Thank you so much! 🥰 I guess it depends on our definition of 'details'? To me, drawing detailed hair & eyes are natural because I enjoy them so much. But details like complex fashion, accessories, frills, ornaments, geometrical shapes & backgrounds are things that kill me on the inside when I do them 🥲 unless I was in a chill mood and really wanted to draw them
I've never felt so connected to someone's story before, I actually shed tears. I rarely comment on TH-cam but I just have to comment on this. I started liking anime the similar way as yours and from that I naturally started to get passionate in drawing. I also have a story in my head that I really want to share through Webtoon one day. What you've achieved now is exactly what I want to achieve in the future and your story motivates me more to achieve my dream! I'm so excited about it that I use my free time when I'm not studying or doing homework to design my characters, design outfits for the characters, write the story and many more that has something to do with making the story. I’m currently in art college and I’ve been thinking a lot about my future as an artist. Many of my professors talked about lot about working in a big company like Disney, Pixar, etc, but I’ve always wanted to be more of a freelance artist/small art business owner, maybe also being a tutor/art teacher for kids. But I’ve always felt a little out of place and feel like I can never know what I really want to be. I’ve always rewatched your career struggle video whenever I feel this way because it gives me a sense of hope that I can achieve what you can someday. And watching this video, really helps me be a little more motivated to keep going for my dream, even if I don’t fully know what it is yet.
I learned from this story that sometimes you give up to achieve your dream bc we force to do something we don't really enjoy in it but eventually your dream will come true even after 15 years ✨️

I know that feeling when you look at your dreams briefly and imagine working on them with all their details, and you start creating the story, the events, and the words, but then you realize that all of this is in your mind.. In fact, it leaves a beautiful feeling, and I don’t know what it is.
I stop drawing long time ago but i now i start again because reality hits me and drawing some art is my comforting hubby but then lately i fely so down because i can't draw so well without reference. Omg I relate so much to your life because I went through the same I remember I used to love thinking about my stories my mind would go into imagination mode and whenever I wasn't thinking about my story or my characters my heart would feel empty completely I used to a lot as a kid but once I grew up I stop drawing completely because I felt like I either wasn't good enough or I was too old to be obsessed with anime and I wasted 15 years of my life without drawing and because I never developed my drawing skills I just stopped doing what I loved because I couldn't draw nor write in other words you're like alternative version of myself one that didn't have up I admire you so much pluvias you're not just an amazing artist but an amazing story teller too

Hey, Pluvias. Just wanted to say (or write) This video, your story... WAS SO RELATABLE AND MOTIVATING!! It relates to me so much as I remember since Kindergarten, where I too 'daydream' of my own personal story especially on my free time. I think it happened for probably most of my life. When I'm in bed at night, I guess you could call it 'nightdreaming'. Anyway, it helped me sleep a lot faster every time. Anyway, again for most of my life, I thought writing my stories and drawing my OC's was way out of my league. I wasn't really good at drawing. I thought it required talent and not skill. Now years later, after many practice... And even failures and procrastination, I'm beginning to see a bright light at the end of the tunnel and it's almost as if it's telling me that 'I AM capable of such leagues.' To be frank, I think that anyone is capable of such if they are really ambitious and dedicated towards it. You know, I somewhat 'need' this video today as things aren't going so well in my life. I just stumbled across this video, And I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for telling this incredible story that I guarantee will not inspire me but each and everyone of us to not give up on our dreams. Once again, Thank You! I don't want to take anyone's time, but im lost in how to start my manga drawing journey. Such as how to draw, analogy, apps, everything basically! Im making my own fan-manga, Its an project that I want to finish at least an total of 4 chapters. Im confident in my writing styles and to give an compeling script but that's all I know how to do sadly. In my exploration of writing a script, I've discovered an sense of realization that when I dwelve into the stories of each character its very unraveling to see the very fabric of each of their narrative perspective. It's an very immersive journey into the depths of their emotions and values, where every character becomes like a pivotal architect, very crucial to sculpting the story with their unique essence, as well as contributing to the tapestry of the script's emotional tensions. I used too many big words didn't I... Im not really certain for the time being how I'll draw and do everything else beside the script. Literally, your story is very similar to mine because I want to become a painter and work on my story, but my family does not allow that, demanding that I enter medical university even though I am young, “15.” Even though I am competent, I am really like to art, drawing, and creativity. I really don’t know what to do. Adults say, “Choose what you can do with a better salary, even if you hate it,” but they forget that life is once in a lifetime.
I'm very sorry you are going through that.. peer pressure is hard indeed Following a path of art and creativity is so rewarding but at the same time it can be a rocky path. So I'd definitely say choose a path that's a "backup plan" instead of jumping straight to a dream-following journey. Hold on to your passion and keep practicing and honing it, but learn other skills that are interesting to you so that you have multiple options to pick from when supporting yourself in the future ^^

This video is so me. I joined the US Army my junior year of high school and my comic ideas have just been pushed to the side since 2016. Only recently am I seriously drawing again.
ok that’s inspiring. The dedication to continue something you’ve stopped and doubted multiple times, that’s something. I too want to create a comic one day but that day will never come if I don’t set a due date, then let it be this year or the next. I also want to see my comic on shelf, in person, that feeling is particularly exciting.

To me it didn't feel good at all because I kept comparing myself with the professional and popular artists, but when I switched to my actual passion, I freed myself (for the most part) of the destructive comparison mentality since I'm just happy doing what I love 🥰 I'd love to share more of my experiences with such videos!

I’m a 15 year artist ( lol obviously or why else would I be watching this) I also have ocs set in a very fantastical world and I often daydream about them whenever I can I also love to character design I also really want to write or just cement my story- and I’m struggling with this, especially flesheing out the main character ( which is surprisingly as the others are more fleshed out than her ) Point is I was watching this video and it was all so inspiring! @@Pluvias I have to confess, I was not being quite honest. I really love the artstyle, yes. But what ultimately convinced me to pledge for the highest level is the fact that you are actively fulfilling your dream of sharing your characters and story in actual print with this kickstarter. I myself am planning/writing a (high) fantasy novel at the moment. I started around one and a half years ago, right after graduating high school. But I struggle a lot with self-doubt and motivation. I want to do it, I want to share my novel with the world. But at the same time I sometimes fear that it's an insurmountable task I've set myself that will never amount to anything. Also, when you said that you struggled on what medium to use for your story, I really felt that. Though I decided to make it a novel eventually, I do want to draw my characters anime-style to better visualize them. But I am too much of a perfectionist, and get frustrated because my current skill is not good enough for my standards. I struggle with drawing dynamic poses, hands, expressions and hair-styles and I do not have the motivation to practice. Partially, I think that is because I feel that I have not found my own unique style yet. Anyway, watching this video where you describe how you managed to make your ideas a reality in the end, despite your struggles, inspired me to keep going as well. And that's why I want to support you. In the hopes that one day I'll be the one to make her dreams come true.

This video really helped me start working on my own comic, I’ve been scheming and thinking of it for years and always felt terrified to do it, but now I have started the first page and I’m so excited to keep going. Thank you so much
Ahh... I can relate so much to this. My sister and I are working on a comic right now. And it's been almost 12 years. (15 years ago, we made our plushy games into a full on story then ended up making a story out of it about 12 years ago). We plan so much for it, and it makes me excited every time I think about it! It would have started 2 years ago, but we found issues of the plot, so we had to fix that. I'm so happy that I found this video! Someone who can relate and around the same time of years of making a childhood story. the only difference it that we've been working on it ever since my sister took creative writing 9 years ago, so she made a lot of novels. 6, to be exact 😂 and she rewrote all those like 3 time. Total of 17 books including the rewrites. An that was in the beginning of those 9 years. We kept rewriting the plot several times, then I drew like 4 different comics that only got up to 2 pages at most, with a finished outline. Now we developed it so much and are in the prosses of rewriting the plot one final time and get the comic posted. Moral of this, we rewrote our story like 26 times. You really made my day ☺ And you really motivate me to go further!! 💓 Phew. This is too long 😅 Sorry lol. That was probably hard to read ;w;

That's very relatable! I once had three notebooks filled with lots of chapters which I unfortunately lost. Also, I gotta say, that writing style really irritates me to no end at one point in my life cuz it ruins the immersion immensely xD.
Wow, our situation is so similar. I've always wanted to create a comic for my story. But my skills is never enough to make it happen. Im also an artist, who actually participate in contest of manga, but even if i draw a lot, i cant come to terms with my flaws and draw these stories that i have already writen. i dont want to die without publish them. Then why i cant break that wall if i consider im good enough? 😭
I wasn't a 90s kid but I got into anime in 2013 and I watched 90s anime and based my style off the old stuff, the problem is I had no resources to really get better. I totally feel u when u said u had a new story that connected with you on a different level I have a story I wanna tell as well. I suck rn but its my dream to get this manga out. The story just resonates so deeply with me.

I only wish I had had more time to think about my story and develop my skills from an early age. I got into anime when I was 15, and after 5 years of consuming so many different shows and video games I was inspired to create my own story at the end of 2020. The past 3&1/2 years have been a hectic race to develop my characters, plot, AND art skills (on top of life). As an amateur artist and still new to digital art, there are many days where I feel unmotivated to touch my story because I'm afraid. I constantly come back to your channel and Entwined to inspire me. It's because of all the help and proof you've provided me that helps me muster up the courage to shove my doubts aside and focus on doing anything I can to move forward. lol what i noticed is that we 90s kids who got into anime and than drawing somehow have the same art style very early on XDD its so interesting, we 90s gen are something special XDDDDD, lol i did the same in classes and tests. it was so annoying that we werent allowed to submit the test and leave XD
I am dreaming to become a comic artist to but I feel like I need to get out from this because its getting on my studies and I can't seem to focus on it. But I do wish that one day I will able to upload my own story in webtoon even though I indeed have upload some comic that I didn't complete yet but one day I hope that I'll able be free and be a comic artist one day!
i alredy know anime from my dad my first anime is naruto, dragon ball, and doraemon and my dad is an visual grafic to i start learning to draw when i was in elementary school oneday i found a game called gacha club i start making characters and give them backstory and i started writing story for myself and becouse i was bored i upload it to public tought it will not that popular and i was wrong, a lot of peaple likes it and want me to make more

I guess it depends on our definition of 'details'? To me, drawing detailed hair & eyes are natural because I enjoy them so much. But details like complex fashion, accessories, frills, ornaments, geometrical shapes & backgrounds are things that kill me on the inside when I do them 🥲 unless I was in a chill mood and really wanted to draw them
I've never felt so connected to someone's story before, I actually shed tears. I rarely comment on TH-cam but I just have to comment on this.
I started liking anime the similar way as yours and from that I naturally started to get passionate in drawing. I also have a story in my head that I really want to share through Webtoon one day. What you've achieved now is exactly what I want to achieve in the future and your story motivates me more to achieve my dream! I'm so excited about it that I use my free time when I'm not studying or doing homework to design my characters, design outfits for the characters, write the story and many more that has something to do with making the story. Wish me luck with my study so I can go to university and achieve my dream! I can't wait to cry from happiness when that happens.

This encouraged me. I also have many stories. There is nothing wrong with my drawing, but my problem is that I do not know which story to start with. All the stories that my mind loves and have a place that make me more confused than I have ever been confused about them in my life.

I’m currently in art college and I’ve been thinking a lot about my future as an artist. Many of my professors talked about lot about working in a big company like Disney, Pixar, etc, but I’ve always wanted to be more of a freelance artist/small art business owner, maybe also being a tutor/art teacher for kids. But I’ve always felt a little out of place and feel like I can never know what I really want to be.
I’ve always rewatched your career struggle video whenever I feel this way because it gives me a sense of hope that I can achieve what you can someday. And watching this video, really helps me be a little more motivated to keep going for my dream, even if I don’t fully know what it is yet.
I learned from this story that sometimes you give up to achieve your dream bc we force to do something we don't really enjoy in it but eventually your dream will come true even after 15 years ✨️

I know that feeling when you look at your dreams briefly and imagine working on them with all their details, and you start creating the story, the events, and the words, but then you realize that all of this is in your mind.. In fact, it leaves a beautiful feeling, and I don’t know what it is.

Omg I relate so much to your life because I went through the same I remember I used to love thinking about my stories my mind would go into imagination mode and whenever I wasn't thinking about my story or my characters my heart would feel empty completely I used to a lot as a kid but once I grew up I stop drawing completely because I felt like I either wasn't good enough or I was too old to be obsessed with anime and I wasted 15 years of my life without drawing and because I never developed my drawing skills I just stopped doing what I loved because I couldn't draw nor write in other words you're like alternative version of myself one that didn't have up I admire you so much pluvias you're not just an amazing artist but an amazing story teller too

It relates to me so much as I remember since Kindergarten, where I too 'daydream' of my own personal story especially on my free time. I think it happened for probably most of my life. When I'm in bed at night, I guess you could call it 'nightdreaming'. Anyway, it helped me sleep a lot faster every time. Anyway, again for most of my life, I thought writing my stories and drawing my OC's was way out of my league. I wasn't really good at drawing. I thought it required talent and not skill. Now years later, after many practice... And even failures and procrastination, I'm beginning to see a bright light at the end of the tunnel and it's almost as if it's telling me that 'I AM capable of such leagues.' To be frank, I think that anyone is capable of such if they are really ambitious and dedicated towards it.
You know, I somewhat 'need' this video today as things aren't going so well in my life. I thought about giving up yesterday, so thank you so much for uploading this!

Im making my own fan-manga, Its an project that I want to finish at least an total of 4 chapters. Im confident in my writing styles and to give an compeling script but that's all I know how to do sadly.
In my exploration of writing a script, I've discovered an sense of realization that when I dwelve into the stories of each character its very unraveling to see the very fabric of each of their narrative perspective. It's an very immersive journey into the depths of their emotions and values, where every character becomes like a pivotal architect, very crucial to sculpting the story with their unique essence, as well as contributing to the tapestry of the script's emotional tensions.

Literally, your story is very similar to mine because I want to become a painter and work on my story, but my family does not allow that, demanding that I enter medical university even though I am young, “15.” Even though I am competent, I am really like to art, drawing, and creativity. I really don’t know what to do. Adults say, “Choose what you can do with a better salary, even if you hate it,” but they forget that life is once in a lifetime.
I'm very sorry you are going through that.. peer pressure is hard indeed
Following a path of art and creativity is so rewarding but at the same time it can be a rocky path. So I'd definitely say choose a path that's a "backup plan" instead of jumping straight to a dream-following journey. Hold on to your passion and keep practicing and honing it, but learn other skills that are interesting to you so that you have multiple options to pick from when supporting yourself in the future ^^

@@Pluvias I have to confess, I was not being quite honest. I really love the artstyle, yes. But what ultimately convinced me to pledge for the highest level is the fact that you are actively fulfilling your dream of sharing your characters and story in actual print with this kickstarter.
I myself am planning/writing a (high) fantasy novel at the moment. I started around one and a half years ago, right after graduating high school. But I struggle a lot with self-doubt and motivation. I want to do it, I want to share my novel with the world. But at the same time I sometimes fear that it's an insurmountable task I've set myself that will never amount to anything.
Also, when you said that you struggled on what medium to use for your story, I really felt that. Though I decided to make it a novel eventually, I do want to draw my characters anime-style to better visualize them. But I am too much of a perfectionist, and get frustrated because my current skill is not good enough for my standards. I struggle with drawing dynamic poses, hands, expressions and hair-styles and I do not have the motivation to practice. Partially, I think that is because I feel that I have not found my own unique style yet.
Anyway, watching this video where you describe how you managed to make your ideas a reality in the end, despite your struggles, inspired me to keep going as well. And that's why I want to support you. In the hopes that one day I'll be the one to make her dreams come true.

Ahh... I can relate so much to this. My sister and I are working on a comic right now. And it's been almost 12 years. (15 years ago, we made our plushy games into a full on story then ended up making a story out of it about 12 years ago). We plan so much for it, and it makes me excited every time I think about it! It would have started 2 years ago, but we found issues of the plot, so we had to fix that.
I'm so happy that I found this video! Someone who can relate and around the same time of years of making a childhood story. the only difference it that we've been working on it ever since my sister took creative writing 9 years ago, so she made a lot of novels. 6, to be exact 😂 and she rewrote all those like 3 time. Total of 17 books including the rewrites. An that was in the beginning of those 9 years. We kept rewriting the plot several times, then I drew like 4 different comics that only got up to 2 pages at most, with a finished outline.
Now we developed it so much and are in the prosses of rewriting the plot one final time and get the comic posted.
Moral of this, we rewrote our story like 26 times.

Wow, our situation is so similar. I've always wanted to create a comic for my story. But my skills is never enough to make it happen. I'm also too much of a perfectionist when it comes to writing, I kept changing the prologue over and over. Years passed and I started to give up on it. But seeing this video inspires me to keep going :D

Im also an artist, who actually participate in contest of manga, but even if i draw a lot, i cant come to terms with my flaws and draw these stories that i have already writen. i dont want to die without publish them. Then why i cant break that wall if i consider im good enough? 😭

I wasn't a 90s kid but I got into anime in 2013 and I watched 90s anime and based my style off the old stuff, the problem is I had no resources to really get better. I totally feel u when u said u had a new story that connected with you on a different level I have a story I wanna tell as well. I suck rn but its my dream to get this manga out. The story just resonates so deeply with me.

I only wish I had had more time to think about my story and develop my skills from an early age. I got into anime when I was 15, and after 5 years of consuming so many different shows and video games I was inspired to create my own story at the end of 2020. The past 3&1/2 years have been a hectic race to develop my characters, plot, AND art skills (on top of life). As an amateur artist and still new to digital art, there are many days where I feel unmotivated to touch my story because I'm afraid. I constantly come back to your channel and Entwined to inspire me. It's because of all the help and proof you've provided me that helps me muster up the courage to shove my doubts aside and focus on doing anything I can to move forward.
I still have a looong way to go but I'm praying I'll get there one step at a time :)

lol what i noticed is that we 90s kids who got into anime and than drawing somehow have the same art style very early on XDD its so interesting, we 90s gen are something special XDDDDD, lol i did the same in classes and tests. it was so annoying that we werent allowed to submit the test and leave XD
For real 90s art style was something else, and it was our starting point after all 😆😆
I am dreaming to become a comic artist to but I feel like I need to get out from this because its getting on my studies and I can't seem to focus on it. But I do wish that one day I will able to upload my own story in webtoon even though I indeed have upload some comic that I didn't complete yet but one day I hope that I'll able be free and be a comic artist one day!

You don't know how amazing this video is to me. Finally I can relate to someone! I feel like I have something in common to you! I am such a vivid thinker, always laboring to get the chance to escape reality and dig deep into thoughts of my story, something I am sooooo connected to. I just love my thoughts. I never felt understood when people always think my awkward because I am always---ALWAYS---thinking of my story, just like you! When watching this, I thought it too accurate, that I started to feel scared that you somehow knew about me. (;u;) I keep on sketching up action-packed scenarios in my head (or other) that it's now in an obsession, which I don't really mind. I'm always thinking my my story every day, and people keep on thinking my weird. So now that I found out about this channel today, including this video, I feel comfortable! Thank you for this video 🤍 I actually cried watching it. I've been working on my own story for 12 years now (on and off ofc) and kept telling myself that maybe it's too late to start drawing it rn. I kept blaming myself that I haven't even finished it after all this time and I'll never make it as a comic artist.
Now that I see your story, I don't feel alone anymore. I think many artists went through the same thing as some point but only those who started and stuck long enough are the ones who made it, and I'll be one of them one day.
