“The Choice 2024,” the latest edition of FRONTLINE’s critically acclaimed election-year special, is streaming now. Watch the full documentary, investigating the lives and characters of Kamala Harris and Donald Trump as they seek the presidency. th-cam.com/video/yjPxL5w3OOU/w-d-xo.html

I once saw a TH-cam video where the host explained that the stalemate & ultra partisanship we see in the Congress today really began in 1995 when Newt Gingrich became the House Speaker. Prior to 1995, we saw a lot more compromise between the parties in the Congress, especially if the President was from the opposite party as the 1 that controlled the Congress. But once Gingrich became Speaker, as he himself once admitted, his primary goal was to prevent Clinton from passing anything to hurt his chances of getting re-elected & led a bunch of (mostly non-serious) investigations into Clinton & other high ranking Democrats. Whenever the President is from 1 political party but the Congress is controlled by the other we have seen this happen with all 5 Presidents since 1995.

If your not smart enough to know that when Trump came down the escalator the thing you're supposed to say is, "Hold my beer and watch this." You basically know nothing about Trump. And I just spoke over your head. If you don't vote for Trump, we will be Communist.

From my Mexican point of view, Americans were lucky in having a very ineffective self-centered president, who was bent on exploding the best parts of the American system/institutions. Most current systems in the world also need to evolve but the destruction that Trump proposes will be a huge step back. Just look at your southern neighbour, our destroyer in chief was very effective and, today, we have almost no republic (even if a weak and young one at that). The future of democracy in the world almost hinges on your choice in this election. Economics (and population dynamics) have turned hard in favour of blue collar workers, don't fuck your republic and your democracy just when you will experience the biggest economic boom for the average American in your history. Patience will pay and give thanks that Trump is such a dumb Dude. And please remember the plight of your southern neighbours. Best of luck.

He's a very intelligent man, but unfortunately his partisanship has diluted his intelligence. Trump is indefensible. The guy literally tried to steal an election, it's on tape. He doesn't give a damn about the constitution, he's never read it, and you know why? Because he's not in it! These so-called "conservatives" claim to love the constitution and swear by it, and yet they back a man who would happily tear it up for his personal benefit. It's hypocrisy at its finest. You can love what Trump did for the economy, or what he claims he did for it, but his actions in the 2020 election and January 6th absolutely disqualify him for holding public office ever again.

Newt Gingrich is a political intellectual of considerable ability. He was the force behind much of the political evolution of the Republican Party at the start of the 21th Century, and continues to be a great asset of the GOP. Too bad, America passed up the chance to have this man, of true leadership capability, and clear articulate speech, as their President! I loved the contract with America and I love Newt! I was so filled with joy that night watching the talking heads say, holding back tears that America had a tantrum. I will never forget that night. I could never understand why that movement fizzled away. I wanted Newt to become president but the media was relentless in their hatred for him and just dragged him thru the dirt, much like they have done to Trump. The Republicans never had any backbone and I really disliked them and still do but thanks to Trump they are getting bolder. Trump didn't create us! We've always been here just waiting for someone like him.

How many politicians of either party can you name that aren't narcissistic? I'll wait. He's absolutely not a racist--accusations like that are merely projections on the part of those who are convinced that blacks are powerless without white liberals to help them...and no president in recent history has been more divisive than Obama, who had so many opportunities to unite the country and deliberately chose the low road of dismissing half the country as unintelligent neanderthals every single time. Obama, and his insufferable smug superiority and contempt for average Americans absolutely begat Trump.
