Just have to bite the bullet and do it which I find me did once. I filed for a retirement and I got some back pay with my savings so I kept debating between a little studio because california's expensive or get the motor home of my dreams , it's older , but low mileage and immaculate like they never used. I have bit of a sore knee. So I have to use the step stool to get app-and-down even though it's got running. Boards it's a small class b gulf stream. Turn all fiber glass body. And I had to go older these hold up better against rain. It's truly as like a little home on wheels. May not be able to drive as long as I want to cause. I'm sixty nine this year but i'm going for at least four years. And then I will live in it at a permanent camp site or trade in for a trailer. It's larger , cause you can get a larger trailer from less money because there's no motor. And by a small gas savings carbut I still will never rent as an Apartment. Because even the trailer you can move to wherever you want. I had a couple of offers in california on beautiful land one of them next to a small river on ranch property for less than an apartment. Alternate livings is becoming a reality.

She's absolutely right. I traveled across the country, coast to coast, 3 times in a van. I was 65 when I started and to this day it was my happiest time, such best memories. I had breakdowns, a ice storm scare and I never felt scared. Everyone I met was kind, helpful and so nice. I've bought a home now but I still dream of doing it again.

This intelligent, independent and lovely woman epitomizes why I became interested. She loves peace and quiet, nature, the beautiful landscapes, and a life well-lived. She's got it together folks. She keeps her home like I do mine, clean, organized and cozy. She's a free spirit and genuine. What a perfect home, I love it! Jeannie, if you see this, you're my inspiration. You're what this life is all about. A kind, generous soul is rare to find these days. Wishing you many, many happy journeys, laughs, smiles, friends, fun times, and peaceful nights. Thank you.

She’s so artistically talented and creative. And highly intelligent. Spinning her own yarn? Then knits with and gives the hand made items away? As well as book binding and giving everything she makes away? Wow. Very generous, kind person. Also, your interviewing style is so comfortable and relaxed, and you actually listen and don’t talk over the person. Enjoy your cadence tremendously. I’m also right there with her in her love and longing for the mountains and forests. No place I’d rather be than in the mountains. Really like her vibe. And the fact that she uses a lot of solar power. That Lazy Daze has a great lay out also. And some really nice features. The regular stove and oven is a huge plus. And who couldn’t fall in love with those huge windows providing that wide of a view in her living/knitting area? Peaceful and beautiful! Really like it.

l have said it before but l really like your style of listening and not talking over people. we really have slipped into that style its not relaxing to listen too. when l am with friends /family l notice l go quieter when the noise level goes up, and just smile and nod. its always my news resolution every year ,not to interrupt . keep well

I love that she has a car, but I give her props for giving the scooter a shot before she was sure that a small car would suit her better . Her RV literally made me swoon! The well appointed kitchen, the beautiful bathroom, and the living room with the huge windows! Even her dog was lovely. This is awesome! I love to see a fellow fiber enthusiast living the RV lifestyle! I am like her, I make, but don't sell. Everything I have made and given to my mom she says "oh my goodness, you could make and sell these and make a fortune"! I'm not really interested. I like learning new patterns and techniques and then moving on. I do it as a relaxing hobby, but if I am constantly making the same things over and over to produce inventory, it becomes actual work and not relaxing anymore. Plus, between myself, my husband, my two sons, and family and friends everything I make finds a happy owner. My four year old son keeps me busy enough with him requests of amigurumi toys! 😂

This has to be my favorite rig yet...the big space and comfy, large sized twins in back with all those windows...that storage closet in the middle and that bathroom! It's to die for!! And that kitchen commands it's own respect!! That is a beautiful motor home. She's lucky!! I don't know if I could ever find the courage to drive something that big though but its probably one of those things you're scared of at first then it becomes a natural thing. Practice makes perfect. But, wow...just wow. This is my dream place!

If you're serious, it can be done. I did Renaissance Festivals (like 5) for 12 years. I had a 21 foot bumper pull trailer that I lived and crafted in. You just have to be creative with storage, but it can be done. So, don't let that stop you.

Just a FYI for some viewers - there are 2 different RV dealers - "Lazy Days" and "Lazy Daze." The former is a big dealer but doesn't make anything. The "Daze" is a family-run manufacturer. This is what she has, and Bob spelled it correctly. I have seen people spelling it both ways and might not be aware of the difference. If you don't need to stealth camp much, this size looks very luxurious! It's immense! It really is a small house. Beyond my means. But it's beautiful.

I have an old Ashford Traveller, but there are even smaller and lighter models out there...hitting the road shouldn't have to mean giving up essential activities (and as a fellow fibre addict - you probably know what I mean!) Good luck...and if you can find (or afford!) a Bosworth Journey Wheel...well, those are simply perfect - even in the smallest rig or van!

Oh, that's so great, congrats! I'm sure you will enjoy it so much. Maybe I'll see you out on the road, or at a LD gathering.
Yes, I also have drop spindles and an inkle loom - they work great for small spaces. My wheel is a Sidekick by Schacht. Ashford also makes a small wheel. I think Majacraft has one that is small and folds compact. When I'm not spinning it lives on the driver's seat, out of the way.

Love watching the communities vids and vlogs, and really admire the fortitude and ingenuity all the RV community show. So just to say thank you for great and wholesome viewing. Hello fellow fiber fanatic! I have a friend with the same Lazy Daze floorplan and she removed one of the couches to put in her floor loom and spinning wheel. I chose not to do that, but rather get equipment that fold up and take up less space. I left my 20" Schacht Flip Loom stored back at my folks' place this year. That's harder to use in the RV. I do have my inkle loom, which is really good for this small space. My wheel is a Schacht Sidekick. Love it.
Hope to see you on the road. :-)

I had about 2 years of research and envy before hitting the road. One of my favorite sites, and got me onto Lazy Daze, was AndyBaird.com and his Travels with Gertie. Then his upgrade to Skylark. Could be envy overload though!!

That is a beautiful house on wheels. I could easily live in something like that, especially b/c of the full kitchen and that room in the back with those uber awesome windows! That's livin large in a small space. It's my dream to be doing the same thing too - sooon!

Much respect and many kudos go out to those nomadic minded folks who have made the bold decision to hit the road over the course of many years. These are the people who have chosen to search for their dreams in a powerful and impactful way. Bob, my hat goes off to you for discovering this all-important niche and dutifully reporting on your findings. My heart and soul pours out to those who have proven over and over again that almost anyone can do this - including yours truly. Keep these all too important videos coming! Your voice, their voices are being heard loud and clear. The travel warrior mentality lives on in a big, big way. Thank you, sir, for your continued hard work and focus.

As my husband and I are preparing for this life starting around next March 2020. I told him we could each pick one big thing to hang on to. He picked his keyboard. I’m picking my yarn, as I crochet. And yes I have a craft website but usually end up giving my projects away. For some reason that’s more satisfying to me.
