'Born Free' class c motorhome is beautiful! Full size couch, nice neat classic design in front cabin, completely functional shower etc. This vehicle is lovely.
This camper is very nice, smart to use the toliet that way, something to think about. I would like to see his pro master when it is finished. Thank you.
The quote on his shirt is MY QUOTE!!! I saw it on the back of a RV being pulled by someone. Then the next day I saw a journal in Ross that had the same quote. Now, a few months later, I’m considering going rogue! Such an amazing confirmation that this is the next step!
Nice tour New Jersey Outdoor Adventure! I saw this guy and rig on CRVL when he was a newbie at his first RTR in 2017, wow that's great he seems to have melded into the life gracefully. I will go look to see on your videos if you did the follow-up on his new rig that was being talked about in this video you did.
Yes 🙌🏼 he was featured on Bob wells channel and not on my channel twice. I see you found the video of his rig that George did, he was also featured in another video of a tour of him and his wife’s separate RVs that travel together.
Fantastic video and talking back & forth with hitting all of the pro`s and con`s of why he made certain changes. Also liked how he explained his travel and use of the big RV along with towing the car and then his thoughts on downsizing to the class B. That thing is sweet. Hey Patrick ! You Did Good. God Bless from Tennessee
This is so helpful. I’m retired and getting my house ready to sell. I want to go to full time van life but I’ve had a hard time deciding whether to get a small motor home, a van or to tow a small trailer with my truck. I’ve watched so many videos but they are all young women and it’s good to see someone my age is comfortable doing this. Thanks.
Get a tow trailer since you already have your truck and as he mentioned if you in travel mode you can just unhitch your trailer like traveling Robert on TH-cam and you can drive off to run errands and see the sights stuff like that good luck
@@STITCHES300 I would also suggest in addition to the tire lock boot to also get a ball locking mechanism for the trailer hitch so nobody can hook your trailer up to their vehicle..
Small world; The Born Free RV plant was in Humboldt, IA where I lived in the early 80s, I believe that is where this RV was originally built. In about 1983 they were expanding their production line and I applied for a job there. I remember doing the interview and things were looking positive for getting hired then a better opportunity came up and I moved away. I’d heard through friends still living in the area when they shut the plant down they still had a couple months worth of orders left unfilled.
Wow. That is immaculate and well re-designed! He will have NO problem selling that! It's a shame there aren't more well made RV's out there, but then I couldn't afford one anyway, I'm sure!
Very nice tour & interview, Patrick. I love Born Frees & I would be interested in purchasing this RV if only the gas mileage was in the 12-15 mph range. I’m sure his new rig will sip less gas. I love how he has improved the layout since he’s owned it & the great solar configuration. I follow Humble Road, he makes beautiful vans. His innovations are exquisite. I wish Sam much luck with it, good health & safe, fun travels stopping in all those neat places he had to drive by previously. Cheers, Mo in NJ
I like every modification he made. It's a shame all that underbed storage is taken up by batteries. It's nice to see a full-timer with such a neat and tidy rig.
Great Video on Someone living the RV Life. We, People who consider this type of Future, need more Reviews/Reports to help one decide, if they want to make the move. Thanks and Good Luck in the new Van.
Actually this guy made a good choice to downsize to a class B or a van.. because with that big RV Class C W has is hard to park on the street anywhere.. with a Class B or a van you can basically Park anyway for free but anything big enough that they'll have you move it or you'll get a ticket.. plus it's less hassle with a Class B or a van that's why I built my van I can park anywhere in pop for free and then I could go to a campground if I don't want to..
Patrick, you should ask where people who show their homes on wheels where they park for the nights and offer some recommendations for others to have ideas on parking safety tips....
NJOA, PATRICK, HI George has quite a rig, with ideas set up for his needs , so great he installed som lithium batteries, +solar ,,I agree with the 12V refrigerator, I know 2 people that own PLEASUREWAY ACCENT,got rid of their problematic absorbs on units these are CLASS B on MB SPRTNTER VAN BASES , GEORGEwill have a RAM PROMASTER, Which uses the same fuel as he now uses, my regards to GEORGE, , & thanks for showing this unit, stay well, happy trails, 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I am very impressed with this quite well-kept older rig. The owner, Sam, sure is a doppelganger for my former supervisor at work. Unfortunately, Patrick died suddenly in late 2018 just 3 weeks after he retired at 65. He was coming back into the USA in his super C rig at US Customs in upstate NY.
Love this van and thank you Sam for putting a bathroom inside toilet and shower I see so many vans that do not have a bathroom it is so unsanitary to have a toilet under your bed
Thanks i dont like the idea of bed over the driver i hate small spaces and i was thinking of making it into storage and the bed somewhere else thanks for putting my dreams into reality love the video
Saw Sam about 4 years ago on CheapRVliving with Bob Wells. He said he might go a little smaller then, and had a Class B first. He's lost weight. Sam...$1,000 Composting toilets are a joke: they don't compost within the time you have to empty them (they're good for farms). Then, you have to churn them and leave your business sit in the bottom section 'till it fills in a week or so and then remove the bottom half and walk it to a dump area... GROSS! You don't need all that Victron solar equipment (though they are good). A Bluetti AC200P power system (ALL IN ONE) with 300 in solar panels is more efficient and easily would give you all the power you need! Waiting for what he's gonna' sell it for? You can run that refridge on Propane for weeks on a 20 gal tank! Sam is in his own world? I know he researched buying and Born Free is excellent, but all the useless "chaotic" upgrades were "downgrades" to me! I'm confused? Aloha
All the new RVs have cheap cabinets those at least look like they are solid wood..the new stuff is all saw dust cheap crap it feels like if you touch it they will fall apart.
For the places that he enjoyed to go, the RV was too big and telling a carbine one of these is a huge hassle. He’s been doing quite well since he moved into his van a couple years back.
We need more people like Sam in this world. If you’re ever in NJ. You’ve got a friend and driveway in me. Cheers and safe travels.
Thank you James.
@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures no problem. Love the channel. Saw your van on 34 a few weeks back and my wife said I was star struck haha

Another excellent video, Patrick. Someone will be the lucky purchaser of an updated class C motor home.

You may need to focus on what’s important to your survival. Then you would have an idea of what you need. Just meditate on it a day or two.♥️

A Par 1160, if they choose to go this route. They will need to purchase a tire boot lock. So no one could still it while one is gone.♥️

For the places that he enjoyed to go, the RV was too big and telling a carbine one of these is a huge hassle. He’s been doing quite well since he moved into his van a couple years back.
Why not just use the toilet as intended? Weird.
Many full timers do not stay at campgrounds, therefore they have no way to empty the waste tank.
Sam?
