its now 2021!!! So much has happened since you posted this way back in 2015!! Anyhoo, I have seen so many of these DIY stampers and YOURS is the very BEST!!!!! Ingenious!! The clip board is the BEST, IMHO.
This is a superb video! Concise, easy to follow instructions, simple readily available materials and great results. Thank you for taking the time to post, I wish you well in art and in life.
I have watched about a half dozen of videos on how to make your own stamp positioning "thing" and by far yours is the most economical and easiest! Thanks for sharing
This is genius!! I think it's funny that there have been so many different versions of a DIY stamper and something this simple was right there all the while!! Thank you for bringing it to light!!! Impressive!! I like the clipboard one the best.
Hi, Barbara! This is a great idea! I don't have an extra $100+ to throw at an expensive stamping tool that everyone seems to be raving about, lately, so, I will definitely give this a try, and maybe, tweak it a little bit, too. But because you are kind enough to share this, I will also purchase one from your website to show my support as a co-stamper/crafter. :) Thank you!!!!!
Seeing as how you sell your version, the Stamperor, it's very generous of you to share DIY versions. We crafters can't always afford to buy the tools we want when we want them. Thank you very much!
I totally understand wanting a tool that's not in the budget. Making a DIY of another stamp tool is what led me to create the StampeRor that I sell, so I wanted to share a DIY version as well.
Thank you again! I made one! I am so happy with it! I never would have thought of it. I had a clear clipboard (brand new) that I have never used, and a piece of plexi-glass. Thank you again, bec I would never be buying a Misti even though I've really wanted one. With the CLEAR clipboard, I can see my grid perfectly on my mat! THANKS AGAIN!
Barbara, thank you so much; you're a genius. I've already made two. Found clip boards at the second hand store and lid material at the dollar store ( flexible cutting board - package of two for $1.00) on one clipboard I drew grid lines using a ruler and magic marker. on the other board I stuck a piece of grid paper in a page protector and used colorful duct tape to adhere it to the board. I also used colorful duct tape as the hinge material. I am one happy camper!!! I make cards with my daughter and granddaughter so we all will have one to use. Thank you, thank you.
An absolute stroke of genius Barbara!!! Thank you so much for sharing this very simple but highly effective technique. Now of course no clipboard will be safe ....
So you sell and you share!!! You have got to be someone special😊😊 I have viewed so many diy positioners and yours is absolutely the best. I have already made two of the clipboard versions, one large and one small and they both work perfectly!!!! No glue no frame no screws or hinges.....can it get any easier? I just can't understand why your "views" are not in the 1000's. Thank you so much😉😉
I love your no non-sense view and approach to this. I know you posted this a LONG time ago, but the advice is still great. Easy to store, and not so expensive that if it got broken so would your heart. thanks
I knew there had to be an easy way to diy a stamping tool and you popped up! You're a genius and thanks for posting the directions. When in need, turn to a crafter!
So simple, who'da thunk it? I am surprised that the thicker stamps work well too, I would have thought their thickness would have caused some distortion in the stamping. I made my own stamping tool, but yours is the simplest and easiest one I've seen. TFS!
That's what I was wondering, if the thicker stamps would work too. Glad to hear they will! This is the best and most affordable idea ever! Going to get my supplies for this today! TFS!
Way to go! Thank you!!!! Yours is the best one I've seen/viewed so far. You aren't using any metal hinges of any kind. I actually have some wide blue painter's tape and two clip boards. One long and the other medium in length. The heavy duty plastic to fit the size of each I might just find in an Office Depot, JoAnn's, or maybe a Michael's. I do have (Darice) one that had three large size die cuts. I'm glad I hadn't emptied the trash just yet. 👍🏽🌹😉
Here I am years later than your post watching this. I don't do much stamping so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I made one from a small cd case but i wanted a bigger one for bigger cards. Here it is......Amazing!!!!!!!!!🤩 happy🫡
year 2019 here, Thank you very much, your idea is better than many others in the web, Now I have my DIY stamp folder, the clipboard version, and I love it!
thank you for this video, I have a clipboard with a built in flap, I just had to go and try it. It works beautifully, I dont know why I never thought of before.
I am so excited ! After watching your video, I went to the $ shop, got some material for less than 6 $ and I now have a stamp positioning folder that is working great! Thank you so much !!!!
I like the clipboard one! Now I can stop drooling about yet another "must-have-soon" thing in my art life and get on with some stamping efficiently AND economically! Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge. May Allah bless you for your generosity.
I have Tonic Platform stamp which I love so much but I need much smaller size for smaller things to stamp. Now I found this video... OMG! I'm gonna to buy a mini clipboard at Dollar store tomorrow without a question! Amazing!
You are really clever.. I just happen to have a piece of plexi-glass that I don't need from a cuttle bug which I don't have. And I happen to have a clipboard that size! I will put some space between (maybe a 1/4 inch) with heavy cardstock to lift up the plexi-glass piece. Thanks for this idea!!!!!!!!!! Don't have money for a misti.
love the idea! I made one with the small clipboard. Works perfectly. It fits my needs without spending a lot of money on name brands. I did use a clear acrylic picture frame from the dollar store. I like the way it works. Thanks for the inspiration!!!
awesome! why didn't I see this before I bought the stamp-a-ma-jig thingy? got it 6 months ago and still intimidated. Think I'll be using your method from now :) thanks for sharing! :)
Brilliant -- as I sit waiting for a replacement for the Tonic Tim Holtz stamp platform with a warped top. Have clipboard and transparency paper. THANKS!!!

That's fantastic! I love how you added the grid lines. That will definitely help with stamp placement.
