great contint i awaped M&M to carb on a 1998 EVO it was running good then the intake started a little draft so when taking apart i just replaced with carb i removed all not needed wiring i had milk crate full of wiring& parts i removed tank guts but the float i had to drill out the pea cock hole so filter would fit and went inside the tank and slotted the bunyoung so the reserve could empty all of gas HAPPY TRAILS

The Mikuni is a far superior carb in my opinion. I'm sure you will get people to argue both ways. It's just more modern and they run better and more consistently This swap was done on a Twincam. I'm sure it could be done on a Evo as well just have not done one as of yet to get the process figured out
@@rustymacneil3227 The harness is tied into the entire bike so removing completely would be a lot of work... It's possible just don't see any reason.. and yes I plan to do a follow-up video at some point just lots of other things going on at the moment
The 03 is a Delphi EFI. It's normally a trouble free system. I have never made that conversion so not sure how the conversion would go obviously could be done. But there is no conversion harness I'm aware of

Iwent with Thunder Heart ignition (no vacuum advance) on my reworked 2010 Dyna that is now 113" cirtesy of a reworked CVO top end and other stuff. It's simple and has no drawbacks at all, I was around before the use of CV carbs and vacuum advance never mind EFI, and bikes got slower and less powerful - of course they don't always meet the emmisions laws but here in the UK they don't test older bikes yet and I be dead before they do !
Hey man thanks for the video and this is something I have been wanting to do a long time on my 98 road king but i have the evo 80 ci motor and my research has shown i will need to change my ignition in the cam chest and coil too and I have never seen any wiring kit like I see you use on this video and also on my fuel tank my research has shown I would have to drill out my tank where the pet cock mounts cause it has steel lines welded inside going to the fuel pump and so again I would love to do this conversion so is this something that you could put together a complete kit for my 98 evo cause I don't want to to start chasing down parts and rather have a complete kit and if you could help me on this I would greatly appreciate it ? I would be happy to help anyway I can unfortunately I have not done a conversion like this on the late evos before so I can't say exactly what it takes. Only done the twin cam. Are you in our area? Where you could bring the bike to the shop?
Thanks but unfortunately I live in Mississippi and yeah it seems that the Twin cam model is a little easier from what I have seen but it's been done on the evo many times and my main two concerns are the tank mods and the wiring but I appreciate you getting back to me and I will continue researching this and thanks again.

@@p.n.1644 It's a complete new Harness. I just unplug the old harness and Ziptie it out of the way. Then I overlay the new harness and plug everything in.

05 is Delphi EFI which works great normally. Never had a need to develop a Carb Swap for those years. With that said I'm sure it's possible just have not ever figured it out

Got it back and 2 days later back to same issue. Idle rough, back firing in throttle body. Lines in tank replaced. Cam chain tensioners replaced. Still same issue going on. About 34,xxxx miles on bike.

I ordered your kit from you, got the kid, finally got the time to put it on. No idea how to put the enrichment cable on. Also, can I figure out the air cleaner adapter whatsoever.. bike was a part when I bought it, which doesn’t help.
I’m fixin to convert a 99 flhtcui. Had to do cam tensioner shoes and went with ss509c cams with SE cam plate. Will the dynatek eliminate the cam pos. Sensor? Will this conversion work with what I have done?
Got a question I'm hoping you could help me with. I did the conversion. Same carb,same namz harness, Daytona twin tek ignition. Runs great but I have the engine light flashing. Flashes 3 times, stops a couple seconds and flashes again. Seems it would be code 33 witch I think is fuel pump relay?😂 The ecm is obviously gone. How do I get rid of the light My gas light is on too but I'm guess the float
Did you leave the float in the tank after pulling the fuel pump? As for the engine light get your wiring diagram and find the engine light wire on the speedo and clip it
The one for the MM definitely won't work. I'm not sure if they make one for a Sportster but I don't believe they do. The Sportster has Delphi EFI which works really well. Why were you wanting to swap it

@@sgtbanjo If you are talking about on an Evo I cant say as I have never done any conversion in Evos only twin cams which you couldn't do without the Dyna. You could technically do it with the harness but they make it so easy there really isn't a reason not to use it

FI started in 1996. I am running aMikuni HSR 42 carb and points ignition on my '96 RK - simple yet she really goes now.

I have not used a Zippers kit before so can't really give an Honest opinion. This setup runs just under $1300. Not sure how much the zippers costs.

We sell the kit for $1440. Labor will greatly depend on your location. Or it's a pretty straight forward DIY with our kit.

Just to clarify, do you use the map sensor, or are you just plugging the hole with it?

I have not personally done a 99. But the harness for the 99 is plug and play. The mods will not be an issue. 42mm carb will run great like that.

Pulled the cover and found a small 3 prong connector that i didn't connect to the NAMZ harness 🤦♂️🤦♂️ all good now!!

Another great idea from Harley putting a fuel pump in a tank that’s almost impossible to get it in.
