All of these products are my personal crafting supplies and the idea is my own creation unless otherwise stated. I am on two design teams and only promote their products because I use them in everyday crafting. I was not asked to feature any of these products for this video. I am affiliated with Simon Says Stamp and receive a small commission when you shop through the links.
Excellent demonstration of the versatility of the MISTI; if I didn't already own one, this video would have definitely sold me.
Love that mirror image stamp. Thanks for the video. I was able to come away with some new tips.
You're welcome, glad it helped!
+Justine Hovey thnk you!. i LOVE U!
Excellent demonstration of ways to use the misti. I loved that it was quick and not dragged out making a 10+ min video. Thanks!!
Great tips! I've had my MISTI for over a year now and couldn't go back to life without it! It is the best $$ I've ever spent on crafting supplies. Another tip - it's akin to the gradient tip you gave; you can make sentiments have a rainbow look with the MISTI. You just ink the first few letters red and then leave the rest of the stamp un-inked, stamp it and then ink the next few letters orange and so forth. Since the MISTI gets it exactly in the right spot, you can do this really cool effect very easily. I love it for kid cards I make!
Thank you Justine. I purchased the mini MISTI and your video demonstrated different and new ways to use it. Because I now know more ways to use it, it makes the purchase price even more justifiable.
True! and I'm sure there are many more ways to discover!
So many great tips and ideas for using the MISTI! There seems to be NO end to them, which of course is FANTASTIC!
Thanks for all the great tips and hints! I especially love the way you made a mirror image using the Misti! I have a mirror image stamp but never use it because I can't get a good image. Don't have a Misti, but looks like I need to get one now!
I enjoyed your Misti series immensely you totally gave outstanding tutorials and included all of your many Terrific Tips, Tricks & Techniques.
Thanks so much for doing this!! YOU SO ROCK!!
thank you for taking the time to show different ways to use the Misti. have a blessed day:)
Awesome series, Justine! I don't have a MISTI yet, but I hope to get one! I see lots of techniques I would use it for! LOVE how you used it with the die cut and stamp! Awesome!
Love your video! No extra chit chat, perfectly clear instructions. Thank you so much!
I just got my MISTI and can't wait to try some of your ideas. Stamping on a die cut has always been a nemesis of mine - I think I'll be having a much better time of it in the future.
This video is great! So many crafters like myself, have hundreds of mounted stamps we love and want to use. You show how that can be accomplished
Thank you for a great round up of so many uses for the MISTI - I really like the pace and editing of your video too! Great video I"m sure I'll reference regularly!
Thanks Justine! I'm so happy that you demonstrated your way of stamping diecuts with coordinating stamps. That's SO much better than what I've been doing and makes perfect sense. I'm having a "silly me" moment for not having thought of that myself. Thank you!!
I still prefer to stamp, then die cut personally than do it this way with the MISTI but I like this as a Plan B option
That's my preferred method too - but I've been using my Silhouette to create the die cuts in order to save money. It's a lot cheaper, but not as handy as having the dies themselves.
I purchased my Misti a few months ago and I'm learning new things every day. Loved the video, very helpful. On the step where you did the reverse image, what is the material you used and where can you purchase it?
Great informative video. So helpful to see all the potential uses in one spot. Thanks!
Hi Justine thank you so so much I have just received your answer about the stamping plate the Misti it was so very kind of you to answer my question I really really did appreciate you replying back to me thank you so much ☺️ .....I am going to take your very good advice on the size to buy so I am going to start to do my research and find out where in the UK I can buy one thank you so much once again for all your help and consideration in replying back to me Lin in South Wales uk xx
Wow wow wow! Thank you for sharing your ideas!
Thank you for the great explanation on different stamping with the Misti! Great & quick information. I really appreciate this video.
Great tips. I especially like the one for die cuts. TFS.
Thank you for sharing. I have my Misti on order with other goodies and I am anxious to play with it. I have RA, so this will be a wonderful tool for me, as the hands do not cooperate as they did 30 years ago! Now I have many ideas on how to use it when it arrives. I subscribed, liked this so well. Thanks again.
VERY good and VERY informative for us newbie users. thank you soooooooo much.
This was very helpful ! I got a Misti for Christmas but also got the Hampton Art stamping tool.
Exciting!
I just got a die cut machine, so tip # 4 is super helpful! I don’t have a misty tool yet, but this pretty much sold me on it
THANKS your advice should have some with my brand new Misti now I can play with it knowing just what to do!
I enjoyed this video and found many great ideas. The one thing I wish you would have done is allow the viewer to see the printed stamped product a little longer. The video seemed to be in warp speed. I checked that maybe I had my setting in a faster speed but no. This is something new for me so I guess I wanted more time to really see what you were doing and then looking at the result. Thanks!
Great little series.
Dawn from the UK
Love my misti-and I've been thinking of using the actual front cover for mirror stamping. Have you tried that yet?
Another great video, Justine! Thank you so much for sharing it with us!
Great review of what you can all do with the Misti. I will refer to it often :)
thanks for sharing. i like to know the whole tips for misti than looking around for it in various places. due to this video, you got a new subbie.
I'm a new subbie and just got a misti for my birthday thanks for the wonderful tips I'm going to have a blast with all your ideas
Have fun and happy birthday!
Great tips and reminders for using the MISTI to its full potential! TFS!
Thanks bunches for the Misti video! I am looking forward to getting it one day!
Great video! I would love to have a Misti. Tfs Justine
Hi Justine just found ur very useful tutorial u posted on u tube on 1st June 2016 I am pleased to have discovered this tutorial as u gave a lot of good advice and tips on how to use the stamping press (I apologise if that is not the correct name for it) I am considering buying one but a bit flummoxed at the moment as to what makes to get PLEASE can u tell me the size of the stamping part thank u x Lin in South Wales uk
The mini Misti stamping area is 6 x 4.75 and the Original Misti is 6.5 x 8.5. I definitely recommend the Original size for your first purchase as it will be big enough for all cards.
really helpful tutorial! thank you!
I love this, what some great alternatives it gives.this has gone onto my I want list.thanks for sharing xx
thanks for sharing this video. I laughed so hard when you did your big background stamp and the noise from you inking up the stamp in fast speed was awesome.
lol I guess I forgot to mute that
this is my favorite MISTI video so far!
Thanks for all of the techniques using the MISTI.
Thank you for sharing the use of the Misti...now I feel confident to buy one and use it...thanks again :)
Great demonstration!! I really feel I need the MISTI 😊
EXcellent ideas!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Thank you for sharing your videos
Great explanations on the Misti! Thank you!
Excellent. I bought my Misti but didn't think of a few of these. Thanks for the tips!! Can I ask, what do you think of the Altenew ink?
I really like them. I have the mini inks only but they are really juicy. Sometimes when I am layering stamping and the first layer is really solid, it doesn't stamps so clear, but it doesn't matter since you stamp a few more layers over top. Overall though I think they are my favourite dye inks so far
Awesome, I love the colors and that they are designed for layered Stamping but I heard about the solid Stamping issue, but you're right with my Misti I can just reink it. Thanks for the info!!
I am a Newbie to the MISTIE: Is it possible to use magnetic backed stamps in the MISTI? The ones I have lots of are Rubadubadoo.
Love your video this is the best one I have seen. Love to find how I can use items in more than one way.
great video. thanks for sharing
Great tips. I have a question though. What is the "Mirror image Tool"?
Hi Ann! The mirror image is pretty much a piece of rubber that can reverse your stamp image, so if you have a critter stamp but you want it to face the other way, you can.
Thank you, that's what I thought it was. Great tip!
I love the Misti! I got it, about a month ago. I have a problem and was wondering if you can give me some advice. I have A WHOLE BUNCH of rubber stamps I am taking off of the wood. I was trying to use Tack it over and over again on kids foam that I adhered to the rubber stamp. I liked it because I stamped the image on the foam and I adhered it perfectly to match the other side. Well.... The Tack it over and over is so strong it is leaving pieces of the foam and my image on the plastic mount. Kinda a pain in the bumm. So I was reading about Tack n Peel and thought that was a great idea and no foam used!!! But as I was about to order it...... I realized this would not work on my Misti. I love my Misti, and plan on getting the corners also. Do you have any suggestions? I am getting back into stamping and am enjoying adding to my supplies but have SOOOO many stamps and $$$ involved that it would be smart to use them again. I really love the idea of clear stamps. Hopefully you have an idea. Please help. Thank you
Unfortunately I have very few wooden block stamps and I use them for decoration mainly these days. I don't have any tips on removal but I know there are TH-cam videos out there that might be able to help you!
Excellent tutorial!! Thank you for sharing them with us. Prayerful hugs
I just received my Misti thank you for this video, it really will help me using it.
Have fun playing!
I have to get one of these, I have put it off due to cost, but I want it now. tyfs
More great ideas, Justine! TFS
Thanks for the great video, lots of great info. I'm considering purchasing the 12x12 Misti. I like the idea of a larger work space because I like to stamp backgrounds to coordinate with my cards. Thoughts?
The regular MISTI is fine if you're using background stamps but if you are also into scrapbooking then I would recommend the 12x12 (Memory) Misti
I ❤️ the ombré technique! I've got to purchase this tool! FYI, I'm your Newest Subscriber! 🙌🏾 TFS
At the end of the video you say you are not lining them up because it makes for a harsh line (in Gradient Stamping) What exactly do you mean by this? I think I know, but want to be sure! Manythanks aANETE
Should have signed off,. "Many thanks, Annette" Sorry!
I find if you stamp the ink colours in straight lines across the stamp - light, medium and dark and don't overlap well, you get harsh lines
Why, thank you!
Great ideas! Thanks!
Great tutorial! Thank you for creating and sharing:-)
very very cool Justine!! *love*
Great tips!! Tfs!!👍🏾💕
Very informative!! Thanks!
Thanks.
Great ideas
Question...when you stamped the mirrored image, what did you stamp the first image onto to get a clear mirrored image?
I'm not sure I understand, I used the Mirror Image Stamp and I stamped using the Misti tool
Look up Mirror Image Stamp and you will see that it is a blank stamp. I found some at Amazon. I think that is what she stamped the first image on in the mirror image stamping process she was demonstrating. Lots of great techniques to try. I don't have a MISTI. I made a tool with a CD case. I'm going to try these techniques on my homemade stamping tool.
Great video!! I love watching creative people. By the way, I just finished a homemade shoe stamp. Maybe you could swing by my way sometime. Good luck!!
Love your videos!
Hi Justine,
Could you tell me what you used to stamp on to get the mirror image please?
Bejay x
Do you mean the tool? That's the MISTI. Or do you mean the stamp to do the technique? That's the Mirror image stamp from So Suzy - link in the video description
Hi Justine, I meant the stamp for the technique. I've got the MISTI and want to find different ways to play with it. That will teach me to read all your links before asking questions won't it lol x
Mirror stamping what a gr8 idea luv ; )
Very nice video, I will refer back to it!
Justine I live in Canada and wanted to know how much you sell the Misti for?
I don’t personally sell the Misti. I don’t think there is a retailer in Canada. I ordered mine in the States and had it shipped here since I’m also Canadian.
where did you buy it from?
Thank you!
Where do you buy layer straps
Many companies have them. The Ton and Altenew carry many different ones.
I finally got my mini misty! But I am new to stamping, I stamped onto the lid (as opposed to the paper), and now its permanently stained. Can I clean it with bleach?? I'm sad :(
What kind of ink did you use? The Misti has a specific cleaner Novus plastic cleaner, you can get it on Amazon. But what kind of ink would permanently stain like that? I'm curious? Try hand sanitizer or stamp cleaner
Thanks for taking the time to respond! I'm at work, but later I'll let you know the ink I used. In the interim I'll look for the cleanser on Amazon.
Just ordered a kit that brings Novus #'s 1, 2 and 3.
The name of the ink is "StazOn" and the color is Jet Black. I was looking for a crisp, sharp black ink. If this is not great, would you recommend another?
I received the Novus, pack of 3. The #1 didn't do anything, but the #2 removed the stain. I'm SO happy that the Misti is new again. Suggestion on better black ink brands would be great.
Thank you ...This really helps me remember what to do with my misti
How do I use the memory Misti with wood mounted stamps
You cannot use a Misti with wood stamps unfortunately
Really love the misti it`s really on my wish list.
You won't be sorry! I love mine! It saves a lot of paper too!
I love all of these tips. They are so helpful! Thanks for sharing Justine!
thanks! i didnt figure out 10 yet, I mostly use it for textured paper
Thanks do much
It's a great tuto !
I want a MISTI one day. Next month, next year? Whenever I set aside the funds for one. Until then, I enjoy seeing the different ways to use one. Thanks for this video. :)
Good luck! I love it and I'm sure you will too!
That was Awesome! Thank you so much! :)
You showed me things I didn't of doing with the misti. Thank you.
cool. ty
Oh yes that's on my wish list
Would have loved it more slowed down.. had to rewind twice to see finished images.
TFS, Annette
👏👏👏👏👏👏👍🏻
Hmmmm Why didn't my Misti come with the black pad?
Did you throw it out by accident thinking it was part of the packaging? Every MISTI has the black pad...
No, it only came with a pack of paper. I'm sure. I guess I could try a mouse pad?
Thank you for doing this tips video. I just purchased a Misti. I have yet to receive it and I searched for tip videos. Your Tip video is the best! Check out #CommentKindnessCampaign
Thank you!
I really don't want to sound negative here but seriously how many MISTI demos do i need to reinforce that I can't afford one in my budget right now??? Ive seen every TH-cam of every subscription till Im just done. Clean crisp images, bold beautiful images, blah blah blah. Please stop upselling the MISTI. I get it. I won't get it and that's OK
+JStudios0429 Actually I'm not sponsored at all by MISTI I just love the product. I filmed my series and So Suzy (not the creator or company that produces it) agreed to sponsor a giveaway for the series to give a lucky person who maybe can't afford one the chance to win.
+Jerzey58girl I'm sorry you feel this way. Just remember you don't need to watch Misti videos - 90% of my other videos don't feature the Misti because I don't want my audience to feel they can't make beautiful things if they don't have one. That was the last video of the series and although it will pop into a video now and again you won't have to deal with it much. I'm sponsoring a giveaway so one lucky person can win one and I really hope it is a person in a similar situation as yourself who maybe can't afford it at the moment. Just think, maybe one day you will be able to and you'll have lots of great resources to fall back on.
You are such a sweet person, Justine! I like your response much better than mine (which I did not post)
I hope everyone appreciates that you are going out of your way to provide these video tutorials for us! It's not just time consuming, you are also using paper, ink, etc. that you might not otherwise be using JUST to share a technique with us...Thank you so, very much...you are a gem!!!
It took me a long time to finally buy one of these. I resisted, told myself it was too expensive, got fed up of hearing about it, much like yourself. I now have one and although I don't think it's the best thing since sliced bread, I find it can't do some things I could do with acrylic blocks, and it can be a pain to clean some of the stamps on it, it is a useful tool. There are numerous videos on how to make similar stamping tools using DVD cases, which you could try if you do think you'd like one. I used a Letterpress until I cracked it and realised I liked the ability the stamp positioning gave me. Justine has given me some new ideas on how to use it, for which I thank her. No need to shoot the messenger :)
You're right. I'm sorry to whoever was offended by my post
speaking too fast, sounds like you were in a hurry...
You're tutorial is too fast!! 👎👎
this is a really old video that is on my list to recreate
Great video. Thank you.
