have been studying Taekwondo for the last 6 months, my mobility has (so far) prevented me from kicking high and having proper technique on lower kicks. @MAL-jw9pk it's been about a year. After 6 months I downloaded stretch it and did more stretching. I can currently go about as low as this guy In the video is. One thing I learned is that stretching helps kick height but the main thing is training your hip muscles with chamber hold routines.

i'm doing muay thai and i'm really not flexible. perfect routine. second time i'm doing today and already feels better. i'm gonna try to keep up every other day (or at least 3 days a week) and let you know in several months how it's going! (i know a lot of you haven't come back to say how it's going, i am gonna try to do my best to keep updates!)
Still doing it, last week only 2 but this week I'll do back to 4! It's definitely helping, it's getting easier, but I think I need to do some more mobility too! I'll try to stick to it and see how it is in a month

Thank you. I only just started muay thai and right after my first class I noticed how little I was able to move, the next day it hurt to move and my neck felt like I was wearing a batman costume. Just following this video the whole way through despite how much it hurt just proved how much I needed to stretch. And if some of these comments talking about their kicks improving are to be believed, I’m inclined to believe it’s helping.
I have been doing this for a month every night, yesterday I dislocated my knee. Stretching is important but it's also important not to overdo it or you'll end up like me lol

I use youtube everyday so just comment if you are curious how it's working for me UPDATE (After 1mo): I created a custom routine to stretch my hips and calves as well while preventing stretching my ulnar nerve. It's being doing me wonders.
i've been doing these daily for a week now. it's uncomfortable as hell, but can't say i've noticed much difference. kicks dont feel higher, but they feel more comfortable to perform. maybe will update later on
I'm starting my flexibility jounrey (actually 2 weeks ago) only with this vidéo 5 times a week. I am probably one of the worst in flexibility and my kick are hardly middle kicks so I'll keep an update in like 1 month at least cause it might take some time

After 8 months of this i am now able to get almost as deeps as you on the middle split. Started at about the distance you were at at 15:22 Update: 10 months into stretching now. Been doing muay thai (flexibility is no issue for kicking now, mainly it's weak hips) but anyways... I am now able to get my butt to about 12" off the ground.
@@dejozmaj Missed the date! It’s helped a lot with my flexibility, highly recommend doing it, but you’ll also need to pair it with strength training if you have weak hip flexors like me.

So I just did this for the first time and I have been personally invested in martial arts for nearly four years now and I wonder why I never decided to find a video like this, I always stretch but this covers thing I wasn't even doing before so thank you very much, on the box splits I was you give a smile to the camera and I said t out loud, don't smile at me I'm in pain here😂
Day 1: did all exercises except everything from 13.08. Couldn’t reach toes or bend the back as in video. Day 2: same as above but attempted box splits for a few seconds. Could reach to the toes now but needed a lot of effort. Couldn’t bend the back towards the foot for the first few exercises but it was slightly easier than yesterday.
I'm not so good at stretching, I can't reach my toes with hands - but it is way easier with the right leg. When I do it with my left leg like in the beginning of the video, it's flat on the ground and I start reaching my toes - I feel very sharp sting right in the middle of my calf... It's not the case for the right calf though. And this pain only happens during this exercise, I remember it being there a couple years ago when I first tried it (and then stopped doing this exercise again)
Started doing this. Plan on starting MMA in the next months because of more free time, decided to become more stretchy. I will keep you updated each day to say if i see any progress. This is my second day Day 8 edit: decided to take a little break, went straight back and i feel like even the break i took didn't lose any progress, even feel like I made some by resting well. I'm not sure what I'm writing here of if it makes sense but this is my comaback day.

Day 1:I just realized how tight I am,couldn't finish the whole workout, it's painful, let's see in the next day Day 2: I'm realy happy !!! I could finish the workout, I took dome rests but at least I finished it, feel awesome after the stretching section Day 3:i didn't stretched today because I still sore by the Last day, but in my shadow boxing section I see that the speed of my kick and my balance improved Day 10: the height of my kicks improved, i can front kick in the height of my clavicle and my roundhouse in the height of my lower chest

Don't forget to warm up before stretching! adds an extra 5 minutes but that's a small price to pay for protecting you from injuries.

Today is day 1 of my stretching journey!
FYI, I'm 19 yo gym enthusiast and although I look quite decent I have always been stiff and not as flexible as I would want to be.

Bro I've been doing this for 5 days now, i think i get more flexible than I was, but it definitely needs to work more on than, i think 2-3 months at least for a noticable result. My sexual droved harder after doing these exercises though 😅😅😅 So be careful with it 😉😉😉 lol

1.5 months into Muay Thai - my groin is constantly very sore, my flexibility is terrible, and I can't kick higher than my belly button.
Going to do this 4x a week, will update next month
Update: Groin pain from kicking entirely gone, kicking much more freely
