Just made one of these boards with a few dollars' worth of supplies from my local Dollar Tree and it works GREAT! They even had some cute clear stamps and a bunch of crafting supplies I was looking for. Thank you Martha for saving me a lot of money!!! 🥰
I love how you used your soldier gun to cut through that plastic, brilliant! You are like me, if you just don’t see spending $59.00 for stamping,… make your own! Love it ❤️❤️❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💡💡💡
I love the way you came up with the stamping tool. Every time I have tried to order the others they cost too much and they are always temporarily out of stock. Now thanks to you I can make my own. Thank you so much.
Hi Martha what a genius idea! I just made one and so chuffed. Misti is too expensive. I also thought of an idea to glue thing magnetic sheet on the back of the clipboard and that way you could use teeny tiny magnets to hold your card stock. Anyways great stuff!!!
Removing a plexiglas piece from a frame would work, too. Or you can get a very inexpensive tool, possibly in the hardware section of a dollar store, to cut the plexi if needed. Sandpaper or an emery board is great for smoothing the edges and rounding the corners so they aren't as sharp, too. This is a neat project and I like the size. Thanks for sharing this.
Easiest and most thrifty version I've seen and so easy to understand! Love that duct tape. Thank you. For those that don't have a hot knife or can't borrow one from a fellow crafter See if you have a tool rental store in your town. Use a Dremel tool Use a sawsall. Use a power saw or ask a tool handy guy friend to cut it with any of the above. Or Be creative and use a piece of acrylic from a thrift store photo frame or one you already own -no cutting necessary. I'm going to print a grid and laminate it to add to the clipboard of mine to help me position words and letters straight! Esp helpful for stamping multiples. Or print a grid for the top of the acrylic...So many possibilities. Thank you for sharing I am very legally blind so crafting is extremely challenging I had given it up, but you've made it possible again and I think even I can make and afford one of these! New subscriber!
You are a genius. I knew there had to be a cheaper way. Think when I do my I’ll use a magnetic vent cover so maybe it can use magnets to hold cards in place. Thank you for sharing your wonderful idea
Great idea! I watched a similar video yesterday but the lady used a piece of hard plastic. I decided to try and make one but I didn't have a piece of plastic so I used a laminate pouch....I just put the empty pouch thru the laminator and used the duct tape and viola! Works like a charm!! Thanks for sharing. Kathy
I'd just buy an acrylic Quilters Ruler in whichever size (ex 6.5 in square) I'd want, rather than needing a heat tool. Or look in the hardware store for Plexiglas.
I have managed to use the rubber stamps with it. To make sure that it clings well, unless it is a cling stamp that is already tacky, I use a little bit of a stick glue that will wipe off.
It may be possible, but I don't know if there would be enough space for a thicker stamp, such as a rubber cling stamp. The flatter clear cling stamps would possibly work.
I can speak from experience as I have the Cuttlebug All-In-One folder...YES, it actually DOES work with red rubber/cling stamps AND the clear photopolymer stamps.
OK, I congratulate your ingenuity, however, there is no way this is ever going to last and not loosen and eventually fall apart. It is good to maybe use for a couple weeks at best.
I'm confused. Is this only for those who have that special heat tool that you have? Looks like it worked well but is misleading unless you already have the heat tool.
You don't have to have the heated cutting tool. It does work well, and it was what I had at the time. A heavy duty utility blade will cut through the acrylic frame. An Xacto blade would work, but I don't recommend it, because the blade can become dislodged. But a utility knife will work. You will need to make several passes over the same cut. Use a straight edge for a guide and firm pressure, but not so much pressure as to crack the acrylic. I would have used a utility knife/blade for mine, but my son could not remember what he did with it, and claimed his brother took it when he came to visit. (Tools always end up in the hands of one of them and then disappear. That's the problem/joy with having sons.)
mika66 You can use a utility knife to cut the acrylic. It'll just take a few passes. I just happen to have the tool from woodworking. Or even a rotary tool.
mika66 I wouldn’t say the title is misleading at all. The nice lady showed us how to make the apparatus. I don’t have that heat tool either, and don’t think i have reason to buy one. In another comment she tells us how to cut the plastic with a utility knife. Good luck if you make one and I hope it works well for you😊

I know! I can't believe how much the local Dollar Tree has grown its crafting section. I even purchased one of their tumbler turners to test out soon.
I have been watching several videos making these. I love this one the best because of the clip on the board. Thank you so much for this idea!!!!

The extra piece you cut off you could cut into two or three pieces and use as stamping blocks

wonderful creation

What? I am blown away by this! Been wondering about getting one of these contraptions and happened upon your brilliant idea! Thank you!!!
Genius. Thank you so much!
Awesome idea, dollar tree is where my next 3 dollars are going ...it better than spending 35 or 40, thank you for sharing :)
I LOVED this so much Thank You
Your wonderful ❤🎉❤
You are a genius. I knew there had to be a cheaper way. Think when I do my I’ll use a magnetic vent cover so maybe it can use magnets to hold cards in place. Thank you for sharing your wonderful idea
I was thinking wow it’s cutting through it like butter and then you said it, made me laugh and got my morning started right. Thanks!
This is so awesome. I made mine tonight. I started making my first real card. Thank you for sharing this idea.
Thank you
I tried regular glass frame
Didn't go well lol!
It broke glass when pushing down.
I didn't even think of the plexiglass photo frames.
Ms. Martha, you are an engineering genius. Thank you😁
Try gluing flat magnet sheet
Lady, YOU'RE A GENIUS! I'm definitely trying this idea! Thanks for this, truly!
Thank you so much!!! I could not bring myself to spend that much money for a misti

Never thought of using a laminate pouch. I didn't know if it would be stiff enough.
@@marthathurston1217 I just used one pouch... I may try one and a half to make it even stiffer
GENIUS! I would never have thought of that! What a great way to make a couple of small ones! I want your hot knife!
Great idea.
Only 3 that's awesome. And you could personalise it. Would a wood burning tool work to cut the acrylic?
Thank you I am a newbie so I am trying to build my supplies so thank you this will work till I can afford a stamp positioner.
Lisa Roberts I completely understand.
great job and great idea! thanks!
How can you get the frame without the versatool?
Wow wish I would have seen this b4 I bought my misty very nice
Thank you so much for sharing. I can't wait to try this!
Wow! Good job. I really didn't want to pay for a misty or the other one.
Genius!!!!!!
I love it
You could also buy the metal clip board and use magnets to hold down the card stock.
I'd just buy an acrylic Quilters Ruler in whichever size (ex 6.5 in square) I'd want, rather than needing a heat tool. Or look in the hardware store for Plexiglas.
Thank you so much for this tutorial!
very smart, thank you.
Brilliant idea, I can't wait to see all your other frugal ideas. I can't wait to make one!!!
Thank you so much. As I find ways, I will add them.

What a great tutorial and I am going to make one.I'm also subscribed...thank you...
Love it...thank you
Thank you this is very helpful!!

Awesome!!! Thank you 😊👍 Maddy NY 😎
can a Cuttlebug all in one be used as a Misti?

Smart, brilliant !!!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Look for a video coming up soon with a tutorial using this homemade tool!
Clever!
Fantastic!

Genious!
Need a tool that heats up to 950 degrees...not something we all have in our craft stash.
The versa tool is at least $18! :( Thanks for the video but your title is misleading.
