    Although your video was done 6 years ago, I am currently in the same stage with just embarking on stamping despite being a long-time crafter. Also live in Canada so same conetnd re: costs for various stamping platforms. Definitely going to try making myself one of these! Thinking I might try to add a magnetic layer providing I can use with thin enough magnets to hold my paper in place, or might just use quality removable tape. Thanks for sharing your clever idea!

    • @ILoveDoingAllthingscrafty
      @ILoveDoingAllthingscrafty  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yay! Definitely a great place to start. I have since got the Misti actually a few of them, but I did use this DIY version of it for a while. A magnet might not let you close the lid unless it is super thin. I used washi tape all the time. Have fun and welcome to the stamping rabbit hole!

    I know it’s been years, but I want to thank you! I was really struggling with the idea of spending so much on a stamp positioner. Thanks you, some card stock, grid paper, and a cd case, I now have a tool that works perfectly! Sending a big hug your way!

      That is awesome! We all start somewhere, and I was right where you were at the time I made this video. Have fun and I hope it will help you get that perfect image!

      Thank you! Btw, it works perfectly! I didn’t make it magnetic, but I use washi tale to secure the paper. Very happy!

    Brilliant! And this demonstration folks is what crafting is all about. Yes, this is crafting in it's truest form. If we need something that will help us out, but we don't have one, we figure out a way of "crafting" one. Congratulations for coming up with a perfect design. You, ma'mam, personify what crafting is all about and you should feel very proud. Thank you!

    Great video. I learned a long time ago. Your stamps can cling to a lot of things. I wished I knew then what I know now before I purchased so many blocks. I glad I did not buy the misti. It was just too expensive. I could not justify the cost after all the tools I have invested in to stamp with so far. I will give this a try. Tfs Sheshe

    THANK YOU! I just made one and you made my day, cause when I use my stamps they never come clean/crisp (and stamping twice you get an unwanted shadow) and with this I was able to make crisp impressions. I would love to own a Misti, but right now the $$ is low, so until I save for one this will do. Again, thank you!

    Great invention BRAVO. Tim Holtz stamping positioning case is EXPENSIVE. At my age of 70 I dont need to waste money. Yours is EXACTLY what i required. 😄👍 Easy and fun to make ⛈⛈ and I will do it now as there's a severe thunder storm in Paris FRANCE and cannot go to the garden. ☔⚡ Thanks for sharing and caring. 👍👍👍

    I have watched many videos on how to make a misti. I have found that yours is the one I am going to use. I think that you have done a great job in explaining all aspects of the process. I am glad that it will work on an A2 size card, I was wondering about that all through the video until the end. Then only thing that I think that I will do differently is to use a DVD case. I think that it will give me more room. I luv,luv,luv, the page protector idea. I think that is just brilliant!!!! This is my project for the up coming week. Thanks so much for sharing.

    I also made one after seeing a video using instead a clear dvd case to create it. Since I don't have access to those large cases I used a CD case too. Note that it would be better to keep the foam removable or not permanently attached since cling stamps already have foam on them and that would compensate the foam sheets you use for clear stamps. Love seeing a new video on this, I'm all for DIY tools myself so way to go! TFS

      Since it's so easy to find CD cases, I just made two of them -- one with 2 foam inserts and the other one with just 1 foam insert, so I wouldn't have to keep changing around that one optional layer depending on whether my stamps were clear or cling. Voila-- just pick which tool for which stamp...
      This is an awesome version among the available DIY positioner tools out there, and I have already made several for my friends! Thanks so much for sharing this idea!

    If you store clear stamps on cd cases, they lose their cling. I'm not sure how good it is to use them on it.

    • @ILoveDoingAllthingscrafty
      @ILoveDoingAllthingscrafty  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is just like using an acrylic block June. It is very temporary so the stamps don't dry out and loose there cling. Once you are done using them you wipe them clean and store them in their packaging. I haven't had any problems. Hope that helps!

      Ok, I'm glad you explained that because I really like this idea. It will be great to carry it around when I meet friends. I like the size. I like the idea of stamping the same image twice because so many times I don't get a good impression the first time. Thanks for showing this.

    Loved the way you made a stamping tool in minutes, but your filming really needs a lot of improvement.

      Lol! Thanks this was one of my first videos. I have learned a lot since then. Not easy when you are starting out 😉
